I'm using the mr-4 from the outputs of my audio engine d-1 . With an android phone and Amazon Unlimited music service. Also the EQ in the music service app. Sound is terrific. Others have said there isn't much bass. There is plenty enough bass using the Amazon EQ for my tastes. Build quality is very good. There is a loud hiss or static noise when nothing is playing. I tried plugging another device into this speaker and get the same hiss.Setup: connecting via 3.5mm jack to macbook pro.

Looking for a setup for our turntable, doing research and YouTube sound comparisons. It was hard to decide between edifier r1700bt, r1380db, and audio engine A2+. Online consensus was sound wise this one was better than the above Edifier models mentioned. Audioengine was too expensive and small. If you can live without Bluetooth this one is a winner. Sleek and good size
I wanted some nice speakers to listen to music and watch Youtube at my desk, so after looking at a few reviews I settled on these MR4s.The detail really comes through when using these speakers. I can pick out individual instruments easily, drums thump and vocals are so clear and precise. They don't have much low end bass but that little bit they do have is really nice. Switching between monitor mode and music mode doesn't make much difference. Monitor mode sounds a bit flatter than music mode, but there's not much between them. These honestly sound more expensive than the £95 OcUK are asking.They feel solid. Nice weight to them. Again, they feel like much more expensive speakers. Really good quality build. The volume knob has detents and the jumps in volume are a bit harsh. Detents 1-2 quiet 2-3 nice 3-4 LOUD 4-5 REALLY LOUD but I mostly stick them on 3 and use windows to control volume. The other very small gripe is the power cable is fixed.Overall they sound fantastic and I'm very happy with them. I still can't believe they're less than 100 notes.
