I have a gorgeous rough coat collie that I have since 12 weeks old, he’s now 6, and I have gone through 5 vacuums in six years, this Dyson is my 6th vacuum. His long hair gets caught on the roller of any vacuum, and after each use, I have to take scissors and cut the hair off of the roller, and not an easy task & time consuming. The only issue is that the canister part was a bit difficult to remove off the stick handle in order to empty. I am assuming it’s just because the vacuum is new. The other downside is that you must keep your finger on the “on” button, and the vacuum does not stand up by itself. However, for me, these are minor details. I needed a vacuum that was powerful and where the long collie hair does not get wrapped around that roller. Another bonus is that the vacuum is very light weight. I love this vacuum and I am so impressed with it. It was well worth the expense.

Upon arrival, the Dyson was boxed neatly and securely. Inside the box there was the vacuum itself and all its attachments - one for every household need. It also came with its charger and wall mount for those who want to wall mount the charger. I charged the vacuum up for about 4 hours and it reached its full charge (3 blue bars). Straight away I loved that the vacuum was extremely easy to put together and the attachments were all straightforward enough. You have 3 strength / suction settings on the Dyson (I usually stay on the middle one for my hard-wearing carpets and the low one for my linoleum floors) which you can easily increase / decrease with the sliding button. I have bad mobility issues so I had to choose a vacuum carefully, the one thing I love about this Dyson is that it’s very lightweight and flexible. Another perk is how easy it is to empty and clean the vacuum. The main downside for me, is that you have to keep a hold on the button for the vacuum to operate, it would be great if all you had to do was push it to turn the vacuum on then push again to turn it off. If you have arthritic hands or a hand disability I don’t think it would be a suitable vacuum for you as it can tire the hand a little bit. The vacuum picks cat hairs up excellently, it always amazes me at how much it collects as the carpets never look that bad, but the vacuum says otherwise! For me, the battery lasts about 30-45 minutes which is perfect time. If you need a bit more time and don’t want to wait 4 hours on the vacuum charging all you need is a second battery! If you buy a second battery then you’ll get 60-90 minutes of operating time which is sure to be enough time to vacuum your home from top to bottom. Overall, this vacuum is excellent and really lives up to its claims and description. The quality is fabulous and it doesn’t feel cheap, it is very sturdy. It’s a great investment, especially if you have mobility issues (other than hands).
My new Dyson arrived yesterday am and I was so excited having had a v6 animal for about 9 years, which I loved. This finally gave up last year after a lot of mistreatment from teenagers cleaning their bedrooms, but it had given v good service. I replaced it with a hoover which has been a nightmare no suction, really heavy, so I decided after reading the reviews to go with this as it was a great offer price snd three easy pays. I have really mixed views about it. Pros The suction is excellent only need medium power and it has filled up twice after I had just vacuumed with the hoover, lots of fine dust so showing it is really getting deep down. The slide mechanisms when emptying the canister is a dream no more putting hands in to get stuff out. The special pet tool for furniture and stairs is amazing. Low noise volume which is great for the cats and neighbours. Cons It feels a lot heavier than my old V6, the canister is a lot bigger, but I think it’s also the way the weight is distributed. The old V6 canister sat upright so balanced better. With this one you are taking all the weight. I’m only small and so might not be an issue for everyone and it is an issue I’m prepared to put up with for such great cleaning and extra canister capacity but worth noting, as puts more strain on back and wrists though still much better than an old corded vac. My main issue is it doesn’t pick up well at the edge off the carpet to the skirting boards, or if you use the standard motorised head on the stairs it doesn’t pick up right to the join. My V6 with the old style head got right up to the edge and there was never a dusty line. This one is disappointing, the hoover I had had left dust in the skirtingboard carpet join, which was noticeable on a light beige carpet my V 6 used to get all of this up, but this V10!this hasn’t picked it all up even on full power. There was a small light weight cat treat at the edge of the carpet (see photo) and it couldn’t pick that up either, even the rubbish hoover would have got that. With my old V6 there was a length of fixed tube before the main bar and tools went on and you could whip of the bar and suck up any rogue items at skirting without having to put the crevice tool on. With this one the design doesn’t allow that. So you need to hoover then go round all skirting with crevice tool after for a full clean which is a bit of a pain, but I guess I’ll get used to. Finally, both my daughter and I have long hair and this has wrapped around the motorised bar, so like the V 6 will need to cut it off after every full house vacuum, but I got used to that. So all in all, I would recommend just thought worth being aware of suction at skirting issue, which I will get used to switching to crevice tool on my way round. Overall I do love it, great suction, great tools, great mess free emptying and is better than anything else but would be good issue for Dyson to fix with the multi head as this seems to be a bit of a flaw. Though perhaps they’ve solved this with later, a lot more expensive models… so worth a go a the price!!
I vacuum often and was just sick and tired of getting the big clunker out the closet and using it to vacuum the stairs, so I decided to try this. One really awesome thing is that the primary attachment works on carpet and hardwood. So no need to swap attachments or flip a setting on the vacuum between surfaces. And it works great on hardwood without scuffing up the floor. The suction is pretty good, but I figured it’s unreasonable to expect it to be as good as an upright plugin vacuum. But it still picks up pretty much everything just fine. It does seem to take a ridiculous amount of time to charge. But the battery does last longer than I expected. I still can’t do all 2,400 square feet of the house with one charge. But usually can get it with 2 charges. I’m even considering trying the Shark corded stick vacuum because of this.

The build quality of these machines is terrible, all constructed of cheap plastic and you will have parts break guaranteed! I have had 4 separate parts break on my machine already. I contacted Dyson and their customer support was ok, they only offered me a trade in option where I would get 20% of a purchase of a new model which isn’t terrible but considering I’ve only owned this model for 3 years I figured I’d get a bit more of an offer or deal if you will. I contacted Dyson and their customer support was ok, they only offered me a trade in option where I would get 20% of a purchase of a new model which isn’t terrible but considering I’ve only owned this model for 3 years I figured I’d get a bit more of an offer or deal if you will. I originally just wanted to buy some parts for it to fix it myself, Dyson ended up sending me a link for Genuine Dyson Replacement Parts, however 80% of the parts I needed in order to fix my unit were unavailable or back ordered so that didn’t really help me out. When I first purchased the unit it worked great, great suction, great run times but as time moved on and I used it more the battery has definitely depleted. After 3 years this is unacceptable, these batteries should be lasting far longer than they are. When I first got the unit you where able to run it on full suction mode for like 10 or 15 min, now if you try full suction mode off a full charge it’ll drain the battery within seconds (not over exaggerating at all). They definitely need to either give you a bigger battery with more run time or switch to a different type of battery pack. In conclusion, if you are looking for a great vacuum, don’t choose this model or any of their cordless models until Dyson steps their game up with their construction and durability of their products. Not impressed with this model at all. However, I do highly recommend their corded canister models, far better and much more suction for a lesser price. Save yourself some money and just buy the corded models, you will be much happier guaranteed!!!
I bought this vacuum because it had the best reviews, was within budget and was hoping I could get strong suction and run times out of it so I could clean my whole house without taking out my larger vacuum on days I need to do a faster clean. With the motorised head attached the machine will provide up to 35 minutes on mode one, 20 minutes on mode two and 5 minutes on Max. Without using a motorised tool it can run up to 60 minutes on mode one, 30 minutes on mode two and 5 minutes on Max. You can find a video explaining these modes and how to switch between them on https://youtu.be/mWElDYPJMBo." Motorised tool is not defined anywhere. 5. The Youtube video states: "In 'Suction Mode 2' runtime will be up to 20 minutes when used with a large cleaner head. Use 'Suction Mode 1' when vacuuming any flooring on which you may experience greater resistance. In 'Suction Mode 1' runtime will be up to 30 minutes when used with a large cleaner head. ... In 'Maximum Suction Mode' runtime will be up to 6 minutes when used with a large cleaner head." All these different terms used to refer to the same thing and mislead customers about the actual functioning capacity of the product is shameful. The stated run times are also not consistent across all sources of information. How is the customer meant to know how this vacuum functions?! A customer should not need to make all the enquiries above to finally understand that actually, for this vacuum to vacuum barely the 60 mins stated, you can't use the vacuum head you'd want to use 95% of the time!! With that head you would get a maximum of 30 minutes run time. Although the suction of the vacuum is great, a thirty minute run time is not what I paid $899 for. I paid $1000 for the large high performance vacuum that I purchased 5 years ago. The fact that there isn't a finger free option to keep the vacuum running without having to hold down the trigger (and you'd only be able to find this out if you read the reviews before you purchase) makes it clear that the vacuum was never meant for use longer than 15 minutes. I'm absolutely dismayed at how deceiving the advertising of this company is in relation to run times. I will be returning this product.
for cat hair = amazing dust= amazing cat litter on the wood ground = do not even bother non carpet areas= do not bother car cleaning equipments = i do not know how the company released them! it does the job but it does not do anything different than my old $100 target vacuum . so it is up to you. Dyson website has 3.8 user reviews and it was more reviews here , trusted and bought it. It has been a month. I used almost every other day. after first use i was so impressed bc I was bllndfolded by the money that I paid. Now after some use, I literally do not think it worths it. If you buy from Bestbuy, vacuum comes with some acceserios in it but Dyson website sells them. So good to buy here. But when i use for car (cleaning dog hair on the sit) . I was shock that it cleaned only %5 of hair! I am mad and feel stupid to be honest and I should have gone with some other brand comes with half price and same perform.
