I’ve had the Hot+Cool HP01 for about 2 years now and from week one it had intermittent issues where it would display error code H2, stop heating and wind up the fan as if it were cooling an overheated part. This occurred in two separate small rooms where it was intended to augment the central heating to maintain a modest 68-70 degree temperature. This failure state is problematic because the machine does not return to functioning after it has “cooled down” and will not work again until it is unplugged, so it cannot be relied upon. I’ve been told this is not an issue with the machine and is due to current fluctuations. If this is the case it is an extreamly poor design because no other appliances seem to be impacted by the fluctuation and it renders the heating ... MoreI’ve had the Hot+Cool HP01 for about 2 years now and from week one it had intermittent issues where it would display error code H2, stop heating and wind up the fan as if it were cooling an overheated part. While the fan design is nice, and the air filter is appreciated, I would recommend saving your money on the heating option and simply pair the fan with a reliable radiator style heater. I would like to rate the fan and air purifier higher than a 1 star, but I think people are to complacent about giving mediocre reviews to products that do not fulfill the function advertised especially from a company that demands a premium for allegedly superior products . Had I known what I know now, I would have made a different purchasing decision.

The Dyson HP01 was easy to setup. It runs quiet and is very effective on both the cooling and the heating side. The small footprint is a real plus and we love the remote control. We bought this item primarily to warm our theater space in the basement during cold snaps--which it does very well. A side benefit is the fact that it works as a great fan in other locations in our house when temperatures rise. This has enabled us to reduce dependence on AC on hot days. In fact, this is where we get the most bang for the buck.Absolutely love it.

I purchased the HP02 Hot + Cool unit in 2019 and it started having issues before it was 2 years old (while it was still in warranty). It started showing error code "E" on the display on the machine and the app showed "fault detected" and would no longer control the unit. Whenever that happened, it would blow cold air, but would no longer heat.I brought the unit to the repair center 3 separate times and they could never isolate the problem. Instead, they had me buy new $70 filters to try to correct it. The filters never fixed it, and now that it's out of warranty, it completely stopped working and smelled like it was burning up. But because Dyson's repair center couldn't find the problem while it was under warranty, I'm stuck with this broken, useless $600 piece of ... MoreI purchased the HP02 Hot + Cool unit in 2019 and it started having issues before it was 2 years old (while it was still in warranty). Terrible value for the extremely high price.

I wanted to wait awhile before foing a review to see how well this worked as a room space heater. I can say it works amazingly well. We live in a drafty apartment in the midwest so when we had the bomb cyclone before Christmas this cleaned our air and heated our living room so comfortably well. I didn’t have to adjust the fan above the 5 level. I just set the temp. I want and let it go. Amazing no indoor icicles on the window or in the “fireplace”. I never worried about over heating since it auto shuts of the heat part when temperature is reached. That said it is well worth purchase price as it does a good job purifying our air too. I’ve had less dust to deal with. I really love that it has a timer. I never have to worry about it and thats why I buy Dyson.
This is an excellent purifier with a great filter. I noticed a huge difference in my allergies within 24 hours of purchase. I slept better and I woke up without congestion. There are a lot of people writing reviews that really don't know what they're talking about. First of all, it's not meant as an AC - this goes for their entire line of purifiers. All it takes is to read the name of the 500 dollar product you are purchasing - "Purifier, heater, and fan - iron/silver" - see? Not that hard.Second, when you use the heating function - if the sensor detects that the room temperature is equivalent to your target temperature, then it will start blowing neutral, purified air without heating it. Not that hard.Second, when you use the heating function - if the sensor detects that the room temperature is equivalent to your target temperature, then it will start blowing neutral, purified air without heating it. If you want it to keep blowing out hot air, you just have to increase the temperature to something higher than your current room temperature. Again, this isn't rocket science folks - when it's 74 degrees in your room, putting the heater on 75 isn't going to make it blow hot air for 5 hours. You can see whether the air is actually being heated by the red dot next to the temperature. Once it hits that temperature, the red dot will turn white. This means it's maintaining that temperature, not blowing hot air. These are very basic uses of the product, and since it seems many reviewers here can't read a manual for a product they paid 500 dollars for - I don't really know what kind of product would make them happy. The fan is far superior to any blade fan I've used, the heat is soft and won't burn you - but it will heat up a medium sized room within 5 minutes. The purifier filter was working well since the first day I used it.
Hands-down this should be on Oprah’s list of favorite things. I purchased in 2018 and have had no service or technology issues. I most often use the heat setting and love that I can adjust the temp. I appreciate so many other features as well such as the timer, ability to adjust the airflow, ability to control temperature settings from the app, and most of all the air filtration. Allergy sufferers in my home have had a decrease in their symptoms. I am purchasing a second one for another room. It will be my 9th Dyson purchase and I have been highly satisfied with all of Dyson’s products thus far.
I have used this as a heater, a fan, and as its default air purifier. It outshines single-purpose space heaters or small fans because it can both heat and fan a space. (Though it certainly won't replace an air conditioner, it can provide a pleasant breeze.) The heat and fan settings have several different strength levels too, unlike other appliances that may only have a low and high setting.I think the air filter is always running, regardless of temperature setting, but I'm not actually sure about that. I thought I read everything thoroughly, but I'm still unclear. At any rate, there's no specific way to turn the air filtration on or off, so I assume it's always on. It helped clean the air after my roommate brought in a very musty couch... I couldn't be anywhere ... MoreI have used this as a heater, a fan, and as its default air purifier. I couldn't be anywhere near the couch at first, but this air filter definitely helped.I also like the unique design with the hollow center. It's very easy to carry simply by sticking an arm through the center. Not too heavy either, but it won't topple over easily.Overall, a handy thing to have! I'm glad I bought it.
I bought this Dyson to use as a heater during the winter months but was pleasantly surprised to discover how well the cooling fan works now that summer is here! I use it 24/7 in the bedroom and keep the door closed to keep the cool air in the room. The fan oscillates to cool the whole room or it can be used stationary to provide focused cooling. The unit has a thermostat and heats or cools depending on the temperature setting. I highly recommend this heating and cooling fan and I know I’ll be using it year-round. Another great Dyson product.
I purchased a Dyson Pure Cool in December 2019. In general, I liked how the unit worked - it was quiet and seemed to do a decent job purifying the air in my living room. It also looks nice, it is sleek and has a nice design. Unfortunately, the unit stopped working in February 2022 (after approximately 25 months, 1 month after the warranty ended) and started displaying an exclamation point. I tried all the troubleshooting tricks to no avail. I called the Dyson support line to see if I could get the unit repaired but they kept trying to get me to 'trade up' for a new model because I was out of warranty. I found this frustrating because I spent a lot of money on this unit just over 2 years ago and now the only option I was given was to spend hundreds of dollars to replace the unit. For the price (and environment), these units should last for more than 2 years and if they don't there should be a way to fix it and not need to buy a whole new unit. I don't know about other people buying these units but I expected Dyson to have better quality machines. So, I guess if you are happy to buy a new unit every two years, this could be the machine for you.I definitely would not recommend this machine to anyone, and I won't be buying any other Dyson products due to the poor quality and unhelpful customer service.
I bought this machine approximately 1 month ago. I was very happy with the heating function. It literally warmed my entire living room and we were using the home heating less. About 3 weeks into owning this unit I noticed it was stating to get a little noisy. We cleaned it and it seemed fine. Now, today 2/15/2023, the unit started to get a little more noisy while oscillating. We turned it off as recommended. Now, it will not oscillate at all and fan speeds are not functioning either. Again, I was very happy with this unit for the first 3 weeks. I’m hoping it will cool off enough and work again but I’m not overly confident that it will. I would think for the money this unit cost, it should work without so many issues and such a short period of time.
