This perfume is really challenging for me. It makes me feel everything but “rien.” It is so incredibly potent that the name translating to “nothing” is so ironic. The opening smells so spot on to Catholic mass that blasting hymns on an organ and dousing me with incense would’ve had the same effect. There’s even dusty notes of old wood and books. As it dries down, it adopts a more sinister leather and aldehydic scent and sticks closer to the skin. It’s similar to Slow Explosions by Imaginary Authors. First spray is a massive sharp punch of resiny amber. My very first thought was "Chanel No. 5?" because it does have that timeless vintage amber vibe to it. The dry down is a gorgeous ambery, woody, smoky leather with a touch of peppery spice.Rien is one of my favourites from ELDO. The notes blend in such a way that none are specifically overpowering or clashing, and each note wafts to the forefront every so often just to remind you it's there. All the while it remains a smoky leather, amber scent that has that classic vintage perfume vibe. I'd recommend Rien for leather, smoke and amber lovers, and those who appreciate the vintage charm of days gone by.

Rien, along with Bandit are probably the best dry, unsweetened leathers around. Rien opens with a burst of aldehydes, grubby civet and a beautiful resinous frankincense. Rien is almost entirely devoid of sweetness expect for a tiny ambery touch in the drydown and as it develops, you get a whisper of rose but other than that, it stays fairly linear. A masterpiece

fantastic scent, ,i dont think its a mass appealer, you will have to like the incense, but its light, just 1 mans opinion, was a blind buy and i was completely happy with it
