Eufy Video Dual Cam 2K Doorbell (Battery) with Homebase 2

Started out well, I was impressed with the Eufy dual doorbell camera to begin with, the setup was straightforward and it looked like it would be a good product. I stopped receiving notifications after 3 day three of installation, and found the homebase was unable to connect to the doorbell in the app, both on local and remote networks.I removed the doorbell camera in the app and tried to re-add it using the setup process, which failed every time the doorbell tried to connect to wifi. (Both my phone and doorbell were on the same 2.4GHz wifi network as required). I then tried setup using two other wireless access points, but the doorbell camera wifi wouldn't connect.In the process of returning the kit for a refund - I will try my luck with another brand instead.

Had it for 3 days. Great video quality, good loud speaker and it doesn its job very well. Human detection works well and the Homebase and phones instantly responses when pressing the doorbell. There is a slight delay for about 3 seconds of video and audio transfer, but it is acceptable to me. Importantly, I am happy that I don't need to subscribe to use all functions, and makes me feel secured as it can also be used as a video camera to look outside whenever you want. Absolutely love it and highly recommend. Original retail price seems quite expensive, but it was in bargain during Black Friday. If you been thinking of buying it, just go and buy it when it is on sale.

For the high cost this is not a great product. While initially working really well the device stopped pairing within a month of purchasing it. What stuff can go wrong I do not understand how Eufy does not either provide an immediate replacement or a refund for its faulty product. PB Tech said that it was a vendor requirement to send back. Don't waste your money with this product or vendor.

Set up was easy. The day after I installed this we recorded a package being stolen.Issues - doorbell wasn't heard - I moved the homebase to our kitchen to improve the audibility of the door bell (it was in the home-office prior) & to be sure I bought a 30 buck amazon echo dot to act as an extra doorbell speaker.. probably overkill.- Motion detect kicked in late because the thief ran in from a blindspot - best to set up the doorbell so that it detects people approaching from a distance if possible- HDR didn't kick-in in time - I caught a single frame of the hooded person's face, but was too shadowed to make out any features - unavoidable in my case.This is a good product for most people - consider whether it will do what you need it to do. A great system with one major flaw

Eufy products are well made with great features. The one and only problem is the geofencing is completely unreliable. As a result the alarm/notifications will frequently go off when you are home or possibly not be armed when you are out. The only alternative is to manually switch the security on as you leave the house and off when you arrive.This seems to be a common problem for many Eufy users and something Eufy have known about for years but are still to address. This is the achilles heel in an otherwise great DIY security system.

Best Video doorbell on the market for the price.

I wanted to upgrade from the unit I had as it was cheap and poor quality. I had spent sometime researching video doorbells and found that for value and quality for price the Eufy was the best suited. Install was very easy due to the fluent instruction manual that was clear and direct. Illustrations helped, especially seeing my front door is angled to the alcove and the extra mounting brackets that came with the doorbell made mounting efficient so camera covers the whole alcove. I have hard wired the power on mine eliminating having to remove for charging. Unit has a good range and signal. The picture is very clear and detailed even at night.

Eufy Video Doorbell - Would Recommend

Have had a slight issue with drop out when speaking to someone via the video & phone, I believe Eufy are aware and are updating software. Now battery life, will last a while if used on very basic setting with no notifications or video, just doorbell mode only. But when used to it’s full potential the battery seems to be draining quiet quickly, after 14 days use, battery is at 50% from fully charged. This is on human detection only, with customised options. The fewer options you have running the more the battery will last. I’m fine with that as it’s very easy to charge it up again. If this bothers you then probably eat to go with the wired option. Eufy doorbell 2K wireless

I do like this product however the alert that are supposed to let me when people walk past the doorbell appear random. Sometimes it does and others it doesn’t eg. I received a call from my daughter from inside the house but I didn’t receive a detection notification to say that someone had been near the front door even though that’s the only way to enter. A few days ago I did 3 out of the 4 times that she visited. So it appears random. One time I received a detection notification when none was there. I’m sure that I have set it up but maybe I haven’t. I will check this out. What I do like is that I can see real time vision of what is happening at my front door from anywhere in the world at anytime.

Gr8 Video Doorbell, local vid storage, gr8 quality

Very good product. Easy to install, and the Eufy Software is some of the best home automation software I've used. It just works and the setup is very smooth. Also, the thing that perhaps isn't advertised as clearly as it could be is that the Homebase is an internal chime as well. The only minor gotcha when setting up, is making sure the person who sets it up invites other people in the house so the can "see" the devices already setup in the house - the homebase and doorbell once their Eufy account is set up - otherwise they won't "see" the devices. The other good thing about this combo, is that you can add other Eufy Security devices compatible with the Homebase, such as wireless cameras, which makes this product really good value. Highly recommended.

Very good but quirky setup

The picture quality and dual cameras are very good. It also has night vision with inbuilt lights. The initial setup can be very frustrating to get the bell paired to the Base station. It took a few goes plus email support to Eufy in California to get bluetooth pairing set.The Bell works only on 2.4 gig wireless not 5gig . The Base station is connected to a router or switch via Ethernet. It also the sound device for the Door bell.The Base can be used for a number of devices including Cameras - no luck connecting a wireless Dufy Camera in my setup.The Camera video and audio can be stored on the inbuilt memory in the base or sent out via the Dufy Security app.
