Dualit 46205 Lite 4 Slot Toaster - Black

Ok, I had to send the first one back as one slot didnt work properly. Received the replacement 2 days later. My compliments to Amazons simple and efficient returns process.The replacement works very well, nice and even browning. Timewise, it toasts bread in around the same time as its Delonghi and Breville predecessors and to a better, more even standard. It might not brown all of the larger slices of bread e.g Hovis Best of Both. Not a major issue for me as Ive encountered this with all toasters Ive had, and it only misses the very top, say 78mm. The smaller standard sizes such as Hovis Seed Sensations are fine.Yes theres quite a bit of plastic but it doesnt look or feel cheap, in my opinion. Chose this as I wanted a quality toaster. In my experience this is no different to a cheaper toaster you pay double for the name Dualit on the side. It only has to do one thing, crisp up your bread, but it toasts each side unevenly one side brown the other hardly done. It is quick though maybe because it only browns one side. It seems to toast both sides more evenly when using thick sliced bread, which might account for the variation in reviews. For the price paid I expect it to be able to cope with variations in bread thickness. Possibly, if you pay for a top of the range Dualit you get something special. This in my opinion is not special.

After buying many toasters over the last few years that do not last I decided to buy something of quality and remembering my parents Dualit toaster from the 70s that lasted over 20 years and was fully refurbished by Dualit during this time decided to spend the extra money. My initial reaction was slight disappointment as it does not toast quite as evenly as Id hoped, however it does toast quickly and the bagel toasting function is great as is the toast checking facility that allows you to check the toast during cooking. Best toaster yet

We have found this to be a very good toaster. Lots of good features such as speeding up the toasting process when warmed up to get consistency in toast browning. Also good wide slots and a warming rack. Very well built reflected in the price which isn’t too bad considering how long it will hopefully last. We have tried many other toasters, none of which do the job properly. You would be hard pressed to fault this one.

Disappointed by Robert Dyas

The toaster was purchased on behalf of my parents who wanted a replacement for a similar Dualit model. After their shock at the increase in cost they seem generally happy, everything works as it should.I purchased through Robert Dyas specifically because they were part of the Easy Fundraising scheme so was disappointed when they refused to pay the donation to the local school. Too many hidden terms and conditions. I would probably not purchase again through this supplier for that reason but the product and delivery were fine.

Dualit long 2 & 4 slot toaster.

I was looking for a long slot toaster that will last. I done a bit of research comparing different brands but Dualit came out tops if what I was wanting. I would recommend the Dualit 4 slot toaster, can be used for 4 normal bread slices or 2 long slices. Also has a warming rack.

Review of DL4B 4-Slice Toaster - Black

Good Points: Toasts quickly and evenly. We bought the cages for toasties and it makes brilliant toasties. Bagel function is good for things like tea cakes. Also like the lift up without stopping the programme feature.Improvement Points: Shame slots aren’t deep enough to toast the very top of a slice or long enough to put it in horizontally to toast the top. It’s a bit on the pricey side, which is ok if it lasts well.
