Happy to say I just threw my ember travel mug away after having it take up space in the cupboard for a couple of years. Received it as a gift a few years ago from my wife. Very extravagant gift. Very thoughtful on her part.Hereās what I can say about the Ember travel mug and Ember. For starters, it doesnāt hold much liquid. It also doesnāt last. I used this mug about a dozen times before the plunger style lid broke. Completely useless without the cheap plastic lid. Spoke with ember (which was no easy feat) and received a replacement lid. That lid lasted about a month before the plunger part of the lid stopped working. So the only way to sip your hot coffee is to unscrew the lid, sip, then put the lid back on. Sent pics and an email to ember again. Twice. ...Ā MoreHappy to say I just threw my ember travel mug away after having it take up space in the cupboard for a couple of years. I was so excited for this mug. My husband bought it for me as a present, as Iāve been wanting it for a while. I desperately want it to work but it doesnāt. As the other reviews have said- the battery shuts off after hour and the coffee is cold. Iāve used it for just a week and only on the first day after the first charge did it keep my coffee to set temp for more than 2 hours. After 2 days the lid broke too. Also the maximum temperature is 62.5 degrees which isnāt really that hot.Iām so disappointed because I hate cold coffee and never have enough time to enjoy it while itās hot.

I've used the mug for less than a month. It never heats up to the right temperature, even when the app says it's my "perfect temp" at 141, it's actually luke-warm. The app is an absolute dumpster fire. You have to constantly re-pair it with bluetooth and even when you do it doesn't work half the time.Do not buy this overpriced garbage. A freaking hotplate is more consistent for 1/100th the cost.

I really wanted to love this product but having used it for 6 months, I'm quite disappointed. Battery is slow to charge and (relatively) quick to discharge. This would be OK if it had reasonable insulation but it seems that without the battery, it rapidly loses heat. We have standard Thermos containers that perform much better, even without a battery. When the lid is opened, it sprays your drink out - not great when driving to work. The lid is difficult to clean. The internal surface also retains milk / coffee residue that is difficult to clean. I was OK with paying $300 for a coffee mug because I thought Apple would only stock items that were brilliantly designed but this product has not met my expectations. If I'd paid $80, I would have accepted these flaws but ...Ā MoreI really wanted to love this product but having used it for 6 months, I'm quite disappointed. The Ember Travel Mug 2+ is a 12-ounce smart mug designed to keep your coffee or tea at the desired temperature. It has received mixed reviews for its performance and features:1. **Battery Life**: The mug's battery life varies, with some sources reporting up to two or three hours of heat retention [ā](https://www.cnet.com/reviews/ember-travel-mug-review/#:~:text=The%20Ember%20travel%20mug%20is,The%20mug%20is%20expensive) [ā](https://www.thespruceeats.com/ember-travel-mug-2-review-5083870#:~:text=3,taste%20Only%20one%20color%20option). This discrepancy could be due to different usage patterns or expectations.2. **Design and Build**: The Ember Travel Mug 2+ is praised for its high-quality materials and leakproof lid. It also offers two size and color options [ā](https://www.thespruceeats.com/ember-travel-mug-2-review-5083870#:~:text=3,taste%20Only%20one%20color%20option) [ā](https://www.imore.com/ember-temperature-control-smart-mug-2-review).3. **Temperature Control**: The mug effectively maintains temperatures between 120°-145° Fahrenheit, which can be controlled via a connected app. This app is considered user-friendly and offers preset temperatures for various beverages [ā](https://www.macrumors.com/review/ember-travel-mug-2/#:~:text=The%20app%20is%20decent%2C%20and,arbitrary%2C%20but%20all%20of%20the) [ā](https://www.imore.com/ember-temperature-control-smart-mug-2-review).4. **Price**: A common criticism of the Ember Travel Mug 2+ is its high cost, with many reviewers considering it overpriced for its features and capacity [ā](https://www.cnet.com/reviews/ember-travel-mug-review/#:~:text=The%20Ember%20travel%20mug%20is,The%20mug%20is%20expensive) [ā](https://www.thespruceeats.com/ember-travel-mug-2-review-5083870#:~:text=3,taste%20Only%20one%20color%20option) [ā](https://www.amazon.com/Ember-Temperature-Control-App-Controlled-Improved/product-reviews/B07NQSJRBZ#:~:text=%E2%80%BA%20Customer%20reviews%20Customer%20reviews,I%20really%20like%20the%20cup).5. **Additional Features**: The charging coaster provided with the mug helps keep the drink hot all day. However, there are limitations, such as the bottom of the mug must not be wet when placed on the charging coaster [ā](https://www.imore.com/ember-temperature-control-smart-mug-2-review).In summary, while the Ember Travel Mug 2+ is innovative and efficient in maintaining beverage temperature, its relatively short battery life, high price, and certain design constraints might not make it an ideal choice for everyone.
Red color looks cool. I had the black one which is still functional except the charger that keeps going bad. Ember has replaced that once, and I feel inhibition to keep asking them for replacement, now that my warranty is also over. I don't like the lid that came with this mug though. Prefer the open lid than closed one. It spilled on my shirt when I tried to sip.
This is great gift and my mother loves it for her gardening and have her coffee hot without the bugs! Lol. Easy of use and set up and color is great, RED is her favorite. Tough and keeps liquid at temp of preference to user and also to the product type. Stay hot for the hours you set it for. Simply the best travel heated mug. Worth the price and last for years. We already have an Ember mug and that jas been doing great dor 2 years now.
Overall a good Ember mug.Two gripes.First - I'm not a fan on the lid design. It can be very slippery & pushing in the middle to "Open" it is not very hygienic.Second - Is there a particular reason that this mug cannot share the power coaster with Ember other bugs?Overall a good product. As with their regular mugs this works great!
Iāve had mine for a while and honestly itās not a travel mug. You canāt charge it in the go, it lasts barely 1 hour in cold weather and is actually a small mug. My Nespresso mug keeps my coffee warmer longer and itās not plugged in. If the company actually made it so you can charge it in the car as Iāve asked 2 yrs ago it would be an awesome product. All they told me was that they are working on it. One review said good customer service, well if lying to a customer about getting a car charger is good customer service then they really arenāt a good company. Iām thankful I never bought the product but got it as a gift.
My wife has a hybrid work schedule: 40% at home 60% in office. I got her both a 14oz mug and the travel mug. The travel mug works flawlessly in the 2-3 months we've had it. And the travel mug has touch-senesitive contols on its body so you don't have to download the app to use and adjust it. The 14oz mug, meanwhile, can only be controlled through the app (other than its power button on the bottom) and is great when it works, but for some reason has to be re-paired upon each use with the app and can at times take up to 2-3 minutes of troubleshooting before it reconnects to the phone app, (e.g. putting it into pairing mode one or a few times before it connects, or sometimes even requiring a factory reset before it pairs with the app.) Both the travel and regular mug ...Ā MoreMy wife has a hybrid work schedule: 40% at home 60% in office. For reference, both my wife and i have recent Samsung Galaxy S-series Android phones, so you may or may not have have the same experiences with these products and your phones connecting as we did if you use different devices with the Ember app.
