The instructions don't explain the metal lever that runs under the battery compartment. It interferes with one of the mounting lugs, so you can't put a detector up with no battery. I wish the instructions explained this, i was test fitting everything before mounting and couldn't figure out how to close the unit up.

Bought one of these Family First CO alarms five years ago from Bunnings for $30. Installed it in our caravan near the fire alarm they were a near match an unobtrusive to the eye. Haven’t had it alarm under adverse conditions (except testing) which is a good thing! Pity it has now failed and needs to be replaced; original one had 3 years warranty, not sure if that’s changed, but I will probably go with the same one again. CO is a definite killer & these alarms give piece of mind.

Works well but the beeping is very loud, it is starting to give me a headache and make me feel dizzy.
