The Deebot started off well with easy mapping, however the app wouldnt allow me to apply virtual barriers and this continues. We use the machine mostly for mopping as we have a large area of polished concrete and it does a great job. Unfortunately this machine is far from maintenance free as the roller continually gets clogged with hair from 2 long haired females, 2 cats and a dog. It has to be removed after each clean (twice weekly). Water containers , clean and dirty also require filling and emptying after each clean. The big downside is that it cant cross a carpeted area to mop a hard floor . The application of the mopping pads will prevent this and as such our ensuite floor cannot be mopped which is really disappointing. The big downside is that it cant cross a carpeted area to mop a hard floor . The application of the mopping pads will prevent this and as such our ensuite floor cannot be mopped which is really disappointing. We have also noticed that the battery life between charges has already diminished in just 3 months and charging time is 5-6 hours. This means it will start cleaning at 9 am, clean for about an hour and then have to recharge with cleaning not finished until 2am, which is pretty hopeless and annoying. In the last week I had to remap the house as the machine became completely disoriented and wouldnt move more than half a metre from the base unit. I have also noted that over the three months of use the vacuum mode is less effective in picking up debris. Because when operating in mopping mode the vacuum is still active the workings get clogged with moistened dirt, this needs to be clean out regularly adding to the constant maintenance of this machine which seems to defeat the purpose of having an automatic cleaner. So after having the Deebot for 3 months and discovering its flaws, declining battery life, constant maintenance and inability to cross carpet to clean our ensuite I wouldnt recommend it. Oh and the voice recognition is hopeless requiring 4-5 attempts before it responds!

I bought all new parts last month, because it was claiming everything was “heavily worn”, scrubbed it inside and out, and have gone so far as to sanitize the base, hoping for any resolution for all its problems. Now it just refuses to complete a job, and I find myself yelling at the dumb computer voice throwing errors my way every time I touch the thing.I wish I stuck with the iRobot vacuum systems I was familiar with instead of trying to “upgrade”. The only thing increased was price and frustrations. Love yourself enough to choose something else!

The price point is pretty high but we happened to get it at a steep discount due to it being on sale plus open box. My very few complaints would be that it won’t vacuum and mop at the same time on carpet. You have to remove the mop pads for it to go on the carpet to clean and put them back on after the carpeted areas are done. I’d have loved to have a machine that automatically shuts off the mop pads when on carpet then turns them back on again when done. Also I’d love to be able to use aftermarket cleaner as opposed to the Deebot brand cleaning solution that is also pretty expensive. Maybe if they programmed it to respond to “Ok Deebot” instead of “Ok Yiko” it may pick up our voices better. And lastly the bottom of the station gets very dirty after about a week with dirt from the mop pads. Not a big deal at all but some minor adjustments could make it better. Overall though this robot is super smart and the features it does have are amazing. It does an excellent job of accurately mapping our whole house and keeps all the areas very clean. I have mine programmed to run every light at midnight so it’s not irritating my dogs lol. The camera function is pretty cool to be able to use to spy on them though when we aren’t home and can’t see them on the in house cameras. An added bonus is that the top of the robot is tall enough that it won’t fit under our couch and get itself stuck like our previous one. Overall I’d totally recommend this robot if you can afford it. Pretty sweet device though.

Great mopping robot - A bit on the pricey side

This is a great unit! We have hardwood in our kitchen/family room area and 2 fluffy Golden retrievers. So, a daily vacuuming is mandatory. We previously ran a vacuum only unit that self-empties and it did a great job getting under the table and chairs. That is until I got a little carried away with cleaning it and got it wet. We bought this as the replacement.First impression. It's big. Compared to the vacuum only unit, it is wider and much taller. But that definitely helps because the clean and dirty water bins are accessible from the top and their size allow for a lot of water. You don't have to fill it after ever run. From an operation perspective. You don't have to fill it after ever run. From an operation perspective. It's programable on the app, has great options for the cleaning mode, it has virtual barriers and room dividers that work well. No extra accessories required. The first room scan was really quick, 15 minutes, maybe less. It has great overlapping cleaning paths and if set to 2x cleaning it conducts a crisscross pattern.I had it set to the highest cleaning setting for the first few weeks. The room is the entry way we primarily use so I wanted to see how well it cleaned. It was very thorough from a pattern perspective and went back to clean the pads, empty the dirty water, and refill before returning to the job at hand. I really like the results on the daily mopping. I have been playing with the multiple setting and am happy with the level of clean it provides with the settings I have settled on. I think it took too much time to recharge when I had it set to the highest cleaning level. Obviously, that will vary based on room size. The only negative I have for this unit compared to the vacuum only models; the robot itself is taller than the Shark and Roomba robots so it doesn't get all the way under the dining table and chairs. I believe that is where the live camera is. Yes, you can watch the vacuum clean the floor! Cool option but I don’t see an everyday use for it. Because it can’t get under some of the tables an chair there is an accumulation of dog hair sitting there when it’s done.I do recommend this for hardwood and hard surface floors, but if its pet hair you want picked up, consider the vacuum only robots on the market.

No good for a large house with lots of windows
16 August 2023

It's ok, but for the price, I would expect a lot better. Pros it does vacuum well, the mop function is pretty good too - just shows how dirty our floors are when you see the dirty water, it is saving us a lot of timeCons The mapping is very poor. No matter how many times we tried, it wasn't able to map our entire house (550m2). It has missed two rooms completely, and it has cut in half all the rooms down one side of the house. This could be because it reaches a set limit distance from the base station perhaps. We have floor to ceiling windows and it looks through the window and maps that and thinks that's another area. It will then proceed to try and go through the window to clean outside. It can get stuck doing this for 10 or 20 minutes at a time. It will then proceed to try and go through the window to clean outside. It can get stuck doing this for 10 or 20 minutes at a time. It only operates down to 20% battery before returning to the base station. It then takes 6 to 8 hours to recharge. With such a big house, it never gets the house done in one day.It says things when it's cleaning like, Returning to Base Station, but unless you're right next to it to listen to it, you have no idea what it's doing. It would be good if those messages appeared in the app. There are no spots to put the mops when not in use in the base station so we just leave them on top which looks ugly. The power cord isn't a flat plug so the base station can't sit flush against the wall and sticks out way too far.Unless you set it to Smart emptying, the dirt canister fills up too much and never gets emptied properly. This isn't intuitive and took us a long time to work out to put it on this function in the app. Now it empties regularly and we haven't had ongoing issues with it clogging up. I just think for the price, this thing has way too many issues that need ironing out before I'd be charging $2500 for it. The mapping issue is the biggest negative. It's probably ok for smaller houses though.

We like others were influenced by the possibility to have the automated floor cleaner. The first clean was perfect as was the following three cleans,(we have had the unit since xmas 2022) but after that this unit does what ever it wants. The areas it mapped out are not being cleaned as good as they should be, it tangles itself around phone charging cables which we always lift off the floor but sometimes forget. The software/app is impossible to work with, as is the mapping feature and the feature that allows you to create zones, which doesn’t work. This means that every clean started is a full house clean not a zone clean. The call on demand feature has never worked except for one time when she was called by the TV. The voice activation has never worked and I fail to see the point of it if it doesn’t recognise any voices. It was a wasted purchase which was not cheap, the inside of the unit where the cleaner parks itself get full of water which is disgusting to clean. It’s more work then having a toddler around the house. Don’t buy this particular unit. Don’t believe what the marketing team tell you see the reviews from people who spent their hard earned money and give real reviews.

Problem with ECOVAC DEEBOT X1
29 August 2023

Hello,I'm writing to address an issue I've encountered with my ECOVAC DEEBOT X1, which I purchased less than a year ago. The problem arises during the mopping mode after the mopping cycle is reported as complete via the app notification, I've noticed that a few hours later, there is water accumulated on the floor around the station.Given that I have bamboo flooring, I'm concerned about the potential damage caused by prolonged exposure to water. Unfortunately, we've already observed changes in the timber's color as a consequence of this issue. Initially, we attributed the problem to pausing the cycle prematurely on a couple of occasions. However, there have also been instances where the job has been marked as completed without any interruption, yet the same water accumulation problem persists. To mitigate this, we've taken the precaution of placing a plastic mat under the station to protect our flooring. Regrettably, water still manages to seep beneath the mat, exacerbating the situation. I'm eager to explore potential solutions to rectify this matter. Is it possible that this is related to a faulty component or an issue with the station itselfIf it would be helpful in diagnosing the problem, I can provide photographs. Your guidance and assistance in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Worth the money

Have had my Deebot X1 OMNI for over 6 months now and overall, I would rate it highly, however, minor flaws have caused me to give it a 4 star rating.Quality: Modern design, slightly bulky dock, but this is due to the water tanks for both dirty and clean water, as well as the vaccumm bag and accessories. I wanted a complete hands free robot, so thats what i got. That being said, it isn't an eye sore. The app is easy to use, setup is a breeze and the ability to change mopping and vaccumm functions IE amount of water, vaccumm suction power and whether you want a simple or deep clean is an awesome feature. Accessories are relatively cheap and if you make an account on their website you will accru monetary credits for every clean you do. Accessories are relatively cheap and if you make an account on their website you will accru monetary credits for every clean you do. Thus making the accessories even cheaper. The video manager has flaws, you need to be on your own local WIFI for it to work, and it lags really bad. Mine does anyway. I haven't bothered to try fix it as I don't use the function. The YIKO voice activation is extremely hard to use, that being said they are now rolling out third part voice activation for Google and Alexa etc. The only other thing I would add for quality is that, these things aren't meant to stop. What do I mean by that. If you go on a holiday for anything over 3-5 days, I would suggest at lease getting it to do a minor clean while your away. Because any excess water that has accumulated in the pump will dry and if there is debris it will harden and block the pipes. Which happened to mine. A simple flush fixed the problem however. If you run into any problems with this thing, a simple reset is all it needs. Yes it's a hassle to have to remap your surrounds, but it's better then losing the machine for a month while they investigate a simple fault.

worst smart device ever!

I had a iRobot i7+ for 3 years and was looking for something betterI was excited about the specs of this one but I had to return it because of three major malfunctions:1- the robot refuses to operate because of a so called dirty anti-drop sensors! I cleaned them like 10 times and no luck... I googled it and found a video from one of the company tech support guys and he said "yes this can happen with this device, at some point the water could go in the anti-drop sensors and then rust gets in there so you have to replace them". This was not my case but I found it crazy that the water coming from the device itself could ruin the sensors like this!2- at some point I was able to make the robot works despite the anti-drop sensor malfunction. But at the end the robot ... MoreI had a iRobot i7+ for 3 years and was looking for something betterI was excited about the specs of this one but I had to return it because of three major malfunctions:1- the robot refuses to operate because of a so called dirty anti-drop sensors! But at the end the robot tried to find the home receptacle but no luck, it went in circle in front of the home without detecting it properly... It just couldn't detect it.3- I forced the robot to get in the home receptacle but it couldn't connect with it so the battery was never able to recharge itself... The robot just died...I lost about 4-5 hours with this bad purchase. Maybe I was just very unlucky with this specific item but still, knowing that the anti-drop sensors would eventually stop working because of the own water coming from the device just scares me so I will not try to buy this item again! Bad conception guys!
