Estee Lauder Daywear Matte Oil Control Anti Oxidant Moisture Gel Creme 50ml

I hate saying the phrase "holy grail product"....but i really think i found my holy grail matte moisturizer❤ i have tried a few wonderful matte moisturizers that i really liked but this one takes the cake. If you have really oily skin like me do yourself a favor and go get this. Its usually $50 which is expensive but its on sale for $35 at Ulta right now. Not sure how long the sake lasts though. Anyway, its a light blue gel cream that has a really nice subtle fresh scent. It spreads easily so a little goes along way. It absorbs fast and has a matte finish and when i say it controls my oil all day i mean it. First Impressions on Creme - Now, going on to the creme, the creme inside is a light baby blue color, very cute, but can be alarming for those that has to stay away from dyes due to sensitive skin. But, it is unique none the less. Now, after I felt the creme before application, I do like it kept the texture of most moisturizing gel cremes I have used. They clearly gave the ingredient list a lot of depth with more natural alternatives which explains the fruity mixture scent. The ingredient list itself is not that long. Though, there is some ingredients that people should be wary of such as these Butylene Glycol, preservative, solvent- to dissolve" humectant- retain moisture, bad for skin Propropylene- plastic dimethicone, protects from all skin irritants, but can retain all good and bad sebum, bacteria, and skin oils which can lead to worser acne or excess oil Caffine, should've never even been in this. Fragrance, besides the extracts in which was unnessasary to add. Those can be harmful and can go against its main directive. My Experience - I have been using this as a replacement for my moisturizer for the past two-three weeks. I have to say, for the price given, it's not that great. This was recommended to me because do to oily/combination skin types, lighter gel cremes are easier to absorb which means less clogging of pores do to traditional moisturizers. I am always ready to try new facial products everyday, but this one drastically disappointed me. Now, I do like that all it took was a little dab on your checks, forehead, chin, t-zone etc and it spread all over your face easily. A little does go a long ways with this one. It is very light as expected and it sinks in very well and quickly. That is a miracle thing for you all makeup-wearers. It can be worn under whatever you put on without much hassle. My skin did feel very soft afterwards and had no shine, at first. Now, it wasn't until the coarse of a couple of days went by that I started to notice there was no main difference or reduce in shine on my skin. If anything, compared to my previous moisturizer, my face felt even oiler and caked up by the end of the day despite washing my face that morning. Even if I wipe it off and reapply at noon, by night, my face is still extremely oily. I even noticed that more acne popped up when I was using it compared to when I wasn't using it. I am not sure if this do to my skin not being used to it yet or just plain the fault in the product. Either way, despite it's overall feel and brand tag. I feel like this was a hit and miss for me. I think you all could try it if you have combination skin or just plain dry skin, but this one is not formulated for those it's marketed to. It makes a potentially great product a complete fail in my book.

A great cream if you are ok with getting monthly.

I've used the ReNutriv Lightweight daily and barely made a dent, it will last a while. However you need too much of the DWM cream to get the matte effect. I would say one large peanut sized amount is what I needed, so I went through this quickly. I have also tried using this by itself over my very drying astringent and by itself and it's the same thing. I do like the matte finish and the antioxidants which are nice in the summer, but I couldn't even see myself buying a vheap cream every month as if I need the money for other things I rather have a jar last a while. The ReNutriv lightweight is actually a better deal and I will be looking for a drugstore matte antioxidant cream.

Grateful for Daywear Matte

I’ve used the other Daywear for years, never knew of the Daywear Matte until a few months ago. I tried getting it at a Macy’s a few times but they seemed to always be out. That right there told me it must be good because they never have it. Well finally my 3rd time in the store, someone finally helps me and ordered it for me. It took about 3 weeks to arrive so I’ve only used it a few times. But those few times I can see I will be ordering in advance because this stuff is amazing for my skin type. I live in Texas and the heat is terrible this summer but my face looks great. I have half jar of regular Daywear that I’ll probably never wear again. I love Daywear Matte!

Great Moisturizer

Tried so many moisturizers and none seemed too work. Too greasy, not hydrating enough, too expensive then I found this product. I have been using for 3 yrs and will continue using it. Does everything I needed it to do and no greasiness. Please don't stop making this product. Thanks Estee Lauder for helping an 68yr old female feel better about her skin. It's a little pricey but worth every penny.

Great for shiny skin

This is honestly the best day cream I have ever used. Unfortunately you do get what you pay for, as I have tried so many cheaper brands that turned out to be a waste of money! I have really oily skin and my face is so shiny. I used to have to apply powder several times a day to keep my face matte, but since using this cream I don't have to do it nearly so often. It feels lovely when it goes on, and I feel it tightens as well as moisturises my skin.

Overall Very Good for Super Oily Skin

I'll start off by saying my skin is VERY sensitive and will dry out if I even look at the wrong product. At the same time it's SUPER oily. The oil control format is a game changer!!! It does dry my skin out a little if I use it everyday so I interchange it with the Neutragena's Hydroboost. It works so well at containing my oil throughout the day and my face is still pretty matte by the end of the day. I try to keep the usage for when I'm wearing makeup or not washing my hair that day (so my face doesn't add extra oil) because it is quite pricey and I find I need a use a little more than normal to cover my entire face and neck. But if you're super oily and looking for relief give this a try!

Pretty jar but won't repurchase

My skin tends to be combination/oily, and I can be prone to some sheen. As I have entered my 40s, I find a facial moisturizer can be very beneficial. I was excited to try this one when it was on sale, since the matte function of it plus moisturizing properties sounded perfect. The jar is gorgeous, and the product feels light going on. It absorbs very quickly, and I find myself using a lot more than I normally would with other facial moisturizers. The smell is light and pleasant and if I'm having a no makeup day, the overall look of my face is quite nice. Unfortunately, I've tried several foundations over this moisturizer of varying formulas, and the all end up caking on top of my skin and looking blotchy and uneven. Skin is important

Honestly my skin used to get so oily I started my skincare change & now that I changed my skincare this is one moisturizer that helped my skin look so good! Even under make up this moisturizer & night serum make my makeup look so good! I recommend to introduce skincare slowly so you won't purge or if you do you know why! I didn't purge with none of Estée Lauder's products I highly recommend for you to try & give some time! Also I want to add I live in a desert state so if you know you know lol

my new fav moisturizer

I’ve cycled through so many daytime moisturizers, and ones that claimed to reduce oil than I can count over the years. I have finally found one that actually does something. No moisturizer will completely dry out your face and make it completely matte, but this moisturizer does a pretty darn good job while still retaining moisture and healthy skin. The scent can be slightly offputting initially, but you get used to it and it does not at all linger. The moisturizer applies Very seamlessly and seeps into my pores. I love it, I have used one full jar and already stocked up on two more.
