The power brick is a bit large and will block additional outlets on many power outlets and strips. The power cord is considerably short which limits placement of the lights unless you have an extension cord. When it works, it's fine. But it depends on WiFi -- there's no direct wired connection -- and the WiFi connection isn't dependable. Sometimes the light just loses its connection and becomes a useless brick. In the past, I've been able to get it working again with things like quitting the app and rebooting my machine. But this time, nothing works, and the 'help' suggestions border on nonsense. I submitted a detailed support request to El Gato and ... crickets. It's been a couple of days and I haven't heard anything. Meanwhile, I've got no light.

I have not been able to get the control panel to connect to the device so I cannot adjust the light settings which was the whole point in purchasing this light. It will turn on, but it's too bright. I have tired installing the control panel app on my android phone and tablet, also my macbook and my pc and for some reason the application will not find the device to connect to wifi. I have tried to set this up for an hour, but if a light is this trying to activate, its a wash. I regret buy thing because its junk at this point.
The light seems fine. It's way too bright for me even at the low end of the brightness scale. However the software is embarrassingly bad. The android app has 1.9 stars and is unusable to set up the light as it will find some wifi networks but not others and you have no way to refresh the list or manually specify a SSID. The mac app does nothing when you open it and i had to go to reddit to find that it just opens an icon in the system tray that you use to set it up. Even through that it took a few tries to get it configured. It also becomes unresponsive to the commands in the mac app and will suddenly just get shockingly bright before responding.
I bought this primarily because I attend a lot of virtual meetings. My space doesn't have great lighting and I always appeared a little dark. One of these lights easily solved that. I love the ability to change the light temperature and brightness as quickly and easily as the app allows. My wife also attends classes late in the evening and this light has really improved the experience. While one of these is enough for most of my uses I can see the benefit of having two to get the lighting just the way I want it on both sides of my face or the objects I might be putting on display. I wish the cords were a little longer; not anything an extension cord can't handle, but it would have been nice if they were a foot or two longer. I also had a little trouble with the ... Very good product that can does not take much space and besides the size it can get very bright. It reacts smoothly when used in conjunction with a Stream Deck. The practicality of this product wil vary according to what a user will use it for. In my case, I use it for better lighting on zoom meetings and it works perfectly, but for streaming or content creation I would not hurt to have two of these. Regardless, the product does a great job and have not been displeased with it so far.
I bought the Elgato light for my home studio as I am now working from my now home office. This light is great! adjustable height and head tilt, large lighting face but with super top drawer diffusers so that it spreads the light around the whole delivery area. NO reflections in my glasses, no focused on my face but everything around me in shadow. The brightness and the colour of the light are infinitely adjustable in the phone app which is conveniently in my hand rather than having to play with the actual light. The Key Light Air is bright enough for a small office and 1 person. I do not need the ordinary Key Light which is twice the bright - that would wash out everything. I want to give this 5 stars so bad as I love Elgato products, but unfortunately I just cant. At first, they worked great, definitely a 5 star product. But then my wife and I moved, and built a new network with the same router. Everything else that we hooked into the new network works fine and connected right away with no issues. It's been almost a year, and I am still unable to connect these to the new network. I have done everything, to factory resetting, watched youtube videos, got help from elgato.com, and nothing I do helps. These things just will not connect to any of my networks. I am using the exact same router I used before when I had no issues. These things just do not connect, and if they do not connect to your wifi network, they are absolutely worthless ...
