Would love resealable packaging. Great product but poorly packaged. Have to cut the bag open with scissors which comes with a puff of cornflour in the face. It's a messy bag to have in the pantry unless you like clouds of talc-like cornflour bursting up every time the bag is touched. Have to tie with elastic band then keep inside a plastic tub because I like the expiry date info to be able to refer to. Would be great if the bag had a resealable strip. Product is great for thickening gravies & sauces and also in baking, just unsuitable packaging for the product.

No thanks I'll stick to the branded one. I hate the bag and the powder inside is so super fine that you risk it going everywhere when you pop it in a container. This cornflour is very fine and you need to use a lot more in water to get the desired thickened result. And that's ok as it is cheaper. The main problem is that once whatever you have thickened is reheated it seem to revert back to it's former liquid state. This is especially awful for pie fillings that have been thickened, cooled, and then cooked in the pie. Yummy thick pie filling comes out all thin and runny, It also means that leftovers can be disappointing.

Great value for money and comparable with branded. Noticed Woolies have their own cornflour earlier this year and have been repurchasing ever since. It is great value for money at $1. 90 for 500g compared to $2. 70 for 300g. It's nearly a third of the price and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the two. The only thing that can be improved is the packaging. If it was in a box it would sit up right and be easier to pour. Right now, I have to open the bag and pour it into a container for easier access. Will continue to purchase and definitely recommend it to anyone!

Great Product. I have only ever bought brand name Cornflour so thanks Bunchteam for the opportunity to try this one. It's been in my pantry for some months as I wanted to use up my other one first. It is a bigger packet than the usual I buy so will take awhile to get through. I do wish it had a resealable top! Great value though and such a versatile product. I used it instead of flour for the 3 dip crumbing processand the result was a yummy thick crust for our pink snapper filletsI use cornflour to thicken stews and curries and also to make a batter for coating meat, chicken or fish in chinese meals e. g Sweet & Sour Pork or Lemon Chicken. and Chilli FishThe lemon curd in my Lemon Meringue Pie also has cornflourVery happy to make the switch from brand name to this ... MoreGreat Product. Inexpensive. I've used this for years to thicken sauces and gravies. It gives good results and provides a lump free end product. It is much cheaper than branded products and yet works just as well. I also use it to make Goop for children (approximately 1 1/2 cups cornflour to 1 cup water). Goop is a great sensory play activity. It is liquid in the bowl but turns into a solid when squeezed or spread on a table/tray. Experiencing it as it changes state and then back again provides a lot of fun and is a budget friendly activity.
Just as good. I purchased two bags of this cornflour today as I needed a refill and it is stored in a large airtight Tupperware container. They were only $1. 90 for each 500g bag. I have used this Woolworths cornflour before and have found it to be no different in colour, appearance and texture when mixed with water. My only fail was the bag it comes in must not be very strong as I threw the first one in the trolley OK but when I did the same for the second one it blew apart at the seam and cornflower went everywhere in my trolley, on the floor and over the products on the bottom two shelves. Thankfully there was a lovely young staff member called John who saw it and came to the rescue. I was too embarrassed to take a photo of him cleaning up. If big brother is out ... MoreJust as good. A quality product. This cornflour is a staple in my pantry. It’s a good sized pack, with packaging that can be recycled. The price is very reasonable. Cornflour is a versatile product and I use regularly from thickening gravy to making lemon meringue pie. My only negative is that it is packed with ingredients from overseas. It doesn’t say where the cornflour was made. It’s sad Woolworths can’t find any Australian made cornflour to use like other brands doYes will buy again.
Same as other brands. This cornflour is just like other brands only cheaper. It works well using the product as a thickener or using it to coat meats before cooking. The only thing I really don’t like about it is the packaging. I always make a mess trying to take some out of the packet and when I put it in a container I can never find one that is the right size. I would love this if already came in a container (like a milo tin or in the cylinders like baking powder). Other than that it is a top product.
Get excited. Oobleck fun! This is corn flour. Yes it is. I used it to thicken a sauce and it worked as expected. I’ll also use this in pizza base dough some time. But we also had fun with it. If you mix corn flour with just the right amount of water, it has an interesting property. it firms what’s called a non-Newtonian fluid. It will flow like a liquid, but when you poke it with some force, it goes hard. You can even pick it up with your fingers. But as soon as you stop agitating it, it turns back to a liquid. Want to try it yourself? Add maybe 1/2 a cup of corn flour to a bowl, then gradually add water, mix, add more water, mix etc. It’s ready when you see it flow when you gently move the bowl, but is difficult to mix with a spoon. Expect to make a mess though. So ... MoreGet excited. Oobleck fun! This is corn flour. Yes it is. I used it to thicken a sauce and it worked as expected. Brilliant price. Very versatile. This is fabulous product. The quality and price makes for an outstanding purchase. I was running low in cornflour at the time of redeeming my bunch offer as I’m always using it for thickening gravy’s & casseroles, coating meats etc. I recently used the Woolworths Essentials Cornflour to make a vanilla cake for a friend who has numerous dietary requirements and always seems to be missing out on the yummy things in life. This is a product you’ll find stocked in my pantry from now on
