With then Dyson the great thing is that the heating elements never exceed 200C, which is below the burning point of dust so theres no worrying smell. The dual function is another fabulous feature that wont disappoint. The cooling function is great for the hot Australian days and nights and the oscillation and tilt function come in handy. As an asthmatic, I also value the the purification features of the Dyson. It automatically removes 99.97% of allergens and pollutants. Given that I have 2 dogs it really works a treat to help me breathe and cleans the air quality in my apartment. I highly recommend this top quality and sleek designed Dyson product.

It's a little slow to wind up but not as slow as the conventional space heater I have or others I've had in the past. The one thing that I found confusing was that the cooling has no temperature setting. So it seems a bit misleading to call it 'cooling' when it's just a fan setting. As we're in winter, it's hard for me to say how effective the cooling part of it is. I wish there was some info somewhere about its energy efficiency though.I think I'll need more time to properly assess the effectiveness of the purifier component. But, out of curiosity, I've been running it on a low fan setting to see how accurate the sensors were. It has been tracking fine all day until I was cooking. It seemed to accurately detect when I was cooking and filling up the apartment with smoke and other volatile material.I'll be keeping track to see how well it does with the particular matter over time. I've got hayfever year round so I'd like to see if having the purifier around helps.To wrap, it's left an excellent first impression. As I haven't used this for long enough, I can't comment on whether I'd pay full retail price on it. But, if it was on sale I'd seriously consider it as a long-term investment, especially with regards to how well it fits into a smart home setup.

I am generally a fan of Dyson products and I purchased this Pure Hot and Cool heater believing it would be worth the high price tag. The product looks good and has a good mobile app to control it.Unfortunately within 3 days of gentle use, the product failed and flashed up a warning triangle error which could not be cleared.After spending a huge amount of time on hold with the Dyson helpline, I was finally advised that the product needed to be returned and replaced. The remote control/Dyson Link app provides access to a 10 level fan speed, Hot/Cold mode with temperature settings, ability to set oscillation at varying degrees from 45 to 350, an off timer or the ability to set a weekly schedule for on/off, as well as a night mode for quieter operation and a dimmed LCD screen which is great if using in the bedroom. The app/LCD display also provides details on the Filter life, and after a few weeks of use now it is still showing as 100%. The Heat/Cool function has worked well in small-medium rooms. It took the chill out of the air in a bedroom in Hot mode, and is able to cool you down, but it is worth noting that is a fan an not an air conditioner so it won't cool/chill a room down like an air conditioner would. There is a breeze is generated by the machine, as you would expect from a fan. However the machine had an added feature of being able to change the airflow direction and ventilate airflow to the reverse of the machine. This is great when you want to purify the air without the airflow. Overall, its a great air purifier with the added benefit of HotCold.

I had to register for a Dyson account, then the app detects any unit near by and then simply pressing the power button on the selected unit with the app open would connect the app to unit. I could then connect the unit to WiFi using the app which automatically registered the product warranty with Dyson. Superb.______________________________________________________________________Operation: 5/5May be because it was set to such a 31c by default upon switching it on for the first time or simply because it was just the first time it was being used, I could sense the 'burning smell' that you get from heaters that Dyson said we won't with this unit. Either way, I set the temperature to 24c (room temperature 19c), the smell was no longer there and 1 hour later the room (4m x 4m double brick room) was not just warm in the direction the Dyson unit was operating, but even in the corners that it wasn't facing! The air circulation done by the unit was excellent and much better than I expected.The app not only lets you control the unit in pretty much all the ways I can with remote, it also allows me to schedule the fan as I would want, remotely control the unit even with me not being in the same room (unit needs to be connected to wifi for this to work) and display all kinds of information such as current room temperature, PM/VOC levels, air quality overall and humidity.______________________________________________________________________Misses, Ongoing costs & features I wish it had:Misses: If I were being extremely picky, I wished that the fan had retractable cord or cord storage.Ongoing costs: There is a filter to be replaced every 12 months, which is fair considering the air purifying function. I do the same with the air filter that I currently on.Features I wish it had:If I am being wishful, I might as well wish that this product also had dehumidifier functionality! We've been using the Dyson Purifier HotCool now for about 4 weeks. Its design is beautiful and blends into the decor of our house perfectly. What is beautiful with it's design aesthetics - No nasty heating elements that burn your face off when sitting close to it - No nasty cooling blades that you could hurt your fingers or catch your hair - No 'in your face' filters that are unsightly It's portability and lightweight design is a great advantage to moving it from room to room We are in winter now and we are utilising it in all the bedrooms (the coldest rooms in the house and we take it in turns). What is beautiful with it's design aesthetics - No nasty heating elements that burn your face off when sitting close to it - No nasty cooling blades that you could hurt your fingers or catch your hair - No 'in your face' filters that are unsightly It's portability and lightweight design is a great advantage to moving it from room to room We are in winter now and we are utilising it in all the bedrooms (the coldest rooms in the house and we take it in turns). Using the sleek remote control is great too as we don't have to get out of bed to change it or switch it off The magnetic design of the remote control is a god send if your household is anything like mine, it's less likely to get lost. The phone app is so convenient too and can be operated from anywhere. I like using the phone app to track the air quality, and monitor the nasty's around my house (not that there are any) So how does the magic happen To put it simply it's SMART AND INUITIVE It's integrated system automatically senses and detects nasty's in the air, sends it to its brain, analysis's, reports and diagnoses what it needs to do and sends out the good air So Bad air in - good air out - SIMPLES! ) I like it, I recommend it if you have a household with pets (and you know the nasty smells that emanate from them - am I right) or house members with sensitive noses.

Both the heating and cooling functions are powerful and effective – this purifier has replaced my pedestal fan. I also love how this machine looks: it’s sleek and modern, with a design that doesn’t take up too much space in my apartment. The heating function is slightly noisy at all fan speeds, but I was impressed with how quiet the fan/cooler is.
