We purchased this printer for the office of our small charity. We print daily but not in great quantities so the size of the printer as well as the quality of the print and the print output are just right for us. Yes the ink is a bit on the expensive side but the cartridges are very efficient. It's a big step up from our old Brother printer which was an All-in-one model as well. I spent ages comparing printers on this website but think I made the right choice. The delivery was also quick and painless.

I bought this printer to replace an old Epson Workforce WF-7610 which lasted nearly 10 years. This printer feels cheap everything about it is poor. The screen is far too small the trays are flimsy and it won't connect to WifI even though the signal is -67dBm. What a mistake this has been.

Full disclosure, I bought this product yesterday and am writing this review to get the extended warranty. With this being said, this printer is extremely easy to setup out of the box and prints great from the first sheet. Very easy to add the printer to the home wifi network. A4 prints are very easy as you could imagine however A3 prints are more difficult because none of the feeder trays support A3 paper without having to leave a feeder draw hanging open which is annoying for me because I bought this printer to make A3 prints. All in all, after the first day of us this printer does the job fine.

I bought this as my HP duplex kept jamming and too expensive to repair. Ordering process was easy and was best price around. Delivery was on time. I had a bit of a problem getting the scanner to work, but I think that was more user error as my son got it working quite easily. Would recommend as a daily use work printer
I've had my WF7830 for only a month or so. It's used for printing plans in my engineering/drafting office at home. So far it's perfect. I was happy to get the cheaper model (instead of the 7840) without the bigger touch screen and I'm glad I did. It's more than adequate. At first it used multiple sheets when printing A3 but that was purely because of the 10+year old A3 paper I had fed into it. New paper = no problems. Also, as others have mentioned, the ink 'out of the box' isn't a lot. Having said that, I've got around 100 or so A3 plans before I had to replace. That's using the 'greyscale' print option though. So no colour used at all. In fact, the original colour reservoirs are still full. There is a small plastic cover plate to help keep dust off A3 sheets that are stored in printer which seems to be a good idea as the A3 needs to stick out the front of printer about 100mm or so if stored on board. So far it has been great.
nI am starting a new business as a Renovation Consultant and I love the versitality of this machine. I can print on multiple sizes including A3 for Architectural Drawings. It has clear print quality and prints colours very accurately for client illustrations and presentations. For a printer with this versitality I found it to be excellent value for money.
I bought this - sight unseen - of course - during our last lockdown as I needed to scan a3 drawings for uni. I read reviews & all seemed good, I bought extra ink, paper etc not sure how long this lockdown would be - only to find now that I need to print A3 there is nowhere to put the paper. It has to be fed from top or with the bottom tray extend open. What a ridiculous design to make something this huge & heavy (so heavy,20kg, I can’t lift it to bring it back.) that is only a few centimetres short of fitting a3 paper - and there is no tray in the printer. what a waste of money & space, I could have done that with a much smaller, cheaper & lighter unit.
Ink consumption is atrocious. I've just gotten rid of this printer because it seems to burn through a black cartridge in well under 50 pages. Printer is slough and don't particularly like the software - biggest problem being when there's no black you can't print.. AT ALL.. there might be a workaround - I havent found it if so and it's caught me out twice causing me big disruptions in my business. Didn't get on with it
After shopping around for a A3 printer set my mind to either the WF-7840 or WF-7830. Finally decided that the extras the 40 had were not really worth it for me. Due to the nature of my use case i do not really need to have A3 printing all the time which is fine with it's extending feeders. Might be a small thing but I feel that the automatic print holder should be a more talked about feature and in the past have had documents fallen when I have left the room to print so this is a great addition. Setup was very quick and intuitive with instructions straight on the devices screen. In this digital age I do not think adding a CD for drivers is required as the web installer has everything handled. Overall so far so good and just looks great.
Bought this printer for its A3 abilities. It prints and scans A3 very well (despite what some of the other reviews say). Colour scan and reproduction is excellent form both the auto document feeder(ADF) and the A3 glass top. This printer has 2 paper trays, Both can extend to hold A3 paper but I have dedicated the lower tray to hold A3 paper and an upper tray for A4 or swap out for cards, envelopes etc. BW print is very fast and color is good. This WF7830 has a small touch display to control it so using it for faxing can be tricky for people with big fingers (If faxing is important to you , I'd recommend the WF7840 which has larger screen and tactile dialing buttons). I found the "auto extending printout tray" a real hoot. It can be extended or retracted manually but also retracts by pressing a button on the touch screen. (I wish it could auto retract when it switches itself off). 4/4/5 out of 5 for quality, function and price.
