Oh my god this product has saved me several times and not only me but also my family and friends. I bought the basic formula. My naturopath recommended to take enzyme for bowel function- to alternate off of probiotics. I had another brand which I had bought locally here in Israel nad it was more effective than this one. Local brand was kind of expensive but I bought it because I needed relief. I though maybe this one which is a lot cheaper would be a better buy. The bottle on my local brand says one can take more than one at a time- up to 3. This one says one per day or for greater enzyme efficiency, buy their higher potency formula. The higher potency is a lot more expensive than this one. If I take up to 3 of these at a time, the money I spent, I could have bought the higher potency. So I wil probably stick with my local brand.
I used to take these awhile back when I would have severe trapped gas and it seemed to help alleviate that pressure. Fast forward to today, my diet is a lot more balanced. However .. my bowel movements are not always solid. Ever since I started taking these digestive enzymes right before a meal or at the end of a meal, the next morning I would have an ideal bowel movement that was solid! I am also taking probiotics (not at the same meal with the enzymes) and that has also helped as well. But I am now a firm believer that as we get older .. we do not efficiently break down food/ absorb nutrients as well as we used to. These digestive enzymes are TINY and taking TWO is perfect for me.
