I was told this product would prepare my treated pine and used under 2 coats of weathershield, I would never have to repaint it! Well after applying my 2 coats of weathershield, the paint bubbled and when touched, would completely fall off back to bare timber. Waste of $500 and 3 days of time.

Very difficult to apply especially in warn weather. Results in poor top coat even with high gloss enamel finishThe old slow drying undercoat was much better but not sold at Bunnings

Easy to use. Great for applying to raw timber windows. Provides a excellent base coat prior to the application of the finish coat. Relatively fast drying at room temperature.

Have avoided oil based paints for the last 30 years. This however clearly shows how things have developed. Spreads well, doesn't run and dries quickly. Top coat now looking fantastic in full gloss thanks to the under coat.
Very nice primer, created a good surface for applying the top coat. I used oil top coat although good to know you can use water based as well.
Purchased this product with high expectations as Dulux is a trusted brand. However on application to a new wooden door surface it was like painting with sludgy chalkdust. Very visible brush strokes on surface and very hard to get even coverage. This is an oil based paint and the can indicates turps clean up but the paint has a high thinners content which means that thinners are required to adequately clean up the brush as turps was not effective. Short story long I had to strip off the undercoat with a scraper and sand the door back to remove the mess this primer left. Very dissapointed.
Impossible to apply with brush as it is like trying to paint peanut butter as it dries way too quick! Tried a roller and also extremely hard to not get raised dried patches as it dries so quick. Even tried diluting with turns and wasn't that much better. Will never be using again!
Good at hiding tannins and stains but prone to paint blistering in the sun. On closer inspection it’s this undercoat that comes off the surface.I used it on Jarrah, brand new pine and H3 timber. I always lightly sand and clean and paint on dry wood so pretty sure it is not the surface prep that’s to blame. Does not happen with 3 in 1 water based Taub… but on H3 it is recommended to use oil first.
Should a primer/sealer be glossy.....I put this on a small watermark on ceiling to stop bleeding. It dries quick but finishes glossy...I had to apply 4 coats of flat ceiling paint to hide it..it's still showing through slightly...don't use it unless you want lots of work...
From a brand new tin was too thick & gives ugly lumpy finish!Terrible to use.I regret buying this & paying extra cost to get dulux brand.I want to return it.
