Absolutely loving my grinder so far. It looks so beautiful, isn’t too loud, and automatically stops after grinder which I think is an awesome feature. The best part is the I can slightly adjust my grind each morning based on what I thought of the cup the previous day. Currently using with a 2-cup pour over for my wife and I (she adds honey but we don’t need to talk about that!)The team at alternative brewing also provided fantastic service. I had to change the delivery name last minute and they responded very quickly and it wasn’t an issue. Definitely my go-to shop for updating my home café. Thanks team!

Purchased the Ode Gen 2 Grinder and I’m really enjoying the cups it is helping to produce. I have been using the Comandante MK3 for a few years which I also love, but the Ode has just helped to bring out some more sweetness, body and clarity that I wasn’t quite getting out of my MK3 (not that I’m blaming my tools).The Ode delivers a consistent grind, very little retention, and a great flavour for a great price.I would give this a 5, but the Fellow dosing cup slightly annoys me.

I purchased this grinder based on other reviews and its good looks. Im certianly not disapointed even though the two main comments, static and mininium grind size are both present. The static is easy to deal with, you just need to wait a couple of minutes to dissipate the static before flicking the hammer lever a few times. The mininium grind is not a issue for me but I would like to know I could go a bit finer if I wanted. This grinder is quite, no longer do I feel the need to put on ear muffs or wake my wife in the morning. Something I didnt read is that it hums while turned on and i feel the need to switch it off at the power point. Did I mention how good it looks...
Jumped on the bandwagon to get a grinder that looked aesthetically pleasing and built with ease of use and quality.The grinder works great for my needs which are mainly cold brew, pour overs and aeropress (No espresso or very fine grinds). Everything works well so far, grinds quick, relatively quiet, and consistent so far in the last 2 weeks.The biggest issue I find is the static that builds up. The grinder causes a fair bit of mess due to static build up and the knocker isn't particularly useful. There is a bit of cleaning up to do after each grind. If you are willing to put up with that, it works just fine.Alternatively, you can use the JH method of stirring in a few drops of water into your beans before grinding. That works!
You can not fault the Fellow Ode Brew Grinder on its looks, that’s for sure. In matte Black the grinder is a thing of beauty. You can fault the grinder slightly however on functionality - with the main two points being beans occasionally getting stuck in the grind chamber, and the lack of useable adjustability with grind settings. The latter can be fixed with replacement burrs, but you really shouldn’t have to.
Found the grinder simple and efficient to use. Found it very tidy as well literally no mess at all. Quickly dialled in for V60. I purchased it to make the comparison with the conical burrs on my niche. I am afraid I am going to go against the consensus on this and say that I prefer the niche. No criticism of the Ode just my taste.

The first Ode I received was faulty, they sent a new one out straight away and the problem was solved quickly and with great communication. Really great customer service.Now to the grinder. Having the first one fail out of the box definitely taints my opinion. I have multiple pieces from Fellow and really wasn't going to go for this as we have an EK on the bench, however a road trip and extended time away from home meant I needed something I could take with that wasn't a hand grinder, for the Moccamaster.The grinder looks beautiful. There's no doubt about it, it is a stunning bench top piece. And it grinds well, quiet, consistent and easy to use. The retention is pretty average, I find no matter how many times I flick the grinds dispenser there are always coffee grinds falling out after I remove the cup. All in all, it's a very good looking and functional grinder. Is it worth the heart price tag? Maybe, it depends on what you're looking for. If you like beautiful things that do their job well, then you'll be happy. If you just want consistent grinding, probably better with a Baratza.
Sleek, stylish, compact, consistent and powerful. I got this to reduce the mess of grinding chaff that occurred with my side port grinder and it absolutely achieves this, well almost, 99%. However, a simple ‘no big deal’ additional step still means this is still easily achievable - after knocking and removing the magnetic cup, replace the lidless cup back in position and knock another couple of times and voila, all grinds securely in place. 100% less mess than before. I highly recommend the Fellow Ode as part of your coffee experience.
