So my 2 year old LOVES to play with my vacuum hose and suck things up but it's so loud! I read that the hose on this vacuum has actual suction. I had to get it. Received it the other evening and unfortunately within a few hours the motor would make a horrible sound (like when you hear someone edging their lawn and the metal blade hits the cement) no lie. It would make that sound when I changed the vacuum between the different modes. And eventually stopped working all together. Brand new batteries were used, nothing was dropped, etc. So unfortunately I had to return it to the store (Walmart was awesome when I returned it, so if I have to return again, at least I know I won't have any problems...but I hope I won't have to). Call me a glutton for punishment but my 2 year old LOVED this so I ordered a new one. So we will see if this one does the same. I will update once I get the new one. But none of the other issues had happened (yet) that the other buyers stated. I will agree with the comments that the suction is really really mild. I had torn tiny pieces of paper so that my 2 year old could pick up and it worked. But I never thought of hole punching paper for confetti...great idea!

This vacuum closely resembles my real Dyson. Me 5 yr old son loves to play with it. Almost perfect in every way but…The only drawback is that the hose on the back of the vacuum is a little short and not flexible enough. My son has a little bit of difficulty to reattach it to the vacuum once removed. It is just a bit too stiff to be easily manipulated. He really loves the fact that the vacuum does create some suction and will pick up the dust bunnies and other light objects.

I bought this vacuum for my two-year-old son to play with. The very first day that I put the vacuum together the hose broke off and would not go back on. By the end of the first week the batteries died, I even used the high-quality expensive kind but it didn't matter. I tried using a different brand but it did the same thing, died within the week. I always made sure that the vacuum was not turned on if it was not being used. By the end of the second week the handle broke off, I had to duck tape the handle back on in order for it to stay so my son could keep playing with it. I would like to add, that my son is not extra rough on his toys. Four days later, one of the wheels broke off, broke clean off, cannot be fixed! Please do not waste your money on this vacuum, it ... MoreI bought this vacuum for my two-year-old son to play with. Excellent toy keeping my 18 month old granddaughter happily entertained complete with cyclone effect clear chamber. Box states 3 years plus but all parts are securely fitted and have identified no safety issues. Larger removable parts are too big to swallow so no chocking risk, responsible parenting provided of course. She plays with it all the time and insists on taking it everywhere.Good present worth the money.
I purchased this for a granddaughter who was turning two. She was thrilled! She received so many of her favorite Minion Toys, and Minnie Mouse favorites too, but when she saw the vacuum, she put all the others aside. There was a little bit of putting together that was needed before she could play with it but she was patient with us. Once it was together, she went to town with it. It makes a real vacuum cleaner sound and it does actually "pick up" little bits of dust, etc.You can't use it to clean your house but this kid really thought she was cleaning the floors. Her 9 year old cousin was evenly as excited using this Dyson Vacuum!
Very disappointed. All of the descriptions I have read on this vacuum talk about how it "REALLY sucks", what they fail to mention is that it is only the attached hose that has any suction to it, that the hose is only like 1.5 feet long, not stretchy, and that it only has enough suction to suck up about a feather or maybe a piece of confetti. The whirlwind action is pretty cool, except that the balls inside have all been permanently attached to the walls of the container due to static electricity, so it doesn't actually work anymore. The bottom of the vacuum is positioned so that when you are trying to push it on carpet the corners keep getting stuck into the carpet and my toddler has a hard time moving it. The wheels are so incredibly squeaky, I can't believe how ... MoreVery disappointed. The bottom of the vacuum is positioned so that when you are trying to push it on carpet the corners keep getting stuck into the carpet and my toddler has a hard time moving it. The wheels are so incredibly squeaky, I can't believe how annoying it is. I'm only giving two stars because it does look just like my vacuum and my 18 month old loves to get it out when I'm cleaning with mine because she's so excited that she has one too.
My 2 year old son loves this. He hasn't let it out of his sight since he first saw it. He always wanted to be like Mom and run the sweeper and now he can. I was totally floored when I found out that it actually did have some suction to pick up small pieces of dirt. It's not a dyson but it really does work on small things. And, best of all, it's not a loud noise maker. There are two settings: one that just blows pieces of plastic around the dirt chamber and a second that runs suction through the detachable handle. The second setting is a little louder than the first but it never gets annoying . This has to be one of the most realistic toys that doesn't become one of those ones you want to hide after first hearing it.
Very disappointed in this product. Right from the beginning it was falling apart. The bottom vacuum head doesn’t stay on; and is impossible to push on carpet. Also the only thing that “vaccuums†is the hose when you detatch it and that doesnt even work good. I wouldn’t waste your money.
Absolutely worthless! Save your money and buy a cheaper toy that has sounds and colorful balls that spin in the dirt collector. There is only suction in the wand and it is so hard for little ones to take off and put back on. This sweeper only has enough suction to “maybe†pick up a feather. So disappointed
I bought this because my grandson loves pushing the vacuum around at home. I thought this would work well because it is small and light compared to their home vacuum. Unfortunately this one has too many pieces for a 13 month old and the pieces fall off when he drops the handle. The vacuum isn't broken it just has attachments. It supposedly works if you use the hose but I don't see a small child using that part unless they are closer to 4. It was lightweight which was nice but since I bought it for a much younger child it isn't the best. Not that it isn't a good product though. I bought it for a very good price ($7.00) so I can put it away for a few years.
