I was very excited to put this gate at my sons doorway so he cannot leave his room and go downstairs in the middle of the night. It requires drilling into the wall or trim. So we had to drill holes into the doorway which I was hesitant about. But I believe it was worth doing. The retractable feature is great, very compact while the gate is not in use. The door cannot be opened with one hand easily. It more so requires two hands. Overall, I am excited about the product and it is perfect for what we needed.

This retractable indoor/outdoor security gate is perfect for our first floor stairs that lead to the second floor! My two oldest children have no issues retracting the gate to go upstairs. This gate provides peace of mind, knowing my infant cannot crawl up the stairs. Even though this retractable gate is in place, I still keep an eye on my youngest.This gate is also perfect if you have pets, specifically dogs. Sometimes we don’t want the dogs upstairs, on the beds. Especially if their paws might be muddy and we don’t catch it in time. I really like how this gate attaches to the wall on both sides. When my husband and I tried using a regular baby gate, our bigger dog kept knocking it over. Highly recommend!

Having four young children, I have tried a number of different safety gates over time. This one is my favorite. It's a good size and can be easily adjusted. There's no gaps or spaces where small feet can climb or fall. The material is solid, strong, and easy to clean. The gate was easy to assemble and the instructions were clear. I wish I had found this product sooner!

Super easy to install retractable security gate. It comes with easy to read instructions. The quality of the product is amazing, i had used another security gate in past for my pet before but that so very difficult to use. Since it is something that i use to atleast 5-10 times a day, i would prefer to spend few extra money to have good quality gate. I used it inside at staircase but it can also be used outside. I loved the grey color, very subtle and elegant. Loved the product and would recommend to anyone who is looking for good quality security gate for pets or infant.
Now that our 7 month old is on the go, it was time to put up a baby gate! We hated the look of the big metal or even wooden gates we had with our older son. We wanted something more discreet that could be “tucked away” yet be permanent. This was the perfect solution I didn’t even know existed. Installation was fairly simple. It comes with a template to trace the holes for foolproof drilling. That was something my husband liked! So far it is very sturdy and has held up to my 7 month old, 5 year old, a year old dog.Once up, it’s pretty easy to figure it out although it did take a few tries. It’s not the most quiet when the gate retracts. For whatever reason, my in-laws cannot figure it out if their life depended on it but it will take practice.

It came swiftly and well packaged Studio kept me up to date at all times with the tracking etc. The instructions were relatively straight forward and the guides for where to place the brackets were very helpful. The problem came in the mechanism and design itself. This is advertised as a one-handed easy to operate safety gate. Unfortunately, it absolutely is not, you have to push and twist the button at the top of the gate and keep it down while you slide the material over to the holders. As the gate is tensioned to pull itself back this can be quite tricky if it is over a larger space. Works well for our 72 inch hallway. You have to read directions. For it to go that far you must twist the knob, let go of the button then pull the gate all the way to the closed position. You do NOT have to hold the knob and pull at the same time... Twist the knob, let go and then pull all the way to close. Its kind of like a seat belt if you stop it won't go any further and you will have to re turn the knob and try again.
We now have three of these gates in our home. They are perfect for stairways and doorways alike. We use one to keep the dogs in the mudroom while we are away. We also have two (basically side by side) on our main level stairs to shut off the stairs to the second level and to the basement. They are so nice because they don't swing out and take up a bunch of space in walkways and also don't swing out over the stairs going down. We installed one on the outside of the stairway and one between the post of our open railing and the wall. Both options work great. Our one stairway is approx 48" and the other is 52" so other gate options wouldn't work or needed extension pieces as well.
I put this gate in my half bath since it doesn't have a door. It works great at keeping my kids out of my bathroom. I think this gate is great for a room that doesn't need accessed that often. The gate pulls tightly across, so there is no way a child could go over or under it. However, I would not use it for a dog because a dog could easily tear it up. A puppy could crawl under it because there is a gap between the floor and the gate. It is kind of difficult for me to get used to opening this gate. If I retract the gate too fast, it will get messed up at the bottom of the roll. If my hand stops for just a second while closing the gate, I have to start over because that locks the gate.
