This cord is amazing.Skinny, yet durable. The aramid weave in the sheath adds a lot of protection and makes this rope roughly as durable as any 9.8mm, but without the weight.Packs down to roughly the same size as a 50m, 9.8mm cord - and is especially light feeling on route.The handling is super nice, soft, and with a great hand feel. The aramid gives the rope a really nice look and feel.Took it out into Little Cottonwood for some pitches and put it to full use with a wandering pitch of roofs where the rope had to run and rub across the edges. Held up like a champ.At first look, you may do what i did, and go "Woah, this thing is skinny" - but after a few pitches on the rock, I am sold. A true-allrounder that's incredibly lightweight

So before I got this rope, I was told it stands up to being a primary projecting rope. I was skeptical that it would last long as a project rope with it's 8.9mm diameter. I was proven wrong, for sure.It's been my primary rope for the last year, primarily used for projecting/hangdogging. If I had to guess, it's had probably 50 days of serious climbing on it, and it's yet to be chopped. It's got some light fuzzing going on, but nothing near the point of needing a cutting. It's definitely the thinnest rope I've ever used and that took a couple days to get used to, but now I'd never go with anything else.The only thing that keeps it from 5 stars is that a rope this durable can't be the most supple. BOMB PROOF

Recently took this guy on an expedition over seas, it out performed all expectations! I usually wouldn’t feel comfortable on anything under 9mm but this is the exception.Lightweight & reliable I genuinely look forward to using this rope! It’s already seen a few thousand feet of rappels and is showing little to no signs of wear.10/10 rope, great for almost every application!

Future of rope technology

I've used this as my main rope for 10s of thousands of feet of whipping and jugging. Over the course of this time it has received some fuzzy spots, BUT the core is perfectly intact. It's taken half a year of abuse and still looks new after a wash. Best rope ever. I find myself bringing it over other peoples ropes every time for the piece of mind when jugging and whipping on less than smooth rock. Can't reccomend it enough,

NOT durable. I climb outside like every week.

I’ve had about 10 different climbing ropes in the 4 years I’ve been climbing, and I still have 5 of them for different uses. I climb multi pitch, sport, and take friends top roping. I climb in the gym as well. I just climb, a lot. The most durable rope I’ve owned so far (which I still use here and there) has been the Edelrid Eagle Lite 9.5.I used this 8.9 on three different outings. I looked down one day and notice it had shredded bad on one end and I could see the threads (in the core). First time I’ve ever seen this happen to one of my ropes. I cut that end down (luckily only lost 7 feet of rope.) If you looking for durability, thin ropes like this, no matter what they thread it with, will be less durable. New daily driver

This 8.9 has become my daily driver and I'll never look back. The aramid fibers add just the right amount of structure to a skinny rope for a perfect balance of supple handling and control. The added cut resistance from the aramid fibers also gives me a huge peace of mind. My only wish is that it came in a bi-pattern option.

Not worth the $$$

This thing came recommended by a friend and I tried his and it was pretty nice. For some reason the one I got is less flexible than a 2x4. Super cable-y and it pig tails really badly no matter how many times I pulled it through and flaked it. Stiff catch, difficult to give a good belay. Not a good rope for sport climbing because of how stiff the catches tend to be and how difficult it is with the pig tails. Love the thinness, weight and the durable feel but it really wasn’t worth the $$$ seeing as I nor anyone I climb with wants to use it! Maybe I just got a lemon or something but my buddy had a similar issue so 🤷🏻‍♂️
