Well, we were very happy that the food arrived earlier than expected. Woo Hoo!!!!! Something that has never happened b4, the box of canned food we opened and are currently using, has really dented cans in it. (cans from the bottom and sides of the box) I don't know how this happened so I will not speculate. Like I said... this has never happened b4! We use their delivery frequently and have been pretty much satisfied.

Adopted a kitten from pound and when I brought her hone she couldn’t eat the dry kitten food cuz her teeth were too tiny to bite the food. Thank goodness I bought cans of Fancy Feast kitten before coming home. She swallowed it so fast as if she hadn’t eaten in a week. She was about a pound and now 4 weeks later is 3.5 pounds. She is slender but needed the nutrition cuz she isn’t fat at all. She eats about one can a day and sometimes more and supplements with dry kitten chow ( no she doesn’t have worms either , just active and catching up for what she didn’t have in her life before the pound found her in a field.). She’s happy, healthy, and super loved. They don’t make many brands of kitten canned food. I had to order a big box because it runs out at every store. It ... I have a 4 month old kitten (Ohbleo) and I have never had a kitten before. All the cats I've had throughout my life have been adults who were adopted from a shelter or rescue group. So I just figured all the adult cats were finicky eaters because of something that happened in their past life. When I got my kitten I was excited to "teach" my kitten to embrace a variety of food! I wanted her to eat dry food in the morning and wet food at night, and to eat sea food, chicken and even beef.It did not work out, until, I tried the Fancy Feast Tender Kitten Pate Variety Pack! Ohbleo just loved them! All of them. I was expecting her to turn up her nose on at least one of the varieties, but she devoured all of them with no hesitation.

This food is truly grain-free, many manufacturers may take out corn or wheat but add in potato starch or other starches to make up for the lost volume of the grain (and make the product cheaper to produce). In looking at the nutritional analysis of Fancy Feast Kitten food (you have to go out and find the research, this is not the same as the minimums found on the cans) a higher maximum percentage of protein and fat are in this cat food along with a lower maximum percentage of carbohydrates. This is important to me as cats are obligate carnivores, they will stay healthier longer and have an easier time maintaining healthy weights with fewer carbohydrates. This is important to me as cats are obligate carnivores, they will stay healthier longer and have an easier time maintaining healthy weights with fewer carbohydrates. This brand of cat food most flavors also contain liver what is an excellent source of protein for cats. Cats also rarely consume enough water no matter what kind of contraption you have to encourage them to drink. This is why for feeding I do 75% of daily calories as wet food and mix some dry food with each serving. It helps keep little tummies from getting upset from just wet food, but also makes sure they're getting enough water. This is key because over a lifetime that helps reduce the risk of bladder and kidney stones which can cause medical problems, but also litter box aversion problems. My cat enjoys all the flavors. It is a little frustrating that most flavors (even the ones not listed in this specific package), no matter the "flavor", contain fish. I have a serious shellfish allergy and as manufacturers are not required to specify which type of "fish" is contained in the product, and many will use ground up or boiled shrimp shells, it's a safety issue for me so I try to avoid it when I can. As far as taste goes, I've been feeding this to my kitten since he was 8 weeks old, he happily chomps down his food at every meal, I tried two other kitten foods that were more expensive and surprisingly less nutritionally balanced and he would only eat 1/4 or 1/2 of a serving. My cat is half Bangle- he's an extremely high energy cat, following the recommendation for feeding based on weight on this product and then adding in a small amount of another brand of dry food has kept him exactly on track as far as weight gain and growth according to his vet.I recommend this product, I will say as with all canned cat food there's definitely a cat food smell to it. I use a small stainless steel trash can with a lid to put empty cans and lids in to keep it separated from the other trash so it doesn't make the normal trash can so smelly.
After doing some research and learning the benefits of wet food for my new kittens, I set about the task of finding the right food. I quickly found out that wet food is more expensive than dry kibble. I have settled on a mix of wet and dry food to get my kitties daily calorie intake. I'm having to try some different varieties of dry food to get them to eat it, but they LOVE (in all caps) this brand of food. It comes in different flavors so they get some variety and when they hear the can open they are immediately at my feet and ready to eat. I was afraid it was going to stink, but honestly it smells like a can of tuna or similar human food. Its not bad at all and they love it. I have only fed one can of this to my kitten and he ate his normal amount so he must like it. I like that it costs about $10 less than the other Purina kitten food cans I was buying and Fancy Feast is also a Purina product. That said, the packing job was terrible and I cant believe the wastebasket that I bought wasnt damaged. Ten pounds worth of kitten food cans thrown into an WAY oversized box and allowed to roll around with other products is uncalled for. Last time I bought canned kitten food from Walmart, the product box was opened and the cans were loose in the box so I was stupid for expecting anything better this time, I guess.
I previously tried a different wet food brand, but our fur baby Tommy got an upset stomach constantly, so that was a no go..We explained to the Vet that Tommy was not eating too fast, and actually seemed a bit cautious while eating that brand, and the Vet told us that any kind of wet food is an upgrade over dry food, and that the wet food in general wasn't the problem. We were told not to feed him the one giving him an upset stomach in case its allergies; or an ingredient that doesn't sit well with him. When we mentioned perhaps going back to fancy feast, which we stopped as we read some Vets don't approve apparently, the Vet said that its completely fine as its nutritional value is actually very good, and that it has a good balance of protein/carbs.Note: he ... I got these for Frankie about a week ago, she enjoys wet food as more of a treat than as a meal. I think she enjoyed the fusion of milk in these because she licked off all the juice from the pate (her favorite part) for every can I opened. I was surprised because she prefers the turkey/chicken flavors over the seafood, but with these she loved it all. I think the size is the perfect treat for her. I'm able to split these in half and that way she will eat all of the contents instead of wasting half a can. Frankie did well after every new flavor introduced to her. Her diet was not affected at all. She was just a happy girl, who loved fancy feast kitten classic pate flavors.
My kittens love this. I have 2 dropper fed babies that like this mixed with KMR. I'm a retired vet tech and I won't feed my cats or dogs grain-free foods. I'm not sure why this is labeled this way but thankfully it's not. I checked the ingredients first.
We purchased the Fancy Feast Grain Free Pate Wet Kitten Food for a very senior cat who has sensitive gum and teeth problems. We stirred it up really well into a soft mush, but after a couple of licks, he yelped, holding his head sideways. So we tossed it in a blender with almost a full can of warm water... He was able to eat it without issue... and He Liked it! (yay) We also had a sick cat at the same time, and she ate it too! (yay) Cat people know how frustrating it is to find food a picky eater will eat... so anyway, he was lapping up his dinner like crazy, and as he got to the bottom of his dish, I picked it up to add a little more from the blender, and saw "chunks" falling into his dish! So I started feeling around in the bottom to mash any pieces the blender ... So I started feeling around in the bottom to mash any pieces the blender missed, but it felt like gravel!! I strained it out through a sieve and gathered almost half an 8th tsp of what felt like rock hard gravel! Curious now, I blended several other brands and types, including Fancy Feast Grilled Gravy Wet Cat Food Salmon Feast, (which had hard rubbery chunks even after blending for 3 minutes), and both Friskies Shreds and Pate, (the other cats favorites), Blue Buffalo, and those tiny Crave portions, which I had only been mashing with a spoon for him, ... they all had gravel in the bottom! ... so I can only assume it is from the "meat by-products" probably ground up bone... I will still feed the Fancy Feast Kitten to him, but will be careful to strain it... although, it concerns me that our other 22 cats are ingesting these small rock hard gravel-like pieces in all their food! "That" can not be good for their digestive systems... and some of the pieces were rather large!
