I wanted to love the new Dyson Chitosan. I love the concept of having one product to hold body and curl. Packaging is innovative, just like their hair tools. Smell was pleasant, formula was easy to use. The primary reason for the three-star review is Chitosan dries my hair out. My hair is like rope; super thick, healthy, people pay good money for hair as thick and strong as this. I trim regularly, generally air-dry and rarely feel dry ends. After the first use, I noticed the dryness. I checked the ingredients and found two alcohols + dimethicone (something I actively avoid in sunscreens). My second concern with Chitosan: it didn’t make any difference with the outcome of my hair style. Every wave still slipped out. Unfortunately, this is a miss for me.

As someone with flat, fine, straight hair, I confess that I have always felt limited in my ability to style my hair. Curls typically didn't hold well and I am very prone to damage.However, since adding this cream in, I am truly shocked by how well it works. This might be the cream for people who think they don't like hair creams. It doesn't weigh my strands down (which is SHOCKING in and of itself), and yet it does extend my styles oh so well. I actually had a moment where I thought my hair spray was suddenly working so much better than it had before...and then remembered, oh yeah. I got this a little over a month ago! I have been obsessed ever since. I have a job that involves travelling a lot so I have tested this in Indian waters, UK’s water (with and without softener), European waters and somehow it has always ended up giving me the same hydration and softness. I have bought one already for my mum and she is a slave of her frizzy hair even that was tamed down, she is now a master of it. I can’t start to describe how happy I am with this product. I have straight hair and this helps me add the volume. I have tried many serums and they end up giving me breakages when I comb my hair after drying and this just reduced the knots and hair fall considerably! My hair is bra strap length- 3A/B Curls- Fine- High Porosity for reference Pros: - Absolutely beautiful packaging! Magnetic cap is a great touch and the overall look is so sleek. -Smells great! Delicate scent but very clean and luxurious. -Moisturizing, great slip. -Curls dried quickly, with a lot of volume. Cons: -Had to use quite a lot of product to saturate my hair, especially as it’s supposed to be a 1 step product. -Would be stronger layered with a gel. -Curls didn’t form chunky clumps like I usually prefer. Over all I did like this product but I think it would be better suited for wavy hair, low porosity hair or hair that has better moisture balance before products.
Leave it to dyson to come out with a really great hair product and awesome bottle design. First, they designed a really chic reusable shell. Then the pump mechanism is really interesting. No squeezing of a bottle required! While the dispenser is really cool, it is hard to get the product that is stuck to the dome.Now onto the product. I think they have created a really great pre-styling cream. I tested this and air dried my hair and found that it gave my waves a decent hold. I haven't had a chance to test it with my airwrap but i expect great results! The texture and consistency are also really nice to use and it leaves my hair soft.
