The jury is made up of big-name designers and design experts from around the world - they decide independently which products receive a Red Dot Award.The Drehgriffel was originally created by Leuchtturm1917 for Monocle as a ballpoint pen. The design is distinctly retro, because it's a revival of a writing instrument that was around in the 1920s. The ballpoint looked more like a mechanical pencil than a pen, but now there's a pencil too!' Drehgriffel' means 'twist stylus'. The hexagonal barrel is precision-milled aluminium and brass. The barrel end employs a spring-loaded twist mechanism to extend the lead. Unlike the Drehgriffel pens though, the fine tip is made from steel.Available with a 0.7mm tip.
