Exo Terra Repti Glo Compact 10.0 13W UVB
Exo Terra Reptile UVB 150 Compact Lamp 13W The advantage of the Exo Terra Repti Glo Compact Fluorescent bulb is its size and the fact that it is self-ballasted. A regular screw fitting is sufficient to operate these bulbs. The spiral shape of the bulb enables vertical or horizontal mounting without compromising performance. It is recommended to combine a high UVB output (Repti Glo 5.0 and 10.0) with a very high visual light output (Repti Glo 2.0) for optimal results. Fluorescent bulbs do not provide sufficient heat. A separate heat source is required in addition (ex: incandescent basking lamp). The Exo Terra Repti Glo 10.0 has a very high UVB output similar to that associated with desert environments. Desert locations receive more direct sunlight than any other because of fewer clouds, less air humidity and no plants or trees to provide shade. Therefore desert reptiles are more exposed to UV radiation than any other type of reptile. This bulb can also be used on screened terrariums or terrariums with dense screen covers to ensure UVB penetration. Dense screens can filter out up to 50% of the UVB rays.

Please avoid using this for bearded dragons. This light gave my beardie swollen eyes and he would shut his eyes all of the time from how concentrated the light was. After I turned it off he would be completely normal. This light is way too harsh.

Pharaoh, our bearded dragon, had a heat bulb go out. We bought this bulb as a replacement. He is so warm during the day, that his mouth is open or he crawls to the cooler side of his environment. Thanks, Petco, for supplying Pharaoh's needs.

Purchased this bulb at Petco to replace a previous one of the same that burned out atop a turtle tank. This desert bulb is necessary to penetrate the screen mesh used.

This brand Bob for reptiles is one of the better options, it seems to last longer than the other brand available. My reptiles enjoy this particular brand Elaine better than most. And if they're happy I'm happy!
I bought this last week also lasted 2 days and paying $25 for it need to say I'm not a happy person. Either is my baby bearded dragon right now. Will not buy this again returning the whole lighting set and everything for something new.
I bought this not even a eeek ago and the bulb is already blown out! it was flickering within 2 days of use, changed it to a different lamp, still did the same thing, and now it's completely done.
I really needed a bulb that did uvb/uva as well as heat for my reptiles, which I normally can buy a 150watt for $10 at the animal expo i go to, but mine broke and i didnt have a spare. My only options were to buy this one and use a different heat source or buy one for $60 which is outrageous. It would work well if you didnt need heat.
I use this in my tortoise enclosure and have had great results. One very bright and lively tortoise. With a very smooth shell growth. I was recommended to try this bulb after being let down by the Arcadia d3 compact (they kept breaking after 4/6wks). These Exo Terr bulbs are great and both have lasted 6-8 months. I haven't had any eye problems at all ( i had read that compact bulbs can harm tortoises eyes). I have one very active, healthy and inquisitive tortoise.
I'm tired of these things failing in short order. Just installed a new one and it was bad the same day which has happened before. Junk!
Hum what can I say? These are UVB bulbs, I screw them in and they work. What more is there to say?... Actually yes! If you are in an area that has "brown outs" where the power company reduces your power but not a complete "black out". Turn off or unplug your fixtures that have these bulbs or they will get fried!!!! and they are really expensive to unnecessarily replace.
