This worked perfectly in our Ego 20" cordless electric lawn mower. They say for lawn tractors, which I was a little worried about, but was just what we needed. It was a great deal - glad I was able to find a replacement for a nicked up blade!

I've had my mower since 2015 and for the most part it does a pretty good job. The handle locking clamps need help in staying in place so I use bungee chords for that purpose.My biggest criticism is the mower blade. It leaves uncut blades of grass right in the middle of the path I just cut. Can't you create a blade with sufficient lift????

This worked perfectly in our Ego 20" cordless electric lawn mower. They say for lawn tractors, which I was a little worried about, but was just what we needed. It was a great deal - glad I was able to find a replacement for a nicked up blade!

I’ve had my Ego 20” mower for 3 years. It replaced an aging Newton. I’ve had nothing but praise for this mower. The proof is I’ve also purchased a chainsaw, backpack blower and lawn trimmer all by Ego. Needless to say I believe they make a great product. What I can’t understand is the inferior blades they put on the mowers. In those same 3 years I’ve purchased 3 new blades! I have to sharpen the blade after only two or three times mowing 1200 sq. Ft. Lawn. The battery will mow twice without charging yet the blad is beginning shred gras by then.Soooo EGO... what’s the deal? You’ve had enough complaints on this to recognize its a major problem with your customers. yet the response appears to be buy a new mower. I love my mower but not the blade - never did. Right from the start it wouldn't cut all blades of grass. Now it's even worse. I tried getting the 20" replacement from Home Depot but they don't appear to carry it anymore. Purchased on ebay brand new and from tip to tip, it measured 19". I remeasured the one I removed and from tip to tip it was 20", so not sure if I purchased a knock off or not. EGO makes a great 21" blade, heavy duty - why not offer that on the 20" mower? I spent so much money on the mower and the two batteries. Just need a blade that works
This is the Ego-recommended original mower blade. It is the standard blade used for basic mulching, side discharge, or bagging. I only ever mulch and my lawn is thick, so while this is not specificially a mulching blade, it does fine. I buy a new blade each year though I typically sharpen the blade twice during the mowing season. I sharpen it myself using my Dremel tool with appropriate bit. I bought a special mower blade sharpening attachment for the Dremel that allows the blade to be sharpened at the correct angle. It works fine but still replace the blade yearly. Overall, this blade is a good overall choice and I recommend it.
I love the 20" mower that I purchased last year, but I've noticed that without a very sharp blade my lawn and mower power suffers. It seems that unlike a typical mower, this mower blade must be sharpened regularly. My file no longer sharpens the blade like I would hope it would. A stronger metal appears to be needed in order for the mower blade to work as it should after the first year. EGO, you've seen many others complain about his on your other blade. Please look into it.
Didn't realize how bad my original blade was until I put a fresh one on it. Works like brand new. And the battery life has been extended due to not getting bogged down in high grass anymore. Highly recommend.
Hi Ego staff,I bought the lawn mower 20" and I would be 100% satisfied if the blade would lift grass properly. You offer a high lift blade on the 21" mower so why not offering the same on the 20" mower.With the regular blade (the one provided with the mower), it is barely capable of lifting leaves and pine needles. As for grass, it is just ok as long as the grass not to thick and long. Otherwise, it stays there.Thank you for your feedback.
I also love my 20 inch mower. Some grasses are tougher than others. I have never sharpened my blade and the 2nd year of mowing is about done. The cut is typical of a mulching blade. I have never liked any mulching blade on any mower, ever. I prefer a high lift blade. I would like EGO to make a high lift blade for this 20 inch mower. With the current blade, I sometimes go over the same swath twice, from 2 different directions to make the cut look better.If EGO doesn't make a high lift 20 inch blade, I will buy their 21 inch high lift blade and alter it in the metal shop so it fits my mower. What do you say, EGO?
