This carafe is perfect! I thought it would be too small but it was much larger than expected. Mt daily V60 is 500g of water in, and this leaves lots of room for swirling. I can comfortable brew 700g into the carafe. The design also makes it so that gripping the carafe is both comfortable and secure. I thought that the lack of handle would be a concern but it is not. It is very durable but not too heavy. I do find that with the lid on sometimes pouring can cause splashing, but without the lid it is perfect and this is usually only when I have a large amount of liquid. It keeps the coffee very warm, especially with the lid, for a significant amount of time (I'd say a couple hours at serving temp or above). All in all much more than I was expecting and the price ended ... MoreThis carafe is perfect! I thought it would be too small but it was much larger than expected. I purchased this carafe to replace the carafe I accidentally dropped on my granite countertop. This new carafe actually cracked in the bottom when hot water was added. 205 degrees. My new $50 carafe is in the garbage. The cracked hole in the bottom was inside only. About 1-1/2 inch hole. When it cracked thenoise was very loud. This carafe is not something I would ever order again.

I have been on a mission to find the perfect carafe/thermos for the perfect coffee that I make in a 6 Cup Chemex. While the Chemex is beautiful, it does not keep the coffee hot so invariably the second cup is tepid. I have tried a variety of thermoses and carafes all of which have had flaws: either liquid somehow gets between the shell and the vacuum or the glass vacuum smells like burnt coffee after a week even though I wash it with soap and water. This elegant Stagg carafe seemed perfect: double walled to retain heat but sturdy enough for the dishwasher. And it works...sort of. The carafe retains some heat but not much so even 15/20 minutes after brewing, the coffee has cooled considerably. If I could have given a 4.5 star I would have, because the only thing -- if I'm being picky -- that would make it 5-star is a clean-pouring precision spout like my Kinto Sepia Carafe ... and like this carafe's sister the Fellow Mighty Carafe, it seems! No big deal, so there's a little drip that stays behind at each pour. It's not advertised to be no-drip either, as the Mighty is, so no fault there, just something to know. It's not like it spills an ugly mess or anything, not at all!I totally get that it's because of the double insulation, which thickens the spout, although if they could have thinned it out, like they did with the lip of the stagg insulated cups, then it would be a 6 star, for sure!Looks great and original with its tall slims looks, different than ... Enjoy! :)
I have been a classic Hario carafe guy for years, but their glass is pretty thin, not particularly insulated, and prone to breaking... (or I am just a klutz). This has so far been a nice step up from my previous carafes. The heat retention is great, the glass feels heavy, the lid is functional, and because it has no plastic collaring, it is easy to clean. The pictures don't really show this, but it is fairly stout, it doesn't feel too tall on my scale or on my table. The stoutness does make the neck fairly large to grab.
This is a great carafe. It’s much bigger than I expected but mostly because of the double glass. The volume is what I expected. I use it daily with my V60 Switch and it was like they were made for each other.A couple minor observations. 1. It doesn’t retain heat as much I thought, so I started preheating it with more hot water while rinsing my paper filter. I don’t like piping hot coffee, so the after brew temperature is perfect now. 2. By the time I pour coffee into my carter mug, the temperature is a little under what I prefer, so I need to preheat the carter too. Not a huge deal since I have the EKG with hot water just inches away. 3. The “inner” flask is a little uneven and the Fellow logo is not centered when the spout faces left. I bought a stagg double wall carafe about a year ago, but it broke a couple months ago. I just recently purchased a new one, and the design was somehow improved??? Once again, Fellow delivers above and beyond and exceeds expectations. The pour spout is perfect: no dripping after a pour. I’m very pleased that I replaced my broken one instead of going with a different, less attractive, less effective carafe from another company. Great work Fellow!
Feels fragile and thin and i have doubts about it being proper borosilicate glass. But it looks nice and hasnt broken yet? The vaccuum seal being insulating and holding in heat is a straight up lie. Outside gets hot (especially close to the lip no surprise) when full of hot coffee. Please just stick to a warmed up ceramic mug. The glasses dont even sit flat on a table without wobbling so fellow can work on their qc here.At least Alternative brewing has this for an palatable price unlike amazon which is asking for around $100 aud at the time of review. Also, Alternative brewing straight up forgot about my order for a whole week. They only shipped the product after i asked via email. To their credit, they refunded the shipping and it was packaged well. Slight ... This carafe is quite nice, both functionally and aesthetically.Beginning with the latter, the carafe and matching glasses (which I have) are reminiscent of something out of my high school chemistry class. Opinions will vary on the minimalist industrial look, but I quite like it.Turning to function, the carafe functions reasonably well in terms of heat retention. What I’m not crazy about is the fact that the spout drips after every pour. This ought to have been a pretty straightforward design objective. No bueno. Also, no fault of Fellow, but the plastic Clever sits precariously atop the decanter. It doesn’t fit well, so I need to hold the Clever throughout the brew process.Would I buy again? You bet. This decanter, together with the matching glasses, is a ... Got this to replace my hario carafe after it finally broke. This is well built, gives me the flexibility to make 2 cups when needed and retain heat really well. It also looks great and fits my hario v60 perfectly.Only slight 'downside' would be that it's a bit hard to clean the inside bottom area and it's a little awkward to grip with one hand to pour. My hands are just big enough to grip it, but it doesn't feel very secure (esp when it's full) and i could see that being a bigger issue if you have small hands. I can see this slipping out of your hand and breaking/spilling if you're not careful.
