With no samples in store due to COVID and determined to buy a red lipstick, a friend recommended I try the online camera...HUGE, EXPENSIVE mistake. "Outsmart" is a
hideous orangey-coral lipstick and looks NOTHING like the red that the online camera depicted. R700 down the drain and no recourse. I feel robbed. Bad show, Estée Lauder.

I've spent years trying to find the right red lipstick for me. I'd usually end up having one of two issues: the lipstick that at first looked red, would always end up looking pink in different light. Or the lipstick that I thought was finally the perfect red, would bleed outside the lip liner and/or smudge onto the tip of my nose after eating!I just happened to see this lipstick advertised, and found the gorgeous red colour was "Rouge Excess". I bought it,and was first of all very impressed with the design. The lipstick comes in a stunning tube that is lovely in itself The lipstick itself glides on and feels like silk. Despite a lack of colour samples in all the shops that I went in,I have now bought 3 of these - Deny, Sting and more recently Let Go which I bought online which was a gamble as I hadnt seen a sample so couldnt try first, but I am really pleased with.They are all lovely, full of colour and whilst there is a small amount of transfer on cups, they do last several hours. They are not a stain so do not last all day.They are easy to apply, for some reason give my lips a lovely shape and feel light and creamy.I just dont understand why you launch a product with so many colours but dont have the samples available to try? It is an expensive gamble.... Show more

This is a gorgeous lipstick. The packaging is shiny and luxe, it has a pleasing weight to it and the lid has a magnetic closure which means it won't escape in your bag.However the real star is the formula. It is highly pigmented - one swipe is enough - and last really, really well for such a hydrating formula. It wears evenly and stays in place. It is lightweight and doesn't feel 'waxy' in the way that other highly pigmented lipsticks do.I got 'shoutout' which is a wearable but impactful Taylor Swift-esque red.... Show more

The packaging is really beautiful and luxurious and the bullet has a nice pleasing aesthetic. The range has a really good variety of high impact colours but I do think the range of muted colours for paler skin and everyday wear could be improved. The formula is a really nice pigmented wear, you only need one swipe to get full coverage. However, the shape of the lipstick and it's creaminess makes it difficult to get a sharp line, you really need to use a brush for this. Additionally the formula easily smudges, stains your skin with just a small amount of product and is difficult to remove.... Show more

Mum and I decided to treat ourselves to a girlie trip to boots, as it's both our favourite shop. We were both wanting a lipstick that lasts so decided to try a more expensive range. The lady on the desk was very helpful she helped us find the colour we wanted and assured it lasts hours!!! NO IT DOESN'T it goes on and comes off on everything you touch, cup, lips, it's off in the hour. Maybelline lasts longer and I could have bought 3. Really disappointed. What makes it worse when we complained to estee lauder response " its preference " actually no it isnt , lasting means lasting I have had chapstick last longer.... Show more

Smooth and Silky

A nice creamy lipstick that glides on smooth and feels great. This is a nice bright red, but it has a more yellow base so maybe not a rich a red as the pure color envy reds. I think it still pops. However, one's skin tone will make a difference in how this looks, but the wear and feel will still be great. I love it!... Show more

Smooths the dryness

The amazing thing with this product is, if you do have dry lips, this lipstick does not show the dryness like many others do, it keeps a seamless, smooth look, almost as if someone has filled the cracks and painted over them. It also didn't add to the dryness I already had throughout the wearing of the product. This is something I really loved about the lipsticks in this range. It is a very pigmented formula and a little goes a long way and it does last very well throughout the day. With all red lipsticks, I do advise using a brush when applying this lipstick to help stay within the lines, as to remove a mistake may ruin the rest of your makeup due to the great pigmentation, I did find it a bit harder to remove easily.... Super luxe lips

I decided to treat myself to yet another lipstick and after a lot of looking went for the shade Seduce as I was looking for a soft natural pink close to my own lipcolour. It was on a recent promotion - the £30+ price barrier for me is a big leap hence the purchase! Seduce is a tiny bit lighter and cooler toned than I was expecting but is a gorgeous formula. Smooooth application, no dragging. It's a little heavier on the lip than PC Envy and lasts longer. Very comfortable and full colour coverage. The case is quite heavy and is so so glamorous. The product itself is the same size as the Blooming lip balm at 3.2g. So yes it's another winner from EL for me and I will have a look at one of the deeper tones for a winter treat.
