Wow! What can I say? I have essentially transitioned from a Ford Model T to a Tesla. This Epson EcoTank was super easy to set up in that I only needed to look at the manual for knowing how to fill the ink tanks, since it was a new concept to me. I would truly recommend this product to anyone and everyone. It works for business people who print more frequently as well as those who print at home who do not print as frequently. The file that is called Drivers and Utilities Combo Package Installer is the one that helps you in detecting and installing your printer to the wifi network. After a quick reboot, you are all set to go whether it's your computer or your cellphone. You can print from either. Oh, and there is an app for your phone called the Epson Smart Panel app. There is also a full suite of embedded features that protect your data and there is even voice-activated printing!I thought the print quality was exceptional based on my HP which isn't very good for photos. You get auto 2 sided printing and the paper tray holds 250 sheets of paper. The printer has a 2.4"inch color touchscreen that is super easy to use. It prints up to 17 black/9.5 colors ISO ppm-print speed with no warmup time which is pretty fast and it costs about 2 cents per color ISO page vs 14 cents with a color laser toner. Big savings over time!I think this printer is great for business environments and will be using mine in my small business and taking the HP to the house where I don't print as much. There is a 2-year limited warranty on this product when you register it although the PrecisionCore permanent printhead is supposed to last the life of the printer. It is also ENERGY STAR qualified to so will also save you some money there.I really admire Epson for all their green initiatives from being ENERGY STAR qualified, to having this be a recyclable product and being a partner in SmartWay Transport which helps companies plan to reduce freight emissions. The quality of their products and these initiatives make them a company that I am happy to recommend.

I loved the idea of replacing my HP with unlimited ink. Now I don't mind half baked ideas... as long as they are still in the oven. I was so excited about two years free ink until I printed with it. It is a cute little printer. Light weight and not as solid as my other ink jets. The problem is that red prints as pink and all the colors are washed out like water colors. I have completed the installation, my printer is set to high quality, and color and have checked all the boxes. I even bought the Epson paper to make sure I would have the best quality. I am printing on a Mac so this could be the problem. I am returning it diassapointed.

Thankfully it was under the Geek Squad protection for a replacement or credit towards another printer.I purchased this after meeting an Epsom rep in the BB store. I was enamored by the ecotank function and the idea of only refilling certain inks as needed and the ease of refills. I got the impression my printing costs should go down as opposed to the monthly HP subscription.Setup was easy.I must admit I am not impressed. The colors seem faded and not very bright. The kicker was that it was a genuine HP cartridge and that I had recently replaced the magenta and yellow cartridges (with no problem) which were purchased earlier than the cyan toner. Apparently HP sends out wireless updates to its printers with the latest being 20221010. When none of the internet solutions worked, I tried resetting to the original factory default values, but that just gave me a 49 service error, which completely disabled the printer. I purchased the Epson 5150 because I didn't need the fax function. Setup was completed in about 45 minutes and connected easily to both the PC's and Mac's in our household. Filling the ink tanks is easy and spill-proof. Love that you can visually monitor how much ink is left in the tanks and that it will be much less costly to replace the ink than a laserjet printer. Printing is a little slower than my old laserjet printer, but it's not enough to be an issue. Color print quality is better, because I'm not trying to eke out the last portions of color laserjet toners with suboptimal print quality anymore.
The printer is ok. For the money and small business application I think I would have bought something else. The Automatic Document feed is barely functional. I don't think I've been able to load more than 3 pages without a paper jam yet. It happens everytime. Print quality is a 5 out of 10, and My print settings are set to "best/highest quality. On the plus side, ink levels have not budged since the first fill, and I've printed over 600 pages. So thats good. I would look elsewhere if you want a usable automatic document feed and good quality printing though.

However, it will not do a 2 sided original to 2 sided copy automatically. You need to manually put the original in the scanner glass and flip it. What a pain! Not productive for our office setting. Very nice tankless printer. Prints everything so much better than my old HP printer with cartridges. And I really do like the different sleek look of this printer, that's what attracted me to it from the start. The only cons of this printer is that the LCD screen is a bit too small, for the cost of this printer the screen should of been bigger. Also the way the paper feeds out you have to stick your hand in the middle to grab the printed papers and if your not careful you can crinkle the freshly printed papers. It would of been nice to have an easier way to grab them after printing. But I do like that you dont need to pull out a tray for the freshly printed papers.
