It's vinegar, it's brown, it's good. I have used this in a sweet and sour sauce and also in a vinaigrette for salad. It tastes just fine and added a bit of colour to the vinaigrette. I don't know what else to say other than if you want brown vinegar, this one is just fine. I have so many vinegars that it is just one more for me to choose from, and that can only be a good thing. I also liked that the container is plastic and has a handle which makes it much easier to handle than the big glass bottles most of my vinegar comes in. The 1L size and the low price make it a real deal too. I can highly recommend it.

Bottle design needs improvement. We don't use a lot of vinegar here but when we do, I prefer a narrow neck and mouth as it's easier to control amounts. The other reason being my husband being English simply cannot have hot chips without vinegar and this bottle design makes it difficult to splash over for him. So we prefer the name brand for this reason. Though if I get the chance I do refill his name brand bottle (unfortunately there is spillage but the vinegar is cheap so not a huge deal just mess to clean up) with this and he has no idea taste wise. If woolies changed the bottle shape and made a narrower top and even a lid that meant we didn't need to stab holes into it to effectively "shake" the vinegar out I know my husband would happily grab it from the shelf ... MoreBottle design needs improvement. Useful and a good price. Used in three different ways- vinaigrette dressing, tasty addition to salads- chips, makes them a little bit soggy but tasty- environmentally friendly glass cleaner. Cleaned full height glass shower frame and door. Spray or wipe over with vinegar dampened cloth, then sprinkle bi carb soda on cloth and wipe where vinegar has been sprayed. Clean off with very hot water on damp cloth. Cleans off soap scum or build up. Although we don't use a lot of vinegar we always have a bottle in the cupboard.

Vinegar with colour. This is the list of ingredients: Vinegar with colour (150c). I don’t understand this. If it’s white vinegar, why add colour 150c and not just sell it as white vinegar. I usually use Cornwell’s white vinegar to make dressings and my partner loves tomato sauce and vinegar on his chips when we have fish and chips. I did half and half with his chips and he couldn’t taste any difference. Maybe the tomato sauce had something to do with that! I will be looking for more ways to use this vinegar. As this is not described as a malt vinegar, which I thought brown vinegar was, I will not be buying again.

Useufl. This is the first time I have used brown vinegar, so looked at other people's reviews for ideas. it works fine for cleaning and I made mayonnaise with it today and really like the flavour. Was good with toasted sandwiches. Haven't used in a salad or to cook corned beef yet, but will when the opportunity arises. Have now used it to cook corned beef several times and I definitely like the new flavour it gives the meat. Will replace, when we run out.

Why?! This product confuses me. I don't understand the reason why or how to use brown vinegar. It is just vinegar with colouring. I tried to find uses for brown vinegar online but found them the same as other vinegars such as white, apple cider. I used it in a salad. When adding it I tried some on its own and found the flavour ok. But once I added it to the salad I found the flavour was lost. So I added more, still nothing. Pretty disappointing. Cheap and recyclable but otherwise unnecessary.

Great value, great price, versatile. This was out of stock at my local woolworths when i first looked for it but back in this week. Great value & great priced versatile pantry staple which has many uses in my household. I use if for fish & chips, sweet & sour recipes, corned beef & as a salad dressing & marinade ingredient. I prefer it's milder taste to white vinegar & it has great health benefits. I don't use a great deal so this conveniently sized bottle will last for ages. I prefer this plastic bottle to the brand name glass bottles for safety reasons. The taste is no different to the more expensive brand name productsI am pleased that it is made completely in Australia.

Old favourite. I’d somewhat forgotten about good old brown vinegar. In recent years, it’s been replaced in my pantry with wine vinegars, balsamic and whatever the latest flavour of the month is. Rich, robust earthy flavour. Beautiful on fish, chips and mushy peas (got to be mushy peas). But versatile too. Perfect for dressings, marinades or pickling. Great price too.

Just vinegar with brown colour. This is a type of vinegar that we don’t often use so it was a little tricky to think of what to use it on. A quick search found that brown vinegar is commonly used for pickling veg, cooking corned beef or as a dip for fish and chips (among others). None of these appealed to me so putting my creative cap on, I decided to use it (in place of white vinegar) in my one-pot braised pork dish. It still came out delicious using brown vinegar (recipe below)Would I buy again? No. The ingredients listed only two things: vinegar and colour 150c. Is this really just vinegar with colour added to it? Comparing it with my naturally fermented malt vinegar in the pantry, the malt tasted much stronger and less artificial. One-pot braised pork recipe: Ingredients: 1tbsp oil, minced garlic, sliced onion, 2 bay leaves, s&p to taste, splash of soy sauce, tsp brown sugar, 2tbsp vinegar (white or brown), 3 large pork spare ribs, 1tbsp Shaoxing wine. Method: In a non-stick pan, place all the ingredients and saute for 3mins. Lower heat then let it sweat until meat is tender and sauce is reduced into a thick, rich sauce. Stir ocassionally. Serve hot with steam rice.

Why pay more? Why pay more for a branded bottle of brown vinegar when this Woolworths Essentials bottle only costs $1. 05 and tastes just as good - if not better knowing how much money you have saved by buying this brand! The bottle is also a really cute size and has a great handle making it easy to pour. When I finish the brown vinegar in it, I will be keeping the bottle for other uses. So not only do you get a great value, great tasting brown vinegar for only a bit over a $1, you also get a great bottle to keep and reuse for other purposes!
