Edelrid Swift Protect Pro Dry 8,9mm 70M - Night-Green
Edelrid's Swift Protect Pro Dry Rope represents a new generation in versatile climbing ropes. It doesn't matter if you'r climbing ice, sport, trad, multi-pitch, big wall, or mountaineering the highest peaks around. The Swift excels at all categories of climbing, and Edelrid made it even more durable with aramid fibers in the sheath for increased cut resistance. Its 8. 9mm diameter makes this rope one of the skinniest certified single ropes on the market, and you can still use it as a half rope for icy ascents, or pair it up with another rope for ultra-long multipitches. Edelrid equipped this versatile climbing rope with a Pro Shield for optimal performance, a Dry Shield to resist water and dirt, and a Thermo Shield treatment for enhanced handling. Despite its skinny diameter and light weight, the Swift still boasts a superb fall rating when you use it as a single rope for onsight attempts, and its fall rating for when you use it has a half or twin rope is simply exquisite. Get the 80 meter for long multipitch routes, the 70 for sport, or rock the standard 60 if you want the ideal all-arounder.

This cord is amazing.Skinny, yet durable. The aramid weave in the sheath adds a lot of protection and makes this rope roughly as durable as any 9.8mm, but without the weight.Packs down to roughly the same size as a 50m, 9.8mm cord - and is especially light feeling on route. The handling is super nice, soft, and with a great hand feel. The aramid gives the rope a really nice look and feel.Took it out into Little Cottonwood for some pitches and put it to full use with a wandering pitch of roofs where the rope had to run and rub across the edges. Held up like a champ. At first look, you may do what i did, and go "Woah, this thing is skinny" - but after a few pitches on the rock, I am sold. So before I got this rope, I was told it stands up to being a primary projecting rope. I was skeptical that it would last long as a project rope with it's 8.9mm diameter. I was proven wrong, for sure. It's been my primary rope for the last year, primarily used for projecting/hangdogging. If I had to guess, it's had probably 50 days of serious climbing on it, and it's yet to be chopped. It's got some light fuzzing going on, but nothing near the point of needing a cutting. It's definitely the thinnest rope I've ever used and that took a couple days to get used to, but now I'd never go with anything else. The only thing that keeps it from 5 stars is that a rope this durable can't be the most supple. Other ropes may be super smooth and have a great "handfeel", but ... MoreSo before I got this rope, I was told it stands up to being a primary projecting rope. Other ropes may be super smooth and have a great "handfeel", but they also wear out quicker. This one is definitely a little more of a cable. With that said, it still gives a soft catch. It's just a bit stiffer in the hand. I'll take that for a rope this light that seems like it will last a few seasons before it even needs chopping. 10/10 would buy again.

Recently took this guy on an expedition over seas, it out performed all expectations! I usually wouldn’t feel comfortable on anything under 9mm but this is the exception.Lightweight & reliable I genuinely look forward to using this rope! It’s already seen a few thousand feet of rappels and is showing little to no signs of wear.10/10 rope, great for almost every application!

This 8.9 has become my daily driver and I'll never look back. The aramid fibers add just the right amount of structure to a skinny rope for a perfect balance of supple handling and control. The added cut resistance from the aramid fibers also gives me a huge peace of mind. My only wish is that it came in a bi-pattern option.
This rope is the absolute best rope I've ever owned, period. If you're looking for a rope to do it all, this is it!From speed climbing on bigwalls in Yosemite to Kyrgyzstan's remote alpine bigwalls, this rope has performed the best of all the ropes I've owned/used.It truly feels bomber, feeds (and catches!) in a grigri like a charm, handles great and it's relatively tangle free with a little care. I'm mostly amazed at its durability while free climbing, taking gnarly whips on it or jugging it as a fixed line on bigwalls, I just can't wear it out.8.9 is the smallest diameter I would go for an all around, and I honestly felt a bit spooked to use such a skinny rope for every type of climbing, but Edelrid found the perfect recipe and it just works! It also makes ... MoreThis rope is the absolute best rope I've ever owned, period.
