Amazing vacuum!

I can vacuum all 3 levels including stairs with no battery issues. Amazingly, other than a very few strands of the dogs long hair that are easily pulled off the roller, no hair becomes wrapped around the roller. The suction on the lowest setting is very powerful, and I don’t really need to use the higher settings. The vacuum was the easiest one of any I have had (Shark, Bissell) to assemble. The only issue is that the canister part was a bit difficult to remove off the stick handle in order to empty. I am assuming it’s just because the vacuum is new. The other downside is that you must keep your finger on the “on” button, and the vacuum does not stand up by itself. However, for me, these are minor details. I needed a vacuum that was powerful and where the long collie hair does not get wrapped around that roller. Another bonus is that the vacuum is very light weight. I love this vacuum and I am so impressed with it. It was well worth the expense.

My first V10 was $700. It was worth it, by the time I bought a vac every year or 2, the cost was as much as the Dyson, and they weren't the power nor built as well- those awful belts, bags, etc., constantly taking part for hair, string, removal. If you're on the fence, or deciding between this and the V8 at $50 less(though still a good vac), this is the better deal at $150 off with larger bin, better suction, 3 speed modes, battery status.I'm buying a second at this price!!!

This is a tough review. I am giving it two stars because the battery life is absolute trash! This thing works like a champ the first couple of months you own it. As time goes on with LITTLE USE by the way (even though it shouldn't matter for the price of this thing) it will start to be a designed obsolescence. If you have the money to replace a $500-800 vacuum every year and a half then you can't buy a better one. If you don't or that doesn't sound appealing then look elsewhere. Again, tough review here... the thing works like a beast. It will suck up more dirt and pet hair better than 90% of the machines out there, but if you're cool with vacuuming your living room and office room, the battery dying, then waiting 3 hours to charge it again, then go back to ... MoreThis is a tough review. Best Stick Vacuum EVER!
17 February 2023

I must admit that i was a little leery on buying a stick vacuum as i thought that A) it would be heavy, B) wouldn't pull as much dirt as my DC24 would, and C) Wouldn't last to do a entire floor in my home with.Boy was I Wrong! The unit pulls WAY more dirt than my DC24. It does have a smaller container than the DC24 but although I did have to empty it a lot the amount of dirt it picked up was substantial! I did two runners, a large area rug and two carpeted steps plus the wood floor around the Rug on one charge and about 8 empties. Each time I emptied it, it was FULL! I mean up the top where it could hold any more if it tried. Talk about dirt. To be fair it was a bit dirty since I hadn't been able to vacuum for two weeks but whoa! It also tufted the carpet really well and no tangles and no hair left over in the roller at all.I also found this to be lighter than I expected, it was very easy to hold in one hand and maneuver everywhere, even all the way under my couch (which the DC24 CANT do). I use a cane to get around so not having to mess with a bulky Vacuum and cord was a major bonus!Last this thing has a really good battery. I used it for the entire downstairs living room, two stairs and my room and the battery meter hasn't even budged. I believe I can probably do my entire house and still have time left on the battery. I have a modest sized house, nothing really huge (4 bed, 2 bath, living room, kitchen and utility room, 2 story) so this is good for me.I definitely recommend this if you want ease of use and a good solid stick vacuum. in fact as i was doing the vacuuming I kept hearing in my head a line from the movie Spaceballs, you know it: suck...Suck...SUCK!!! LOL. Oh and the sound it makes when it runs and then shuts off is wickedly cool. looks like a giant hand canon and sounds like a space blaster. what more can a sci-fi geek want out of a vacuum. makes it fun!

Buyer Beware!
2 February 2023

I was so excited when I purchased this vacuum, and for approximately 18-20 months it worked great. THEN it began shutting off after only a few seconds of vacuuming. I took care to make sure the filter was clean and followed all manual instructions. I read about how sometimes this would happen and you'd have to put it back on the charger for a minute and then it would work fine. This seemed to be the case, so I let it slide. Fast forward a few more months and gradually the vacuum time has almost completely disappeared! I cannot vacuum with it at all and feel cheated by a product that I now find out has a reputation for not working after a short period of ownership. If only I had known BEFORE I spent $500! So this review is to let you know before you buy that this is a lemon-in-waiting and is not worth it. This was my second Dyson, and I thought it was an upgrade from my upright. But instead it was a regret that stopped working just as the warranty was ending. Dyson does not support offering the appropriate replacement parts even though the company is aware of the faultiness of its product. Instead I have to pay even more money to see if I can get it to work again. I will never buy another Dyson. I urge you to look closely at the reviews for this and other Dyson products before buying them. They are expensive and should be expected to work beyond the 2-year warranty.

Excellent vacuum for mobility issues!
19 September 2022

I bought this after a lot of thought as it was quite a lot of money to spend on a vacuum. It has been a year since I bought this Dyson and I can confirm it is worth every penny.Upon arrival, the Dyson was boxed neatly and securely. Inside the box there was the vacuum itself and all its attachments - one for every household need. It also came with its charger and wall mount for those who want to wall mount the charger.I charged the vacuum up for about 4 hours and it reached its full charge (3 blue bars). Straight away I loved that the vacuum was extremely easy to put together and the attachments were all straightforward enough. Straight away I loved that the vacuum was extremely easy to put together and the attachments were all straightforward enough. You have 3 strength / suction settings on the Dyson (I usually stay on the middle one for my hard-wearing carpets and the low one for my linoleum floors) which you can easily increase / decrease with the sliding button.I have bad mobility issues so I had to choose a vacuum carefully, the one thing I love about this Dyson is that it’s very lightweight and flexible. Another perk is how easy it is to empty and clean the vacuum. The main downside for me, is that you have to keep a hold on the button for the vacuum to operate, it would be great if all you had to do was push it to turn the vacuum on then push again to turn it off. If you have arthritic hands or a hand disability I don’t think it would be a suitable vacuum for you as it can tire the hand a little bit.The vacuum picks cat hairs up excellently, it always amazes me at how much it collects as the carpets never look that bad, but the vacuum says otherwise! For me, the battery lasts about 30-45 minutes which is perfect time. If you need a bit more time and don’t want to wait 4 hours on the vacuum charging all you need is a second battery! If you buy a second battery then you’ll get 60-90 minutes of operating time which is sure to be enough time to vacuum your home from top to bottom.Overall, this vacuum is excellent and really lives up to its claims and description. The quality is fabulous and it doesn’t feel cheap, it is very sturdy. It’s a great investment, especially if you have mobility issues (other than hands).

HORRIBLE VACUUM
2 March 2023

I purchased a Dyson V10 vacuum in 2020. I must say that I am absolutely at my wits end with this vacuum! This piece of junk cannot even vacuum a 2000 square feet, 4 bedroom home, on the medium power setting! This vacuum has been a piece of junk since day one! I have to vacuum the house in two shifts (start vacuuming, then it dies, charge the vacuum, then go back to vacuuming on another day). Sometimes I try to baby it by vacuuming some areas on the lowest setting before I switch up to the medium setting. Even then I can “sometimes” make it thru the whole house, but most of the time I still can't! If you want to use the highest setting… FORGET ABOUT IT! And making myself feel like it is really better than it is, kind of would make me feel not so stupid for spending so much on this vacuum!Well, I'm sure Dyson would post this honest negative review about their product!

The old V6 canister sat upright so balanced better. With this one you are taking all the weight. I’m only small and so might not be an issue for everyone and it is an issue I’m prepared to put up with for such great cleaning and extra canister capacity but worth noting, as puts more strain on back and wrists though still much better than an old corded vac.My main issue is it doesn’t pick up well at the edge off the carpet to the skirting boards, or if you use the standard motorised head on the stairs it doesn’t pick up right to the join. My V6 with the old style head got right up to the edge and there was never a dusty line. This one is disappointing, the hoover I had had left dust in the skirtingboard carpet join, which was noticeable on a light beige carpet my V 6 used to get all of this up, but this V10!this hasn’t picked it all up even on full power. There was a small light weight cat treat at the edge of the carpet (see photo) and it couldn’t pick that up either, even the rubbish hoover would have got that. With my old V6 there was a length of fixed tube before the main bar and tools went on and you could whip of the bar and suck up any rogue items at skirting without having to put the crevice tool on. With this one the design doesn’t allow that. So you need to hoover then go round all skirting with crevice tool after for a full clean which is a bit of a pain, but I guess I’ll get used to.Finally, both my daughter and I have long hair and this has wrapped around the motorised bar, so like the V 6 will need to cut it off after every full house vacuum, but I got used to that.So all in all, I would recommend just thought worth being aware of suction at skirting issue, which I will get used to switching to crevice tool on my way round.Overall I do love it, great suction, great tools, great mess free emptying and is better than anything else but would be good issue for Dyson to fix with the multi head as this seems to be a bit of a flaw. Though perhaps they’ve solved this with later, a lot more expensive models… so worth a go a the price!!

One majorly annoying flaw

I vacuum often and was just sick and tired of getting the big clunker out the closet and using it to vacuum the stairs, so I decided to try this. One really awesome thing is that the primary attachment works on carpet and hardwood. So no need to swap attachments or flip a setting on the vacuum between surfaces. And it works great on hardwood without scuffing up the floor. The suction is pretty good, but I figured it’s unreasonable to expect it to be as good as an upright plugin vacuum. But it still picks up pretty much everything just fine.It does seem to take a ridiculous amount of time to charge. But the battery does last longer than I expected. I still can’t do all 2,400 square feet of the house with one charge. But usually can get it with 2 charges. That ... MoreI vacuum often and was just sick and tired of getting the big clunker out the closet and using it to vacuum the stairs, so I decided to try this. One really awesome thing is that the primary attachment works on carpet and hardwood. I still can’t do all 2,400 square feet of the house with one charge. But usually can get it with 2 charges. That brings me to the reason I had to knock a star off. I don’t care if Dyson decided to charge $250 for a spare battery, I would say it’s worth it. It would make this a great option. But the battery is completely fixed and can’t be removed. So you can’t have a spare. This is especially annoying when you do want to get the whole house vacuumed in one go. But you have to stop and wait a good couple hours half way through. I’m even considering trying the Shark corded stick vacuum because of this.

I've owned my V10 for going on three years. I loved it so much that when I first got it, I bragged so much about it, my whole family bought one. I was looking to purchase a spare charger unit, mine got lost moving. I was stunned to see negative reviews which could lead potential buyers the wrong way. After reading most of them, all I can say is, if you only have half a brain, don't but any vacuum. Not a single person that left a bad review mentioned calling Customer Service to attempt to resolve their issue. I've found 9 times out of ten it something simple like the filter needs cleaning, or is clogged. All easy to resolve issues. I don't know why people waste so much time trying to figure out an issue on their own, only ending up angry and frustrated and blaming ... MoreI've owned my V10 for going on three years. The absolute worse any of my family has experienced is having to replace the battery on my unit after 3 years of heavy use. I use it on my vehicle carpets, cleaning dog hair up several times a day, etc. This is without doubt the best vacuum cleaner I've ever owned. But again, I'd only recommending buying this unit if you are of average intelligence or better, or at least capable of making a call to Customer Service.
