Best decision we've made about cleaning in at least last half a decade (by-far)! The real game changer is the Illuminated soft roller cleaner head for hard floors, it's just genuine innovation from dyson - it works (that simple). No other vacuum tool I have tried does anything near as decent, plus it then left my hard floors looking like it was just polished. This, in addition to the Digital Motorbar™ cleaner head with de-tangling technology - is superb. I actually did a comparison test here; I vacuumed the stair well with the Cinetic Big ball turbine head vs. the V15 motorised head (immediately after the big ball). At the first clean, the motorised head removed significantly more (~80%+ est.) dust / sand, likely sand/dust which has gotten stuck in the carpet over time. The carpet actually looks refreshed now although some deep stains have now been highlighted as a fall out. Dyson need to consider getting these two tools made for all their vacuum variants particularly the most recent versions across corded categories (e.g., big ball, etc.). Not sure how that works for their bottom line, but it may be a 'refreshment' offering for existing Dyson vacuum owners who don't want to spend as much on a vacuum upgrade.

I’ve never in my life owned a Dyson but I finally decided to splurge and I’m glad I did! Here are my first impressions after getting up at the crack of dawn excited to test it out haha! It’s much quieter than I thought which is appreciated for those early morning cleanups after my toddler makes a mess but my older daughter is still sleeping. That laser is amazing but terrible at the same time…holy lord the stuff it was bringing to my attention was wild. I love the attachments and the one that lets you make it a 90 angle to go right under couches and furniture…chefs kiss. The floor dok is also a really nice feature as I don’t really have somewhere to mount it to the wall. It’s definitely heavier than I anticipated it to be. The floor dok is also a really nice feature as I don’t really have somewhere to mount it to the wall. It’s definitely heavier than I anticipated it to be. I do find I’m switching arms a lot so for someone who may be older or limited mobility it may be a bit cumbersome. I don’t hate that you have to press the button constantly to keep it on as it’s easier when you need to stop and go, but I do find it a bit awkward and my hand is a touch sore. I had it fully charged and used it for just over an hour and it’s now dead; I accomplished two floors, two sets of stairs and a couch set in that time. I only have hard floors besides two area rugs which are ruggables, and with the laser brush it has to be on eco otherwise it pulls them up. The other head it comes with does not work at all over ruggables. I don’t have any other ‘carpet’ so I cannot speak to its abilities with that. There are so many attachments this model comes with but there’s no where to store them - I would like to see some extra attachments for the floor dok to store them all. All in all though, highly satisfied with my purchase. I feel as though this is a prime example of “pay for what you get”. It’s a hefty price tag but I suspect this will last me years!

Upon opening the box, I was very happy with the amount of accessories and attachments that are included. We charged it up and of course had to try it out immediately when it was finished (considering how awesome it looks and feels). It worked fabulously for almost exactly five minutes, then the particle sensor turned itself off. Afterward, the LCD screen will crash when trying to change any setting (including turning on the sensor or changing language). It will either become black after a second of being on, or actually crash when showing the countdown. It seems to be a hiccup in the software. Was adviced to charge it for another 8 hours and then try again. Very disappointed that a premium product such as this would break within the first 5 minutes of useage (!) and then not include any way to reset the software, which most likely would fix the problem. The vacuum works as expected otherwise, but I paid a premium for these extra features. Customer support was very helpful (even if I don't think they necessarily know how to fix these issues) and offered to send us a new one of the charging fix did not resolve the issue. We decided to return the vacuum via the retailer we got it from and instead order a new one directly from Dyson, as this is probably faster. I will give Dyson the benefit of the doubt on this issue, but still feel like it's a very weird choice from a customer experience perspective to not include a factory reset on a "smart" product. This would most likely solve the issue without Dyson needing to send vacuums or spare parts back and forth. Getting in contact with the customer service from Sweden was also kind of a hassle. The chat is always unavailable and there was quite a long queue to the people when calling from a phone. Everyone was very helpful and friendly, so kudos for that! I ended up using WhatsApp, which doesn't give you a clear idea on how long you should wait to talk with someone, so you easily get disconnected. Otherwise, I will keep my high expectations and for the five minutes it worked, this is probably the best cordless vacuum I have ever had the chance to try. In two swoops, it cleaned our persian carpet from cat hair on a straight line, a feat not even our Cord Dragon can do for about half the effort. Will wait and see if the new model also has the same issue (or the dreaded "clean filter" issue I've seen mentioned). I will am hoping for excellency here! It really would be an absolutely amazing vacuum, if the software worked as intended.

Brilliant, the best Dyson I have ever purchased.
11 October 2022

Without a doubt, the best Dyson that I have ever purchased. I had previously purchased and used The V8 Absolute, which I thought was great. I had no idea when the V15 would be delivered, and I had to use the V8 to clean up crumbs from the lounge carpet after dropping a plate. No sooner as I had cleaned the carpet, a knock on the door and my V15 had arrived. I hastily opened the huge box and placed my new ‘toy’ in charge. By the time it had fully charged, I had put the wand and other tools together and read the instructions. I decided to try the V15 on my lounge carpet. The same comments could be said about the Auto setting. However, I was totally blown away by the Boost setting. What finished up in the debris chamber amazed me. Three months before, I had used Shake and Vac on all the carpets in my home. Once a month, I have cleaners come to complete a clean, and the house is always spotless. Remembering I had already used my V8 earlier in the day and then tried both the Eco and then Auto settings on the lounge carpet, I used the V15 on Boost and what appeared in the chamber astonished me. Dirt, grit and remnants of white Shake and Vac powder. Truly surprising, the number of times the carpet had been vacuumed, yet the amount of dirt it sucked up astonished me. Undoubtedly, a superb Dyson, the best ever, with excellent suction. I highly recommend the V15 Detect.

I've been a huge fan of another vacuum cleaner and still I am. I needed something lighter and portable but I never thought I'd spent so much money on a cleaning appliance. The fact that it is small enough and cordless played a huge factor when choosing this product. Some reviewers talk about useless gimmicks. I disagree because knowing what's in the room you're cleaning can help to make lifestyle changes. Laser or no laser: again it's an option that some people find helpful. When it comes to the trigger issue, I understand people with a condition might find it uncomfortable. The point is that the trigger is very sensitive and doesn't need to be pressed with force. When it comes to the trigger issue, I understand people with a condition might find it uncomfortable. The point is that the trigger is very sensitive and doesn't need to be pressed with force. I think Dyson listened to the feedback and offers other products with a switch and they're also lighter. The filter issue: there's no issue because some users are pressing (accidentally) the trigger and that causes the dust to go straight to the filter. If you're one of those users who can't avoid that, remove the battery before emptying the vacuum. The battery life: I've used the vacuum for three days in auto mode; it is still charged. I might be lucky but I find this product amazing. My old vacuum cleaner is heavy and took me forever to clean a three bedrooms house. With the Dyson vacuuming is effortless. I highly recommend the V15 absolute. It might not be for everyone but the best thing to do is to talk to the Dyson employees in stores so they can suggest the right product for your needs.

Incredible vacuum!

We have had a full size corded dyson for years and love it— except for the cord. This thing is just as powerful but by being cordless you can clean the house with ease. You really don’t fully understand the difference until you start using it. We now vacuum up messes that previously “weren’t bad” and would previously wait until we do a more thorough clean. Even better, my husband now will just start vacuuming with it because he thinks the light on it is fun! About the light- it sounds like a gimmick but it’s actually pretty cool. You can see exactly where the dust is on the hardwood floor and it helps you realize what areas are dirtier than others. The V15 also has a sensor that calculates the amount of dust/dirt that it’s picking up and automatically changes the suction based on the task in hand. This is huge since it saves a ton of battery life. We can easily vacuum our entire 2,000 sq ft house with battery life to spare. The carpet tool that’s included is also great for rugs and the hair tool is perfect for the sofa. The absolute model also has a built in wand so you can clean tight spaces as you go around the house. We have a shiba inu who sheds his entire coat twice a year (for the summer and winter) so this has really been keeping our house a lot cleaner in regards to having dog hair everywhere. One note- if the dog decides to dig up a houseplant just take out the full size vacuum. While this vacuum is great for normal everyday cleaning, for big projects (like dirt from a plant all over your bathroom) you will still need the corded one. Thank you dyson, this has changed our life!

Love this hoover! Don't be too put off the negative reviews!
30 March 2023

I bought this hoover a month ago, after doing some extensive research and reading a lot of reviews on cordless hoovers from all brands. Most reviews seemed to be negative, but I spoke to Dyson UK about a few questions I had, and eventually bit the bullet and decided to buy it. I'm glad the bad reviews didn't sway my decision, as I'm absolutely delighted with this hoover! It's brilliant at cleaning for a start, I thought my floors were clean, until I used this! The battery life is good and allows me to use the Auto setting and clean the entire house (3 bedrooms) in one charge. If you put it on the boost setting (which isn't necessary for standard cleans) it obviously doesn't last very long, but you'd only need the boost setting for really dirty areas I would say. If you put it on the boost setting (which isn't necessary for standard cleans) it obviously doesn't last very long, but you'd only need the boost setting for really dirty areas I would say. I think a lot of people may not read the full spec entirely as it does state that the run time is less for the boost function. The trigger is really light to hold in, I was dubious about having to hold the trigger, but I forget I'm pushing it in half the time as it's so easy to press and hold. The hoover itself is pretty light, I don't find that my arms hurt at all, and it's easy to lift to hoover stairs, for example (I am an able-bodied person, so can't comment on the weight for those that are less fortunate). It comes with lots of cleaning parts, the attachment for cleaning areas where pets sleep etc is amazing! All in all, I'd definitely recommend this hoover! It's pretty much the exact same model as the Absolute, it comes with the fluffy roller attachment for hard floors which has the laser beam, which is pretty cool. And it's cheaper than the Absolute too! Great service, really speedy delivery too! Go buy it if you're looking for a cordless hoover with all the trimmings!

Not what I was expecting

I absolutely love, and I mean love Dyson vacuums. There is nothing that comes close to the performance and quality of their machines. To this day, I still use and operate an aged V7 and another 10+ year old corded model. Both vacuums are outstanding when it comes to power, performance, and longevity. My wife has donated the corded version for my construction and renovation work because, "It's too heavy to push around." I personally disagree with her, but if anyone would like to know how well these machines hold up over time, this corded version is no stranger to heavy cementitious dust and other construction, demolition, and renovation debris. It refuses to quit! Now with respect to the V15, it has been reported to be the most powerful battery operated vacuum, to ... MoreI absolutely love, and I mean love Dyson vacuums. Now with respect to the V15, it has been reported to be the most powerful battery operated vacuum, to date, manufactured by Dyson. My wife and I wanted Dyson's very best, and so we made our purchase of their V15 Detect Absolute. We ordered and received the unit directly from Dyson, and the shipping box arrived in perfect condition without any evidence of tampering or damage. Upon opening and removing all the vacuum pieces, I was shocked to find several parts damaged. I am only allowed to 6 photos, but many more exist illustrating the damages. The aluminum extension tube came with a dent, the outside of the motor housing exhibits significant scratches and scuffs on several of the venturi structures, one attachment with gouged plastic (refer to image), and lastly, the clear plastic portion on the motorhead unit indicates internal circumferential wear, and per my experience and observation with owning and operating several Dyson vacuums over many years, this indication of wear seems to only be achieved after the unit has been used. To be clear, we placed an order for a new vacuum, and not a refurbished one. I am aware that Dyson does test their units, and evidence of such testing is to be expected; however, what I observed is beyond just factory testing. Needless to say, but will, it is being returned. The return process is made quite easy by the manufacturer. Something that is not readily discussed amongst Dyson owners, but I find may serve as a point of interest to some considering a purchase of a Dyson slimline style vacuum, is that they are designed in such a way that a thorough internal cleaning of the canister and venturis are next to impossible with compressed air. With my V7, I am able to visualize and blast out all dust accumulated in the unit. The slimline affords no way for the owner/ user to accomplish such a task. Trust me, if you have not yet used compressed air to clean the inner workings of your Dyson, you will be dumbfounded once you do. I am not talking about a can of compressed air used to dust off keyboards and electronics, I am referring to the compressed air originating from an air compressor. I am very diligent, to a fault, in cleaning my vacuums and power tools after each use. With the design of the slimline models, I just don't see how this could be pragmatically performed without complete disassembly and most likely voiding the warranty. Lastly, and with respect to performance, Dyson states that the V15 is their most powerful cordless vacuum to date. I disagree. I did a comparison of the suction power between my very aged V7 and the V15. Without a doubt, the V7 substantially exhibits a much greater suction force than the V15. I am not sure if the V15 that I purchased simply lacks the power to rival the V7, or if the unit is defective. The V15 starts up and sounds great without any signs that would indicate that the motor is not performing up to its expected standard. I only hope that the performance and appearance of the unit I received is an uncommon isolated occurrence, as I know my other Dyson products I purchased new, in the past, were received in impeccable condition, and their performance is just absolutely amazing!

So good it needs a bigger collection

I’ve got to be honest. I wasn’t really looking forward to converting to a cordless hoover from my corded animal ball 2… But, that said I do recommend it as a good buy. I’m really impressed with the amount of dirt this picked up when hoovering my entire downstairs in auto mode & did use boot option a few times. My house is a 4 bedroom medium sized house and this hoover tackled everything I threw at it. I have two toddlers aged 3 & 4 and a Newfoundland large breed fluff ball of a dog that moults so much I’ve shaved the dog to save on grooming time & cleaning… this V15 hoover picked up dog hair that was stuck deep in my thick pile rugs and the fluffy roller cleaned my hard floor better than any hoover I’ve ever owned. I thought the green LED light was a gimmick and didn’t think I’d find it useful at all, as I thought it’s just a dim green light. However, it really did show me how dirty my floors was - even though they looked clean. I honestly thought I would have returned this hoover, but it’s so much better than my animal ball 2 model at sucking up dirt - I’m going to keep it… it’s also nice walking around the house without being restricted to a cable and an electric outlets. Also this hoover can clean my car as good as it cleans my house. The negative I’ve found is the bin size needs to be bigger or longer, because it easily fills quickly and I’m needing to empty it after every use. I originally was going to buy the outsize model with it having a larger bin, but I opted for the V15 with it having stronger suction and a cheeper price tag and also having updated cleaning Technology. So I decided to go for this v15 model. I don’t regret my choice, but it’s very annoying having to empty the bin so often. Another issue I found, the bin don’t stay clean when you empty it. You need to wipe it down with a cloth after you empty the bin to keep it clean… as I don’t like having a dirty hoover on display charging up with dirt init. It makes the house look dirty with it sitting on a wall mounted charging dock. If you have a pantry or a storage cupboard you store your hoover and don’t care if it looks dirty. Then it’s not so much of an issue. But if you are like me and have it mounted in your hallway, it’s a little embarrassing having guest over with a hoover full of dirt on display. So I think a brush inside the bin would have helped loosen trapped dust when emptying. But it’s not a big issue. As it can be wiped clean after use. I also think if your have a medium sided 3/4 bedroom house like me. That you will need to buy a second battery todo a full house clean. As the battery only gives me enough time to deep clean my downstairs. This said, investing in an extra battery would be very beneficial for full house cleans, just be prepared to empty the bin a few times. The last issue is, it’s quite expensive for what you get. It is better than corded hoovers but the collection bin I feel lets down the efficiency in deep cleaning large areas… For this reason. I’ve give this hoover a 4 star rating. Because it’s really good at cleaning. But it does have miner downsides too and needs improvements for larger homes. But not enough to make it a bad buy.

V15 Detect Absolute

I bought this vacuum week before black Friday And I'm posting this review in March, I have had absolutely no issues with the vacuum , and it still pulls just as powerful as it did when I 1st picked it up. I have used this in my work to clean my bus and I have cleaned my whole house with it almost daily. It has an incredible level of clean compared to any other vacuum I've ever used. I like it's ease of emptying, and how simple the maintenance is for most every part and attachment on it. I have had no problems with Dyson or the buying experience, in fact it was rather pleasant. I had a hiccup from the bank whenever I was ordering, but I didn't realize it was the bank and the Dyson support was very helpful with that. These attachments included are also very wonderful for different things I need to do, my favorite has got to be the ultrafine dusting brush which allows me to get into those deep cracks in the pieces that I have on my shelf It's also really good at getting into automobile air conditioning events, and other small areas inside your car with the hose attachment. I love the laser fluffy head, it never ceases to amaze me and others how dirty our floors are after just one day and the laser points out the stuff that we can't even see with our naked eye and ceiling light. I don't think I could ever go back to any other vacuum. With the performance and the quality of this vacuum, ill monitor the reliability but I think I will be sticking around Dyson for life
