Thank you for your quick response, the fix was very simple and easy. The only question I have is can you make clear plastic tape with other colors, as some of the things I label are black or very dark? Thanks again for the rapid response.

I ordered a set of three refills and two aren't properly wound as there is no lead for the machine to grab. I tried to get the top off as suggested but was afraid to crack the casing as it did not budge. Poor quality control, and now I have to return the lot or pay 3x what I should have to use the one useable refill.

I am a Special Education teacher and I bought the LetraTag 200B for my classroom last year. Chaos ensued and I did not have time to open it or use it until last week. I saw from some earlier reviews that folks were getting tape cassettes that did not have tape visible for the label maker to grab, and I had this issue, as well. I just want to be clear that I purchased these over a year ago, so the problem may have been rectified. I also found the fix suggested by the Dymo employees in their responses to previous reviews to be easy and effective. I gently pried off the top of the cassette, carefully loosening it bit by bit, all the way around. I love these. They're good to label glass items. The only problem I have compared to the white paper labels, is with the transparent tape it can't be touched sticky side because the oils on fingers. For it to actually stick I had to use tweezers or anything like that to remove the backing and use rubbing alcohol to remove any oils from the glass before I placed it on my glass spice jars. It's only been a few days and so far they're staying. The first one I did, did not stick so I had to redo. I labeled poly file folders as well with this transparent tape. I didnt have to rub alcohol on files, only used the tweezer method and they stuck.
After recently organizing all of our office and craft supplies, I needed new tape for my label maker. Normally I get the white paper, but this clear is way better in my opinion. It’s thick and sticks well, and it doesn’t stick out as much on my clear bins. I’m happy with it! Definitely recommend!
I buy this item every quarter or so and I am always so pleased with the product. Its black print on clear tape and it is so much easier to take of than the black on white tape. Although it leaves a reside on some surfaces, it doesn't leave behind a piece of tape when removing so its not so hard to clean after.
Normally this review would be five stars. I love my labeler (gray LetraTag), but with the last tape cassette I bought the tape was not visible external to the plastic cassette, so it never fed into the machine and thus was a complete waste of my purchase. SO, IN THE FUTURE I WILL (and you should too) ALWAYS CHECK IN THE PLASTIC WINDOW OF THE PACKAGING THAT THE TAPE HAS BEEN PROPERLY WOUND AND READY FOR PICK UP BY THE MACHINE!!!!!!!!! Save yourself a trip back to the store because of poor product quality control.
This tape worked great! I love having a clear option, as opposed to a white background. I plan to continue purchasing this product-- great for organization projects
DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM. We ordered one of the Clear/Transparent Black on Clear Dymo refills. When it arrived, sealed, there was no tape extending from the cartridge so it did not print. Walmart very quickly replaced it and when the second one arrived, also sealed, there was again no tape extending from the cartridge...so again useless. This is clearly a production issue. Do not waste your time and money ordering this. We have used DYMO LetraTag refills of various varieties for decades with no problem...and the tape is always visible extending from the cartridge when the refill is new. You can clearly see the tape in the photo of the product above. In our photo the tape is missing in both cartridges.
I really like my Dymo LetraTag labeler. I usually use the white plastic cartridges for most of my labeling needs. I was looking at an old family bible and many times the provided blank pages for the Family Tree, Marriage. Births, Baptisms, Deaths etc are seldom filled in. I wanted to fill this in with the rub off letters but it is very time consuming. The Black on clear tape cartridge is just the thing for this. Note: initially create and print out a word or name in each provided size for the desired font then tape it into a blank piece of paper as reference with the font size so that custom labels can be made with ease. This helps in getting to know and use the Dymo functionality better in my review.
