I received a free product trial of this Eucerin Skin Balance Facial Night Cream from PinchMe and have been using it nightly for a few weeks now. This moisturizer is enriched with Tri-Balance Complex + Pro-Vitamin B5 which claims to noticeably soothe, moisturize, and fortify skin to help support skin's resilience for calmer, softer, more radiant skin. In my experience with this cream, I would definitely describe it as rich and hydrating. It initially has a smooth texture that easily applies to your skin, but it does take awhile to absorb. Every time I applied this cream, I felt like I had a layer of stickiness to my face, almost reminiscent of slathering myself with Vaseline. While this wasn’t a huge deal since this isn’t a daytime moisturizer, it’s worth noting that it wasn’t always a pleasant sensation. I did like the airless package technology, it has valve filters and fortified seals to help protect the preservative-free formula and it makes for a mess-free pump every time. My biggest issue with this product was the fact that I had a bad reaction to it. After using this nightly for just a few days, it caused painful cystic acne all over my face. I kept using this product thinking that maybe my skin needed time to adjust, but almost 2 weeks later, and nothing had improved (it had only gotten worse). I checked the ingredients to see what could be the culprit, and I’m convinced it’s the vegetable oil. Because the ingredient list doesn’t specify, this could be argan, jojoba, castor, and the list goes on. This makes it difficult for me to know what ingredient was the source of my skin irritation and clogged pores, so that’s a big part of why I won’t be buying or recommending this product.

This is a cream that feels almost like water, very lightweight absorbs fast onto my skin, it also feels rich at the same time, my skin feels soother after I apply it, feels nourished and looks calmer. What I like the most it doesn’t leave a greasy sensation or film on my skin. I recommend using it only at night because during the day you should use a moisturizer with sunscreen. I have combination skin: my t-zone is oily and my cheeks are dry in the winter and normal in the summer, but I live in a very dry place, so in the winter my cheeks get pretty dry. But I kept on using the cream every night, and it was enough for my dry areas, so it surprised me. I love that the cream is not in a jar, which is a big thing for me. I never buy products in jars (see comment above.)So, let's compare Eucerin's three claims against my experience.1.) Cosmetic companies often do this when they want to keep their formulations proprietary. Which I get, but as consumers, we want to know what we are putting on our skin. Skin is our body's largest organ, and things we slather onto our faces and bodies do make their way into our bloodstream. I try to know what ingredients are before I use products, but a lot of companies make it hard by not disclosing what the ingredients really are.For instance, in this night cream, their star ingredient is "Tri-Balance Complex." They say it "noticeably soothes, hydrates, and fortifies skin to help support skin's resilience for calmer, softer, more radiant skin." Ok, that's great and all, but what is it? Eucerin does not tell us. Also unknown from the ingredients list is Methyl Palmitate. I couldn't find anything on that either.But there are several stellar ingredients in this cream: Glycerin (hydration and anti-aging,) Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter (anti-aging, hydration, and soothing,) and Panthenol (hydration and soothing,) to name a few.All in all, I think this is a good overall night cream. I think Eucerin is on the right track with this product. I give them big kudos for the airless packaging, making it free of fragrance, preservatives including parabens, alcohol, dyes, and paraffins. Besides the two mystery ingredients that I couldn't find anything on, the rest of the ingredients are average or awesome. So almost a perfect product except for those two mystery ingredients. When I first started using the cream I thought it wouldn't be moisturizing enough, but with use and time, it is, so I can't hold that against this cream either. I think this night cream would be suitable for dry skin, normal skin, sensitive skin, and if you give it time, very dry skin. I think this is a worthy contender at the drugstore or super market.Now we just need to get the cosmetics companies to disclose every single ingredient in their products. A beauty lover can dream, right?

I’ve always liked Eucerin products so I was pleased to receive a free sample of their Skin Balance Facial Day Cream from PINCHme. This tri-balance complex cream is fairly thick and is dispersed using airless package technology, helping protect it from oxidation and impurities. It has absolutely no scent, which I prefer and one pumps worth will cover my face. I use another pump for my neck area. I tend to break out easily, but so far I have had no issues. However at this time of the day I have more of a dry skin. This cream is just the right ream for my skin ,it provides a good hydration without a greasy feel. It absorbs nicely and goes well with other skincare products. I apply this cream after my serum, eye cream and before the sunscreen. I really enjoyed using the Eucerin Skin Balance Facial Day Cream. I loved the packaging and reading on the box the reason why they chose the specific type of packaging. It just seems less likely to have any type of bacteria floating around, like a jar moisturizer that we stick our fingers into would. I love that the moisturizer is free from a lot of the icky ingredients we tend to see in beauty products (in my experience, they’re especially found in drugstore brands). My skin tends to be combo/oily with areas of dryness. It also can break out or have an allergic reaction to random ingredients at times, so I was really grateful that the Eucerin moisturizer didn’t cause any of that. The only complaint I have is that by the very very end of the day (before bedtime) my skin was in fact greasier than normal and felt a little bit slimy. However I will say that I don’t think that will be the case for everyone; I think that someone who doesn’t have as much oil or oily areas in their face would not become oily after using this moisturizer. I think it’s deeply hydrating in a lightweight way, and I could just be extra oily right now (I feel like I would typically be drier, but it’s been a mild winter here). Eucerin made a great moisturizer and I’ll definitely recommend it to anyone!

Thick and hydrating day cream

I was very lucky to receive the Eucerin Skin balance facial day cream to review. This cream was very thick and moisturizing on the skin. At first, I thought this would sit on my skin but with warm hands it absorbed into my face and neck. I applied the face cream after toner and serum. The cream worked well with the other skincare products I use. I also used the cream on my hands, which have been very dry. The product came in a pump bottle which I love but the pump is rounded and sometimes the product comes out like string cheese. I like a pump bottle but maybe a flat pump instead of round. Overall, I'm very happy to receive this cream for review. The thick, emollient Eucerin day cream is great for my dry skin and being over 40 I love finding new skincare products.
