Not very good to be honest! Although they look great and look great quality- my partner said they are unwairable. Incredibly tough leather and uncomfortable. She has thrown the box away otherwise I would be sending them back. It's a shame as she loves the look of them but they are simply horrible to wear. She 'wore them in' as in walked around the house with them and she had horrendous blisters. I think the leather on these needs to be conditioned to be softer. I feel like I have wasted ÂŁ130 to be fully honest

As expected with this type of leather, these will require a long breaking in period. I suggest ordering the balm with the boots so you can get started upon arrival. The boots seem to run just slightly smaller than the non-Made in UK version which I also have a pair of so may want to consider a bigger size if you are use to the similar Docs made outside the UK. Also they are very stiff in the sole, which may resolve itself after breaking in but the UK version at the moment does not seem have the cushioned step that the non-UK version does and so makes for an uncomfortable wear.

As with most docs, these took some love and attention to break in. I wore them for an hour out and they HURT!... But.With patience, and wearing them indoors for a few hours each day (which sounds like a lot of effort but... Really isnt) and letting the natural creases fold into the leather, they are SO comfy. I can easily wear them for a 7+ hour shift at a busy bar, on my feet.Size wise, due to just the mild effort of breaking them in, I'd go up a half size. I'm usually a size 6 and they probably would be true to size but I have particularly big calves so I sized up a half. They fit great.All in all, look sexy, feel sexy, they're a slay.

I splurged and got the Made in England boot and have zero regrets. Excellent craftsmanship, generous fit, and they are breaking in nicely. Shipping was fast, and the packaging was lovely. I typically wear women’s 8.5/9US and opted to go with the 9. A half size down would have been perfect if that had been an option. They are roomy for a 9, but that’s ok because they will accommodate thicker socks if needed. One suggestion with the Chelsea boot: get heel inserts; this will prevent any pressure on the back of your leg and make the boots even more comfortable right out of the box.

However, it is all in my head & I have been getting so many compliments on this style! I feel like the square-toe is definitely making a comeback and if you're on the fence about these, just do it. I purchased these to replace another pair that I have been wearing religiously for 7 years (Flora Chelsea boots!) and I am super happy with these. They have broken in nicely and are super comfortable, however, a thicker crew sock is what I prefer to wear with them. So the size is a bit larger than usual in a UK5. Nice comfy lining and roomy. The boot itself is extremely difficult to get on and off as the opening with the elastic and rigid leather is really really tiny even for a narrow foot. The leather rubs blisters on my ankle bones as rather than the elastic sitting over the ankle nice and comfy, the rock hard leather is there instead. I put a plaster on for the break in phase. Am hoping over time the boots will be easier to get on and off as it puts me off with the polava of 5mins each time and pulled back muscles. I Think I will stick to lace ups from now on lols. Overall nice boot and would give a 4 out of 10 compared to all my other docs that get 9-10 and I have a good 6 pairs.
These are by far the most comfortable DMs I’ve had from the start. The boots have been the best to break in (I have pairs of 1460s). I ordered a size 6, and they are quite long in the foot, but I don’t mind a little room, as they’re not a wide fit.However, I knocked a star off because of the very narrow ankle. I’m not slim and so they kind of cut in, but petit friends have tried my pair and thought ankles were tight too. This has been the area I’ve really had to soften and break in.Overall they look so smart, are pretty comfy straight away and I’ve had compliments on them.
I really love the look, but the lack of laces and stiffness really made these hard to fit “just right”. I’m still in the breaking in phase but can’t seem to find the right insole to add. I have high arches and normally size 7 is pretty roomy all around (I’m typically size 7.5 or 8 in other boots). The length actually feels not as roomy on these compared to other DMs I have. But there is lots of width room and adding an insole really helps with the length, weirdly enough. The look of these boots in person is really really nice, though. I can understand the difference between the “made in England” boots vs others now. All in all, I really like them and look forward to breaking them in and getting the fit just-so.
