After many years of continually running out of ink, often at very inopportune times, we opted to upgrade to Epson Eco Tank. I was really pleased with how easy it was to set up - and no mess at all! The ink filling is so easy compared to replacing cartridges - and so much cheaper too. The function and operation of the printer is intuitive. The app allows the family to print from any device. It's much quieter than other printers we've owned and so much lighter. Overall we are delighted with the printer. PB Tech were great to work with. There was a little mix up where I bought the wrong model (not auto duplex, which I required). There were no problems in returning it, even though I had set it up with the ink. I was in the market for a small laser printer for my home and home office. The salesperson at the Good Guys suggested I consider this. It threw me. I listened. I learnt. Went home. Researched. Researched some more. Decided it sounded like the right way to go. Im a few weeks in, a handful of print jobs and apart from the very first one where there was excess ink on the edge of the paper (must have been a first time glitch) it has printer perfectly each time and is proving to be the right choice so far. I was worried about it being slow but its fine. No complaints. Thankfully! I was worried Id get it home and be really disappointed. Im happy with my choice.

I saw posts saying the setup was terrible, but I managed through it ok. The setup was not too bad but like it or not, is required. The installation instruction was like a chat discussion which is easy to follow. It was completed in 1/2 hour. The problem was that our phone / screen would've locked automatically and sort of broke the setup procedure,After setup, I think the printer works like a charm. The printing quality was great even with plain paper that I could use it for some presentation. Another great thing is that it prints borderlessly, although the option was no longer same when my mac was updated: it's like a sub-menu hidden inside paper selection and took me sometime to figure out. Epson should update its instruction at least online to reflect it. ... MoreI saw posts saying the setup was terrible, but I managed through it ok. Another great option was the duplex function that saves us some water / manual adjustment to print double-sided.I saw some ppl complaining about the paper loading - yes it couldn't handle a lot of paper but since this is a home use printer, i think it's perfectly normal. And everytime when I adjust the paper size, it would popup in the small screen asking us to confirm the paper size. I think it's a very great option to ensure we got the right paper when printing.Overall I really enjoy the benefits of this printer at such price that can print so many sheets w/o expensive inks.

I have had this product for two weeks so far and it has done the jobs successfully and to a good quality. The reason I decided to invest in a printer was to aid my uni studies. I had previously done paperless but found it wasn't helping so I decided I would try studying with paper instead. Anywho, after the immense amount I researched on other brands and products, I landed on this model. The price did exceed my budget but product reviews of other products and same brand that was cheaper and would have done what I required, however had bad or mixed reviews. This printer I have only used to print uni documents in colour and black n white. The quality is good and am happy that it is doing its job. I was on a lookout for a unit to replace an older model as I restart university this year. The volume of study articles and notes that needs printing (as a preference for reading from paper than the screen) was a main influence to this next purchase. Although the previous printer (also an Epson) served for slightly over a decade, the hefty cost of refill ink cartridges was most discouraging in its maintenance. Being no techie, I was not aware of technological updates on inkjet printers and actually thought laser printers were the next step-up. It was fortunate to have come up on an article which reported that Epson was phasing out laser printers in a few years due to sustainability concerns, and also a friend suggesting a similar model of EcoTank printer. It was fortunate to have come up on an article which reported that Epson was phasing out laser printers in a few years due to sustainability concerns, and also a friend suggesting a similar model of EcoTank printer. The online reviews were convincing, and after deliberating the pricey upfront cost but cheaper running costs, I think it's a good decision. The set-up was easier than expected, even doing it manually and without use of the app. The first few printed pages were pristine, and I'm looking forward to quality consistency until I finish this degree - and beyond!
My previous printer died after 5 years. I wanted to try a new Epson eco-tank printer, because the ink is less expensive, and it's supposed to last a very long time. So far, I am really happy with my Epson ET-2850 printer-scanner. The ink was easy to add, just turn the bottles upside down over the ink ports, and glug glug glug it goes, and it stops automatically when the ink reservoir is full. The bottles of ink did not fully empty, and after I had gone through set up (initial set-up uses a lot of ink), and had also printed a number of papers (maybe 30-50 pages of print), then I was able to add the rest of the ink. Set up was not easy, the little screen is extremely small and difficult to follow, but I finally got it set up with help from an online site. It comes ... MoreMy previous printer died after 5 years. Set up was not easy, the little screen is extremely small and difficult to follow, but I finally got it set up with help from an online site. It comes with a set-up CD (I haven't used CD's in about 10 years, I download things). This printer does not store paper, so you have to put paper in every time you want to print, and store your paper in a drawer or something. The color comes out gorgeous. The first time I wanted to print a photo (which I don't do a lot of), I finally had to put it on regular and not high quality, and on presentation paper matte, instead of photo paper, and it finally printed well. I do a lot of scanning, and the scanning software that comes with this is very easy to use and works very well, I love it, which I could not say for my previous printer's software. I wish the display screen on the printer were 3"x3" - it's about a 1" square. I wish set up were easier. But I have been printing a lot, as usual, and the ink levels have barely gone down. They say you really have to keep an eye on the ink levels, because if you try to print with ink too low it will damage the printer. I definitely recommend this printer, and I would get this kind again in the future.
This printer has replaced a previous Epson WorkForce Pro ink cartridge printer as I was over replacing ink cartridges every 3 months. The ink bottles will be a lot more cost effective compared to cartridges as the printer comes with 2 years supply of ink (which is a saving of approx $500 a year) and a 2 year warranty which makes the initial purchase price of the printer good value. The only negatives I have found compared to my previous Epson printer is the paper tray storage is exposed at the top of printer and holds less paper. (the WF Pro stored the paper tray under the printer, fully enclosed in a slide out draw and held more paper). Also the print per page is a little slower. But I am happy to compromise on these features to save me money and time (to purchase ... I was talked into buying this printer due to its extremely high print capacity VS a cheaper typical inkjet printer and cost of replacing toner cartridges. I was looking for reliable inkjet printer / scanner. Simply put I am not happy with it and in hindsight feel my original choice was a better. Yes it offers 6000 pages, which would take me about 3 years to do, and cost efficient refill options (way cheaper than a cartridge) but the printer itself, is rubbish. I feel like it's a low end printer with a high end price tag, justification on the ink savings, you probably pay for all the ink over the quality of the printer. In 3 year time I wonder if the inks will even be available. It does not have any additional USB or Memory Card readers, so don't expect to scan to ... The setup process is painful. I have now set it up on both MAC and DELL laptop, both operating systems auto detect it but install a very basic driver, you need to download the advanced drivers once done. The Printer does not hold its wireless setting or link to the network, when printing a typical "offline Error" happens, you have to reset the printer to get back up and connected for wireless printing. This is not operating system specific same issue on both MAC and MICROSOFT. Immensely long print times, don't expect to quickly print something out, takes a couple of minutes for the print to process and run. I don't recommend this machine to anyone.
I had a Cannon MG3620 Printer/Scanner. It Scanned, Copied and Printed Great with no issues. The only complaint I had was I was spending a lot on Ink printing photos. So I decided to spend a little extra and get this Epson which had good reviews. I haven't had it long enough to tell how much it will save me on ink. The things I don't like are: It seems slow...... compared to my old Cannon, especially the scanner. On my old Cannon, everything was done on the computer. You never had to punch buttons on the printer, except unless it was out of paper. I cant print anything on the Epson without it having to press a button for OK or proceed. I also get this error saying printing is suspended due to paper mismatch, do I want to continue. I used to print all kinds of cards ... MoreI had a Cannon MG3620 Printer/Scanner. When I tried printing some cards and envelopes in the Epson, I had paper jams and inked smeared on the envelopes. I wish I had tried the Cannon MegaTank instead.
I hate this printer! I'm pretty technically savvy, but this is the least user friendly device of any kind I have ever encountered. We had a Canon printer for many years that was so intuitive to use. First complaint is the tiny screen that is on the front of the unit versus the top. If you want to wrench your back, get this printer. Unless you put it on top of a stack of books you cannot see this printer screen. Second the screen is so tiny even when your nose is in front of it you cannot read it! Finally, even after reading the 6000 page user manual on line, I cannot figure out how to change basic functions like paper size, double side printing, black and white or color. And to boot... it arbitrarily changes to multiple copies without my even having changed a ... MoreI hate this printer!
