I never knew how much a cordless vacuum could make my life easier. I suffer with chronic pain and vacuuming has always been one of the most difficult jobs for me. Over the last week I have cleaned my carpeted stairs, my furniture and dog hair out of the truck. I love how powerful the Dyson v7 motor is and it came with every attachment I needed. I often wondered if the steep price of the Dyson vacuums were really worth it. After this week I honestly feel they are. I never realized how much of a pain it is dragging around a cord, searching for an outlet and cracking out the extension cord really is and how much time the Dyson v7 trigger would save me. What a toy??? But you proved me wrong. My room mate watches a lot of TV, spills chips and stuff all over the couch, so good to get into the cushions with this. It is also very light in the hand you can really move it around obsolesces and into tight area. It is fantastic for vacuuming the car. EVERYTHING in the car is a tight fit, obstacles, and just hard with the regular vacuum. Has great suction, even more then some vacuums. The cordless makes it even better trying to get into those tight areas, being cordless is amazing. I recommend an extension piece that will extend the attachments deeper into tight areas. Want to vacuum the car trunk. Almost have to climb into the trunk to vacuum. Maybe a 18 inch extension. I have fibromyalgia. A chronic non curable disease ... MoreWhat a toy??? Bought to replace a DC35 that gave up the ghost. It comes with a nozzle, a rotating "turbo" floor brush and a furnishings brush. It does NOT have a long extender tube. Annoyingly none of our old attachments are compatible with the new machine even though the nozzle diameter is the same. The battery has a different charging socket so the old chargers don't work either, whilst on the plus side the new batteries have a multi-coloured LED indicator that tracks charge state and progress. Haven't had it long enough to judge battery capacity and life. The emptying mechanism is completely different - you pull the cyclone module UP and then the bottom flap opens and the debris drops our - this avoids leaving bits wedged around the cyclone and is a great improvement. I guess the reason it's named "trigger" is that the switch is incredibly sensitive - the merest touch starts it up. The motor runs on longer than the DC34 (we still have) - which might indicate that it's more efficient, or that the suction is slightly less. but it works well and does the job.

I find them long, boring and generally believe that an item (especially a hand held vacuum cleaner) should be easy to use and require little direction. I had no problem using the device - I'm just not sure what all the different attachments are for. I love that there are several, but I think it would have been just as good with only a couple. Also - there's no bag or other container, so storing the attachments will require finding an appropriate container. Again, not a big deal, but in my perfect world, I wish it had a bag for them.I will likely buy this as a Christmas gift for my family. It's really that good.

That's never going to happen. After a little more than a year I have found this product to be a great disappointment. Specifically, the battery life is horrible. At the high setting I am lucky to get 15 minutes of use. If I take the Dyson off the charger , use it for 3 or 4 minutes, then leave it on the counter, the next day it has no charge, even with no use during the 24 hour interval. As for charging, sometimes when I plug it in to the charger, leave it for 8 hours , then use it, it is fully charged. I remembered they were a waste of time and money to use. I saw the Dyson handheld models but the price was shocking. I figured you usually get what you pay for, so I pulled the trigger and got the V7 because it was closer to my high end price range that I was willing to pay. I love this little brother of the big Dyson!!! It is very powerful, and the rotary brush attachment is amazing how well it picks all of the dog hair up with little effort. The only down side is on the high speed setting the power drains pretty fast. I love how easy it is to dust my house in the low speed. I can go almost 30 minutes before it gets tired and dies. I will always have these Dyson big and small brothers to keep my house spotless with the least effort!!
