Putain Des Palaces Perfume by Etat Libre D'orange, Released in 2006, Putain des Palaces is made with the femme fatale in mind, undeniably feminine, ambitious and seductive. The first spritz invokes powdery violet notes, but the scent swiftly unfolds into something more complex and daring. Leather, amber, rose and musk form a sensual, animalic shroud shot through with bright and lively mandarin orange, lily-of-the-valley and ginger. The enduring accord stirs passions and encourages boldness and intimacy. Etienne de Swardt founded Etat Libre D’Orange (“The Orange Free State”) with the intent to launch novel and borderline controversial compositions. Dissatisfied with traditional perfumery, de Swardt built the brand on the concept of revolution against the industry standards, from the name taken from a sovereign republic in South Africa to the three-colored rosette on every bottle. The brand’s works - all unisex fragrances - were made in collaboration with various perfumers and a number of celebrities from Tilda Swinton to the Sex Pistols.
