I LOVE my Fellow Stagg electric kettle. I keep it out on my counter so it’s easy to access in the morning for a pour over or French press before starting my day. The water heats up fast and even gives you the real-time temperature of the water as it’s getting hotter. Being able to set the exact temperature has been a game changer. Prior to using this kettle, I used to boil water on the stove in an ordinary kettle without knowing the exact temperature. Being able to change the temperature based on my brewing needs has absolutely changed my morning coffee and tea game. I don’t think I’ll be able to go back to boiling water on the stove anymore!

I only recently found out about Fellow products, a couple of months ago. I first purchased from a 3rd party retailer, not realizing the Stagg came in different colors! So I had to return so I could buy this one, it's so beautiful in my kitchen.Aesthetics aside, the design of the pour is perfect, something that you don't often see in gooseneck designs. Inevitably there's always water left at the bottom below the pour line, but I don't have that issue with this one, idk how but it empties really well. Super fast boiling, by the time I've ground my beans and put them in my pour over filter it's done. Silent, and the stay mode is really nice. The little secret built-in game is an absolute delight, I actually have played it a couple of times. Nice touch.Overall, I ... Brings me visual happiness, it's lightweight and efficient, and generally takes the chore out of making coffee by hand when the boil doesn't take any time at all. Buy it!

LOVE our new kettle! Not only does it look super stylish while doing all the things mentioned in the write up, but here are a few other points. The metal (?) piece between the top of the handle and kettle does not get hot. I read an older review where someone mentioned this as a problem. (Perhaps older model?) Definitely not a problem with mine. Also, I can let it heat up under a cabinet without steam hurting the cabinet wood (194 degrees). If I were to heat up to boiling (211ish), I’d make sure to pull it out as the steam would rise to the cabinet then.I love that the kettle holds your selected temperature for the time specified- even after picking it up off the base. My last kettle (different brand) didn’t, so I had to keep resetting the hold. However, if you ... MoreLOVE our new kettle! My last kettle (different brand) didn’t, so I had to keep resetting the hold. However, if you don’t have much/any water left after a pour, probably want to turn it off - also easy with a quick single button press.Aside from the nice functions, it’s also just pleasurable to look at displayed on the counter. The design is slick. For all these reasons, I don’t regret spending the extra money - even if it is just to heat water.
I recently purchased this kettle after a LOT of research on electric kettles. Not only was I looking for a kettle that was aesthetically pleasing, but also one that wasn't plastic, will have longevity and offer the functionalities I was looking for; namely, different temperature settings and safety features. My last "good" electric kettle died just over one year after purchase, (and 3 days post warranty!) Needless to say, I was choked and swore I wouldn't waste my money again on an electric kettle. I began using my tried and true cast iron kettle on the stove. A tiny kettle that takes about 10 minutes to boil water! A tiny kettle that takes about 10 minutes to boil water! I was getting a little tired of having to wait so long to make my coffee in the morning, not to mention when guests are over and I want to brew more than a single serving, that I finally bit the bullet and thought I'd give it another go.I settled on this kettle #1 because I love the look of it. Sorry but if it's something I use every day and I'm going to look at all day, then I want it to look good. (And there are not many of them that do.)Secondly, it has different temperature setting modes for teas and coffee brews which I never used to care about but I now appreciate.Thirdly, it comes with a three year guarantee, which was the only one I found to do so. If the product offers this kind of guarantee than I have faith it is good quality and will hopefully be the last kettle I will need to buy.I will report back in three years (and three days) should my opinion about that change. :)In the meantime, I am highly enjoying using this kettle, and just looking at it makes me smile. :)
The Kettle heating water part of this is excellent. It heats very quickly and pours very nicely, we use it multiple times a day! However, for the price there is much to dislike about this product and make me question why this brand is so recommended. The rubber seal on the lid comes off all the time just from taking the lid on and off. The "tech" features are awful. First you have to turn the kettle on to start heating before you can access the menu. The documentation does not go into detail about what the different functions do exactly. The Chime setting goes from 1 to 10 but really is just from off to quiet. It does not give a confirmation notification to let you know what the chime setting is, you have to turn it on and heat water to hear it. And the Chime is ... It does not give a confirmation notification to let you know what the chime setting is, you have to turn it on and heat water to hear it. And the Chime is just too quiet, I can barely hear it over the boiling water. I love you can set a time to hold the temp but hate that while keeping the kettle off the base for a few minutes when you put it back it starts heating again unless you manually turn it off. I would expect it to time out after 30 - 60 seconds of the kettle being removed from the base. Then you get into the app and the experience gets really bad. It took me a good hour of playing with this thing, unplugging the kettle, resetting my phone, toggling this and that until the app could see the kettle and connect to my wifi. After going through all that I realized there is no point. I can't schedule or toggle the kettle from the app, its only to update the firmware, which at this point does nothing. Its a total waste and makes no sense to require wifi for this. This is my first purchase from Fellow and given my experience and impression will probably be the last. The experience does not live up to the price
For the premium price it should have more features and higher build quality. The tip of the spout is literally razor sharp raw-cut metal; I'm surprised this wasn't rounded off. I was disappointed to see how poor it is at maintaining the correct time; I have to reset the time every week to keep it anywhere near correct. The highest volume setting for the ready chime is too low to be heard more than a few feet away and then only in a silent room. Finally the feature allowing you to set a time for your water to be hot and ready for you is inadequately described; there's no explanation regarding whether there's a safety so that the kettle won't melt down and start a fire if it is accidentally left empty when the timer is set. The Stagg EKG Pro kettle works really well for its intended use as a temperature controlled pour over kettle. It is expensive though, and not "necessary" for pour over, as there are other less expensive temperature controlled pour over/gooseneck kettles on the market. That said, it is aesthetically pleasing and you are definitely paying for that. On the aesthetics, one thing that oddly struck me was the inside of the kettle - when you first open the lid, the internal base is a mirrored stainless steel and you can perfectly see your reflection (it is oddly beautiful, even though no one else will see that). The slow and controlled pour from the spout is great for pour overs and allows you to really control where and how much water you pour. The only "caution" would be, if you intend to use this kettle for other generic kettle features (i.e. boiling water for non-pour over uses), the slow pour is annoyingly slow. Again, great for its intended use as a pour over kettle, but I wouldn't want it to be my only kettle. The Fellow app that works with the kettle is a little disappointing. I'm still not sure what the purpose of the app is - it will allow for future updates for the kettle, and connects the kettle to wifi, but doesn't do anything else. It would be nice if the app could also control the kettle, like turning it on, setting the temperature, etc. Though I don't think a kettle needs to have wifi and wireless control features, since there is an app and it is wifi enabled, it is odd that they don't have these features built in. Perhaps in a future update...I'd say that this kettle is a piece to add to a brew bar for aesthetic purposes. If you've already invested considerably in all of your other brew gear, this is a nice add on, though an expensive one. It might also be worth considering purchasing the original Stag EKG (not pro) to save some money if you don't need the additional features of altitude setting, schedule, etc. that come with the pro model - although I'm not sure what future updates/features may come in the future with wifi updates (what can you really "update" on a kettle?).My last comment, and this is more about the electrical wiring in my house than the kettle, is that it causes my lights to flicker as it comes up to temperature. It seems that some of my lights are on the same circuit as the outlet to which my kettle is plugged in, and as the kettle regulates its temperature to stay at a precise temperature, my lights start to flicker. Apparently this may be common if you have your wiring on the same circuit - it is not an issue with the kettle.
I bought the Pro Studio black/walnut version. Holy smokes is it incredible. It is one of those products that hurts a little at the point of purchase, but the pain is almost immediately forgotten the first time it is used.Let’s get this out of the way - the pour/flow rate is sloooooow. Whatever. It’s a good match for my Varia VS3, which is also on the slow side. I have learned with both to enjoy the process, instead of turning it into a rat race each morning. And as mentioned in other reviews here, the control over the flow is nothing short of impeccable.I look forward to using that kettle every single morning (that I don’t go down the espresso road with my Dual Boiler). The Pro Studio is as elegant as it is beautiful.I was a little concerned because I had seen a negative review online. So glad I blew it off and took the plunge. The features are set out in the description. I use and enjoy them all. The altitude adjustment is especially useful. I never knew why on all my prior temperature controlled kettles, they kept boiling for a long time, instead of shutting off and holding the temperature upon reaching a boil. The guide mode is also very useful. I also very much enjoy that feature as well.If you want to cut to the end game without wasting a bunch of money on lesser kettles along the way, throw down on this one. You won’t regret it. Who knew that boiling and pouring water could be such a fun, elegant thing each morning. This could very well be your last kettle (I hope mine lasts forever).
These kettles are the gold standard for many reasons: excellent build quality, high end materials and engineering (the gaskets on the lids work amazing), great function (amazing balance for precision pours), etc.The base and setting up the kettle for scheduling is easy and occasionally useful as well. And this is minor but it is worth pointing out I do have undeniable grip with the Fellow Updater app for the Studio Pro… the reviews on the App Store are abysmal and, to be clear, for good reason. The main issue is there seems to be no way to force update the firmware when it says you are on an old version. It says it will update soon but after 3 weeks that update is still coming soon.
