I am between the UK and Canada. I have the Airwrap that I use in Canada and I love it. It doesn't work in the UK because of the different voltage requirement (I have tried everything). I decided to buy the Dyson Corrale Hair Straightener for the UK. I bought in April and it took some time to get use to it (its heavy and awkward). I didn't like the sound or feeling of my hair being tugged as you use the straightener. However, the description says the straightener is suppose to grip your hair like that. Well two months later and my hair is damaged. I have a lot of broken hair strands and split ends in all different lengths that stick out. I recently wrote to explain my problems. I asked if others were complaining about the same thing and got no reply back. I actually believe Dyson has good quality products but this in not one of them. I have gotten better results without damage to my hair from less expensive straighteners. I think I could bleach my hair a dozen times and not have the damage that was caused by using this product. Do not waste your money on this product.

I bought this as a treat to myself just before Christmas and think it may be one of the best purchases I have ever made!As a user of another high end straightener brand for many years, I wasn’t convinced that the Corralle would really do anything different or make such a difference to my already reasonably silky, fine hair. I was wrong!!Since using the Corralle, the condition of my hair is so much better. The shine is on another level and the flyaway’s a distant memory whenever I use it and I have had so many comments about how bouncy and healthy my hair looks too. It’s safe to say that my previous straighteners are now history!Curling with the Corralle is so simple too. I’ve never been able to master the technique before as my hair always fell out of the plates before I’d got to the end of the curl, or the cord got wrapped around my wrist during the twist making it impossible to control the movement of the straightener. The cordless feature of the Corralle and the fact it has magical, flexing plates mean that these obstacles are no longer an issue and I can create beautiful, shiny, sleek curls in minutes. The price of the Corralle makes this a serious, considered investment of a purchase but believe me, it’s one that you will not regret. If you’re thinking about it, have been deliberating for months like I did before Christmas, just go for it; it will be the best decision you have ever made for your hair!

I love my corales I just think there pricy for what they are. I can straighten style my hair shoulder length fine and wavy blonde hair in 25mins. However previous straighteners would take about 2hours. So the fact there is no smoke from my hair and the fact there cordless and so much quicker by a 1/4 is a absolute deal for me. I hate spending hours trying to get it presentable and the corales does exactly that the plate wraps around your hair so In one pass I have poker straight hair! One pass !! Used to take combs section clips you need none of thst grab a section with your hand slot it in-between the plates and slowly run through. I use the lowest heat also so even less damage. OK so maybe for the price £400 I expected that these would blow my mind (as when I got the airwrap) but the first pair I had did not hold charge more than 25 minutes, if less than a third charge remained & I switched off, the battery would be drained when I next switched on. No quibble I got a replacement which seemed a better model??? These are much better but really you need to keep on the charge cable when doing your full head after washing (I have thick shoulder length hair). Over the next few days when Im just sorting the frizzy's & fringe with a couple of passes, fine on cordless. They are quite heavy, but you do less "passes" (Pop into a store and pick a pair up) but I definitely think it is better for my hair than any other brand (and I'd had most of em over ... MoreOK so maybe for the price £400 I expected that these would blow my mind (as when I got the airwrap) but the first pair I had did not hold charge more than 25 minutes, if less than a third charge remained & I switched off, the battery would be drained when I next switched on. To give you a little background I am a 50 something lady with fairly long, very thick and middle aged course hair. I work in an exposed, environment where it is dusty and hot in the summer and wet and windy in the winter. The odds are stacked against me. I have been following the Dyson hair technology for some time wondering whether it was a case of really good marketing hype or actually was worth the money. I ended up purchasing a Dyson Corrale for myself as a Christmas treat. It cost just over a week’s wages, so not a purchase made lightly. It works! I wouldn’t say the process is any quicker, but the results are amazing. I am usually conscious of a heavy hairdryer, but I found the Corrale easy to use and handle. I read some comments about the Corrale ‘dragging’ ... MoreTo give you a little background I am a 50 something lady with fairly long, very thick and middle aged course hair. I wouldn’t say the process is any quicker, but the results are amazing. I am usually conscious of a heavy hairdryer, but I found the Corrale easy to use and handle. I read some comments about the Corrale ‘dragging’ through the hair. I did experience a little of this initially, but quickly realised I just had to adjust the angle that I was holding the straightener.I use the straighteners on the highest heat setting and I find the battery lasts about the 30 minutes as stated. However, I tend to use my straighteners whilst sitting at a dressing table, so use the cord, which increases the battery time for more than enough. The cord is a great length, which easily attaches to the unit and I don’t feel it gets in the way.I was a serious doubter in desperate need of help with my wild and frizzy hair and found it in the Dyson Corrale. My hair stays smooth and feels so soft and healthy until the next wash. I tend to touch my hair up for just a few minutes every day, which maintains the silky appearance.
I held off buying the corrale for so long there's been many people who have had problems with the material around the plates melting. I already own an airwrap (had it 22 months) and have been blown away by it so I finally caved. Bought the corrale around 4 weeks ago from first use it didn't dissapoint at all. It took the first 2 attempts to get to grips with how to grip the plates properly so it'd run through my hair smoothly. If its tugging or pulling hair out youre not using it correctly, now i know how to use it it glides through my thick, curly hair like butter. I did however experience curl hold issues the first 4x which I didn't have with the airwrap. I have needed to use high heat for now. So far so good and I'm absolutely loving the practicality, ease and results I'm getting. Whilst running your hair through you can see the shine appearing on your hair like magic. Voluminous waves, curls and sleek unlike regular straighteners that completely flatten the hair. Battery life isn't great to be fair but I've not had it run out on me yet. I put it back on the stand inbetween sections and a whole head I've still got over a quarter battery left. The corrale works amazingly well alongside the airwrap also. If you want to achieve even more bounce, volume and movement use the round brush attachment to dry then the corrale to add waves, curls etc. If you're having second thoughts and are after a straightener that achieves the best results fast, less damaging and luxurious GET IT. One major plus is dysons customer services I've had great experiences with them so far.
I bought this as I liked the idea of having a cordless straightener. Despite being extremely happy with all other Dyson products I have purchased these just don't hit the mark. They perform much worse than my GHDs and are more than twice the price!! Feels like they drag (and break?) your hair. Takes longer to heat up and it's a faff to get that accomplished. GHDs you just switch on and within a minute they're fully heated ready to go and glide through your hair. Haven't tried to curl the hair with them but can only imagine the hair damage. Sorry Dyson does not warrant the price nor the effort. Reverting back to my GHDs. I have persevered for about 3 weeks but it just isn't happening for me.
Well after having every Dyson hoover, for the last 10 years, I was really excited to try, the all new fancy cordless hair straighteners…So my husband bought me them last Christmas.Having had them now, nearly a year, I’m not happy with them at all. They are heavy.. your arms ache after straightening.. which brings me to, they pull your hair out, on contacting Dyson about the plates been rough on your hair!! They told me to use smaller sections of hair, and grip the plates tight, with your hands firmly pressing the plates tight on your hair, and pulling down. Which is quite annoying.I’m very gutted about these, as I love the hoovers, but these are a massive let down. I really would have taken them back, if I didn’t already open them. Please take my advice, and go for GHD’s or Cloud nines.
I wise I could rate this with a minus star it is so poor. I honestly cannot warn you highly enough to avoid wasting your money on this terrible excuse for hair straighteners. I am not even sure where to begin to convey how terrible this product is. Well frankly for a start if you have hair that actually requires straightening this item is not for you because it will not do the job. I have thick wavey (not overtly curly, just wavey) shoulder-length hair and all the Dyson straighteners do is make it frizzy. So following from the fact that it does not do the job I purchased it for, it is extremely heavy and difficult to use, even when I asked my daughter (a trained beautician and hairdresser) to do it for me, she found it too heavy, laboursome and quite frankly not ... MoreI wise I could rate this with a minus star it is so poor. So you can only imagine how cumbersome it is to use on one's self.Furthermore, it only remains charged for about 15 minutes, possibly stretched to 20 if you keep plugging it back in and you don't mind the infuriating beeping it continues to make after about 12 minutes. It is such a terrible terrible waste of money. I have had far better results from a £15 non-branded pair of straighteners that I bought in a pharmacist bargain bucket. I attempted to raise this substandard item with the company, they telephoned me ONCE, during my clinic hours. I explained to them that I am a doctor and cannot take calls during the day. They assured me that they would call me back after 4.30 and I have heard nothing since despite my plentiful email requests to discuss this matter further. When I had bought it I did consider also purchasing the hairdryer too, I am so glad I didnt because if it is as bad as this item I would have just been throwing good money after bad.I can only say to Mr. James Dyson, I am a doctor and therefore do not attempt to fix cars, you make the world's best vacuum cleaners, perhaps you ought to stick to what you are better at because this product is utterly unfit for purpose.
I’m on my third Corrale straightener. The first two ripped my hair out, most unpleasant. This third model seems better. It does still make an odd noise when straightening, almost a crunching, but I no longer have tugging/breakage caused by the straightener. I have quite fine hair, and it is coloured, so this may be why I have had issues, but I was shocked at the breakage. I was refused a refund as I’d gone out of the 35 days by the time the replacement model arrived, but was given this replacement which does seem better. It was a very expensive purchase; I have the hairdryer and other products eg hoover- the issues I had shocked me and I would never have expected. It heats quickly and you can use on or off the cord. I wouldn’t say I prefer it to my previous model ... MoreI’m on my third Corrale straightener. The first two ripped my hair out, most unpleasant. This third model seems better. I wouldn’t say I prefer it to my previous model (a Remington), but it does straighten well- you can see the ‘one pass technology’… but let’s face it we all do more than one pass! I don’t think it stays as straight after some hours/sometimes needs a quick pass over the next day, but I’m guessing that is because it is using less heat/leaving less damage (really hope so anyway!). The colour is nice and the stand is helpful. After you get used to the weight difference, it’s useful to use it without the cord. It does straighten well, but I’m not recommending the Corrale to family/friends because of the issues I had- should have probably stuck to cheaper models!
