Great blades, these always end up on the top of wet shaving lists for the best razors, and even though there's always a warning that these are super sharp and that they're for more advanced users because they're aggressive, and I agree with that, they really aren't all that unwieldy in my opinion as long as you're careful. First two uses of these are incredibly sharp and give some of the smoothest shaves I've ever had while the third use was a bit more mild but still a quality shave. Use these with a mild razor if you're just getting into them, thankfully both of my razors are somewhat on the milder side, but I've heard that these can be pretty gnarly to use with more aggressive razors. For fun, do three passes with a new one of these and use a mentholated aftershave!

Other reviews have mentioned how sharp these blades are. I have to agree. Yesterday I had shave number five using a ROCKWELL 6S adjustable razor on No5 with this blade and it was as good as shave number one. In fact the first shave was so sharp I actually nicked myself several times which is something I never do with other blades I have tried. I've found that the trick is to let the weight of the razor do the work with this blade together with a good quality shaving soap/cream. Nine more blades to go - lets hope they're all as good as the first.

My top choice for my standard closed comb razor. They are flexible and sharp. Ive tried many brands and will stick with these. They have a great reputation. Now I did try them with my open comb razor and they didnt work as well with it. That type of razor might need a stiffer blade. So I use a different brand with the open comb razor.

Ok, if you're just getting into wet shaving, be forewarned: these are very sharp blades crafted to the epitome of Japanese precision. They are a more aggressive blade, but they also seem to hold their edges quite well.If you're starting off with something like an Edwin Jagger DE86 or DE89 series razor, which are a milder razor, these blades will "kick it up a notch" in aggressiveness and closeness...but...respect the blades, they can cut up your face quite easily if you are not careful.Myself, I like Feather blades and I typically run them in my vintage Gillette razors (they are a mainstay for all my closed comb razors). My current favorite is a Hybrid Tech, which really likes sharp blades, providing a surprisingly aggressive, extremely close shave while feeling akin to the mild shave of my first DE razor (an afore mentioned DE86).Warm up to Feathers, get some practice in, and then load up one of these bad boys...it'll kick your shave into overdrive.
Previously used Astra platinum razors. Found Feathers seem to have far less "tug" when shaving, so less skin irritation and less accidental nicks when shaving. A little pricier than other brands, such as Astra, but to my mind well worth it. For info shaving with a Merkur 34C - very nice safety razor and great for light holiday packing!
Sharp! Reliable constant edge. I throw out a blade after two or three shaves - I could use them for longer but since they are SO much cheaper than cartridge blades I turn them over quickly and always enjoy the sharpest smoothest shave. Packed in waxed paper so easy to handle. Packet comes with a razor disposal slot on the back which is amazingly useful: just slide the old one in the back and take a new one out the front. I am faithful to Feather, I don't use other brands.
I switched from Gillette Mach 3 cartridge blades in January of 2020. I purchased the Merkur 34C and paired it with Proraso Sensitive Skin and Stirling Soap Company's Barbershop. Very smart move.My beard is very coarse and thick. Unfortunately, my skin is sensitive to shaving. However, this blade tackles the shave without a problem. Superior shave and I only need to do two passes on my face. No more skin sensitivity issues and I shave 7 days a week. My preferred tools are the following:- Merkur 34C With Feather Blades (I get two full face and neck shaves out of one blade)- Barbershop From Stirling Soap Company (Great lather, goes on with a yogurt consistency and is super slick)- Proraso Post Shaving Balm (I use the white label for sensitive skin)- I purchased a ... MoreI switched from Gillette Mach 3 cartridge blades in January of 2020. If you have a coarse beard, give Feather blades a try.
I have tried so many blades with so many razors (50+ years of wet shaving with safety and straight razors) and for some reason just didn’t believe this blade could be that much better than all the others I’ve tried. I primarily use a straight razor and not afraid of a sharp edge. I occasionally use a double edge for cleanup or if I’m need a quick shave. I recently was sent a sample of these blades with the purchase of a new DE safety razor so I loaded it up in the new acquisition — and at the first pass I gasped. I promptly ordered a 100 of these Feathers and took all the other blades out of my large collection of vintage and modern DE razors. This blade is by far the best I’ve ever used. I have to figure out what to do with all the surplus blades from other brands ... MoreI have tried so many blades with so many razors (50+ years of wet shaving with safety and straight razors) and for some reason just didn’t believe this blade could be that much better than all the others I’ve tried. Feather blades really are noticeably sharper then any other blade I've tried. Dorco comes in a distant second for me. Feathers also hold their edge well, I find I can get three very good shaves from each blade. Whenever I run out and have to use another brand I that I have lying around, the difference is immediately noticeable, and my disappointment is immense. I've been using Feathers for close to ten years now. I'm not precious about my shave, I keep it simple and just want it close and comfortable. These blades are the only thing I'm particular about, they really do make that much of a difference.
This is by far my favorite blade I’ve tested! I’ve been searching for the right blade for quite some time and I even used an empirical approach of testing my blades through a series of trials with different manufacturers and this has always been on the top of list. My personal notes on this blade as a man with sensitive skin are as noted:-Sharp-No razor burn (even when shaving off a week of beard growth)-3 passes to complete (my preferred usual)-Felt Smooth and effortlessMy only gripe with feather is the price. Though, I believe the money is worth it when you get the quality you do when using this blade.I highly recommend trying this, especially if you have sensitive skin ad I do. It might be what you’re looking for.
