Love the tool! But this is my 3rd in a year. The lightweight cordless is ideal for my job. I make sure not dust or anything gets inside the device but it just seems not too last. Charging is my guess. Coworkers all bought one a week apart and they all started “dying” 3 months later. All bought from different stores

The fact that this is cordless is a huge bonus. Comes with its own charging cable and AC adapter. I’m not exactly sure what the battery life is like, as I have not used it long enough to require a re-charge in the middle of a project, and I haven’t used it on enough projects to comment on it’s rocket Ness for durability. I will update this review once I see what the battery life is. It comes with a couple of accessories-sanding barrel polishing wheels and polishing compound. You will need a full kit of accessories and attachments to do any type of major project. The only con that I can comment on directly out of the box is that this tool does not come with a carrying case or bag. So you will need to purchase one separately, or keep it in the box when not in use.

The product was shown sharpening mower blades. I didnt expect it to be a real power house, but a litle better performance would've been nice. The cordless bogged down a few times and stopped. I had to turn it off, rotate the grinding stone a bit and then turned it back on to get it going again. It did sharpen my mower blade, ok, bit how long is it going last? This is my third dremel ( got it as a gift). The first one was great, the second one ( top end unit) lasted only 1.5 years. Not exactly happy with with the cordless performance so far...

I have used several other lightweight rotary tools for glass engraving but all had faults. Including off-centre of the bit, poor battery use and excess vibration. I had a larger Dremel and chose the smaller one for ease of handling. It certainly meets my requirements with a much longer use time and precision working ability.
This Dremel is great when you're working in situations where a cord will just get in the way. Initial charge time was two hours and it just as easy to use as the corded Dremel.Now obviously it isn't as strong as the corded version, but it seems to do the trick for smaller jobs or detailed work. I did some tests on a piece of a 2x4 with the engraving cutter and carbide cutter that comes with the kit; definitely suited to detail work.
Just what I needed, a simple basics package I can use to trim my dog's nails. Having had a cordless Dremel before, I was surprised at the quality of this model. It has a nice heft to it, the case seems very sturdy, the battery charge lasts a long time, and the operation is much smoother.
I am a contractor, I have quite a few dremel tools that I use on different occasions. Unfortunately the Dremel light doesn't quite stack up to the corded versions. I decided to use the Dremel light this morning on a sticky door catch hoping to grind it down and make the latch smoother. within just a few minutes the tool overheated and stopped I let it rest, started again it ran for a few minutes then stopped, I let it rest then the red light came on before the job was finished.I rated it that I would recommend, but only for a hobbiest or a diyer.I gave it a low star rating for the battery life. I would say if your professional or in the trades, the Dremel lite may not be for you , stick with the corded versions
Note: I am receiving a free accessory pack from Dremel in exchange for my honest review.I bought this to do detail work on my fireplace mantle. I had to strip off 3 coats of paint plus the original stain, then sand it down to be ready to be stained. The 36-grit sanding tool was great for removing paint from the nooks and crannies, although I had difficulty with interior corners.Overall, solid product!
I like the look and feel of the cordless Dremel, but I used it once and now it won't come back on or hold a charge. I only used it to lightly sand an item , and only for 2 or 3 minutes tops, it really did a good job till I tried to turn it back on, guess I will be getting a new corded model instead.
I have owned Dremels my entire life but this is the first cordless one I've purchased. The switch in my old corded Dremel started to act up so I thought I'd opt for a cordless one this time. If you're thinking of doing anything but very light grinding or buffing I'd give this one a pass because any bit of resistense and this one just cuts off. You then have to turn it off and back on to get it going again. When they say lite, they mean lite and I'd suggest to anyone considering this one to spend a little more and go for a heavier model. I've tossed this one in a drawer and gone back to my old one.
