Ego CTA9500 210mm - 240mm Power+ Multi-Tool Cultivator Attachment

Good product, though somewhat expensive. Overall happy that I bought it despite the price (Green Reaper supplied flawlessly next day as usual at lowest price i saw on market).Makes short work of regular tilling for those of us who want to save a bit of time or have largish areas to cover, but not big enough to justify hiring a rotovator (which would also dig deeper on one pass) , I have also used mine to break up a large area of very hard stony soil which had been compacted by trucks during a construction project - the cement like surface of the hardest sections needed to be broken with a digging bar first but I was surprised by how effective and robust the cultivator tool proved for such a difficult task.

An awsome attachment!

I was a little apprehensive as to whether or not this cultivator would cope with the tough ground I needed to loosen, but this chap is well capable. Also, there is little clogging and tangling unlike some tillers I have used.

This piece of kit is no rotavator so don’t expect it to do the job of one of the petrol tillers.That said it’s a great cultivator. Preparing soil for grass seeding was great. Also used it in borders and it it almost whipped the soil like cream. Job done in a faction of the time. Fab. 👍

Digs through hard ground no problem.

Bought this a month ago. Good at breaking through hard and compacted soil (even ground that is very hard). Jumps around a bit while it is trying to get through very hard ground but once it gets its hooks in it has no problem churning up the soil. Struggles with ground that has lots of roots through it (will bounce of these rather than cut through them even on the high power setting) so most of these will need to be manually removed.

Ego battery power failure

This item cannot be reviewed because of the failure of 2 Ego batteries, 5 & 2.5 amp, that were to power it. Both still under warranty. Ego customer support response has been less than what one could reasonably expect.

Good bit of kit - but rather awkward to use

A great idea and this is a well-made cultivator. It fits easily into the universal driver. In use I found it is quite powerful and turned over and cultivated our soil to a depth of about 10-15cm - depending on whether the soil was already loose or not. If held in one place it would dig itself in further.However it is awkward and tiring to hold for more than a short time due to the length of the combination tool when assembled as I had to hold the power trigger down with one hand and reach forward to support the shaft beyond the linkage with the other hand whilst the tool bucked and pulledI have only used this for one day on the allotment so may be able to update later when I have used it for longer

Multi-tool Cultivator

Very effective at breaking up quite finely a reasonable top layer of hardish lumpy soil, but it tends to drag it towards the user - brilliant when earthing up potatoes, but otherwise needs a bit of tidying up after ! It does not go deep, but I never expected it to. It feels fairly heavy in use, but perhaps that is just old age talking! Contra-rotating blades would, I think, be a great thing for leaving the churned up soil in place rather than moving it along. A very considerable time and energy saver as against a garden fork for breaking up rather impacted beds, and. reasonably manoeuvrable between plants : I have not yet tried working with the outer tines removed.

Rotary Tiller and testing goes really well

really good tool very powerful and good battery life tills soil well to good for weeding too would recommend highly seems to do the job of a rotary hoe a lot lighter to move about good for rows tool is easy to set up and works on hard ground too.

Shockingly good! Ripped through overgrown veg beds at my new allotment. Don’t doubt the power of this! You need it!!!
