I bought this speaker last week when I was in the market to buy a nice, compact bookshelf speaker. I had my eye on the Energy CB-20 and Bose Acoustimass 10 Series V, but this speaker really blew me away with its ability to deliver the sound. I am so happy with this purchase and have placed an order for the Elac Debut 2.0 C6.2 center and Elac Debut 2.0 B6.2 surround speakers!

This is my second purchase from Hifimart; the first was the Wharfedale D320, which is a good speaker with a warm sound and reasonable amount of detail. I purchased this because of the price drop to Rs.26175/=; I think that this is a great price for these speakers. I got the item in 4 working days; the packing was in the original boxes, and it reached me without any damage.Coming on to the speakers themselves; these have a really open and detailed sound, without being harsh or bright. I have paired them with the Cambridge AM10 which has a slightly warm sound. The combination gives a great sound that is balanced and detailed. These speakers like power and keep their poise even when the volume is cranked up. Since these are front ported, they are quite flexible about placement / toe-in etc. They just sound good! The only 'con' is that they do not cover up bad recordings; you will hear all the 'badness' in the recording; the Wharfedales are a lot more forgiving in this aspect. On the whole, these are great speakers, especially considering the current price.

ELAC Debut B5.2 PROS These speakers are precise at picking out individual instruments and separating them from each other rather than producing an harmonious rounded conglomerate of sound. They handle a very wide range of frequencies with ease and have a good top end as well as a tight bass response. They are very compact, feel well built and exceptionally good value for the money. CONS If anything these speakers can sound a little too clinical (which is not particularly a bad thing if you like your sound that way like me). GENERAL I cannot say anything about the longevity of them as I have not owned them for long but if you are on a budget and want a good pair of speakers I can highly recommend them, especially with the 6 year guarantee included by Richersounds.

These ELAC speakers were recommended to me by an audiophile friend and his recommendation is well warranted. Full sound which handles most any type of music, rock, jazz fusion, new age, et al admirably. They are sound and able to handle the highest treble and lowest bass while being bookshelf size. I had older, yet very capable, speakers prior to acquiring these, but those Mirage Bipolar speakers were huge, taking up way more space than is necessary. Obviously, the balance of your system needs to step up as well, but I am happy to say I would recommend these to anyone, audiophile or just weekend music freak.
Elac Debut B5.2 speakers ordered via Richer Sounds Oxford.Having allowed them to 'run in' for 48 hours or so, I was very pleasantly surprised by how good these budget speakers sounded - a really well rounded sound with excellent detail and strong bass performance without 'booming' or drowning out the treble and mid-range. Forward facing bass port works well and good for mounting closer to a wall if required. I bought these as a second set of speakers for listening to my hifi in another room, but they're very nearly as good to listen to as the main set of speakers costing several times as much. I would certainly recommend these speakers - excellent build quality and value for money given the superb sound.
Excellent speakers with nice tight bass and smooth treble. Front ported so not difficult to place close to a wall or in a corner. Nicely constructed and deals with all different types of music with ease.
Bought to replace wharfedale 9.1s, also front ported. Tested against equivalent price rear ported speakers with speakers placed 6" from wall as I would have to place them at home. The Elacs were far better with more controlled bass and clearer separation of the sounds.
If there is a better value in 5” driver bookshelf speakers out there, I’m unaware. The move to bring the port to the front made an already fabulous sounding speaker with smart design (Debut 1.0) even more versatile. Tight, solid low end down to 50-ish Hz. Smooth natural top end. Plenty of SPL for most living rooms and situations. Pair these with a well-tuned sub, and you’ve got a killer full range playback system. They need 20-30 hours of break in time. A great value at full MSRP. I took advantage of the absolute steal B&H pricing at $179. These are my second pair, purchased for my daughter’s small Brooklyn apartment. Could not be more pleased.
These are great speakers for the price. Buy them and you won't regret it! Many reviewers say the bass is lacking, but that's not a complaint I can get behind. These speakers sound great in my living room, without a subwoofer, and the bass is plenty enough for me at moderate volume. But I'm a retired guy whose ears' best days are long gone, so what do I know? (SMILE!) I suppose if you're a DJ who wants dance-floor bass, these speakers are not for you. But if your goal is listening pleasure (as opposed to "loosening the plaster"), then these speakers are superb!
Im putting together a budget stereo system, speakers seemed to be the most important part in that scenario. I did a lot of research, TBH, I havent put a system together in a couple of decades. I came across a YouTube vid about the ELAC B5.2. I read another review online that gave them a very good review. Really good. They were more than I wanted to spend but every review was very positive. They do need to be broken in. What amazes me about them is not the powerful bass for a 5.25 speaker but the clean imaging, the clarity of the stage. Crystal clear and clean highs, non-exaggerated midrange and a strong bottom. Im running them through a 100 w/ch amp, there is plenty of bass. What I am impressed with is how they can expose a badly mastered CD and really shine on a ... MoreIm putting together a budget stereo system, speakers seemed to be the most important part in that scenario. If 250.00 is your limit then you cannot do much better than this speaker system. I had never heard of B&H Video but took a chance, after I ordered I called them and changed the delivery location to a FedEx delivery location. (Porch pirates). Im impressed at the customer service, I would not hesitate to order from them again.
