A beautiful guitar with a wonderful tone, it was sent with a relatively good action. There were some finish issues in the one I ordered that I will have to correct so I can't give it a perfect review, but this is a really good guitar for the price. Had I payed full price (I got it on sale for 100) I would have been very upset with the finish flaws and probably sent it back for a replacement. That being said, it sounds and plays beautifully.

Great deal! Arrived undamaged, tuned it with the free Fender android phone app, sounds lusciously clean & accurate. For the price I don't think you can find a starter guitar that sounds this good with a real wood top. Strumming I encountered no buzz and the neck feel is outstanding with no sharp edges. If you are looking for a guitar for a child well this is a full sized acoustic so if they are younger than 10 you might want to find something smaller. The only complaint I have is the clear plastic, taped cover placed on the opening leaves a glue residue, at least the free online lessons decal is on the pick guard and can be safely removed, not sure if I can use glue-be-gone on the wood finish to remove the glue. Overall:While this has a decent tone, it's not going to improve with age as the top is a laminated top--not solid spruce.Moreover, since this is a guitar targeting the beginning student, I mark it down because the setup is NOT conducive to the beginner. The action needs to be lowered and the Fender branded DuraTone strings it came from the factory with feel more like a medium gauge than a light gauge. I have a 12-string Yamaha that is easier to play than this.But to give it some props--the price includes a hardshell case--something no other guitar in this price range offers. And the abalone rosette is a nice cosmetic touch.The tuning machines turn smoothly and it does hold a tune very well.And for those who object to Chinese-made guitars, this was made in Indonesia.

I'm in my 30s purchased this guitar to learn to play, I wanted an affordable but well-crafted and reliable guitar. Even people who have never held a guitar know that Fender knows how to make a good guitar. I knew the price for a Fender with a hardshell case included is amazing and couldn't be passed up. I got this at my local GC store and the customer service was amazing. The case isn't the best quality but it does the job it's supposed to, it's good to keep it safe in car rides if you're taking it to lessons or to jam with friends but I wouldn't check a guitar onto an airplane in this case. But this isn't about the case, which can be easily and I may be a novice guitar player, but I love this guitar!

The tone difference between CD60S spruce top and this one is small as the spruce top also has mahogany back and sides. This guitar however is one with great overtones. Being a novice, it is a great starting guitar. My only complaint is that the nut and saddle are plastic. This is the first guitar I have owned and I had previously heard that Fender was a very well-built quality guitar. When first receiving the guitar I was very impressed with the quality, both physical and sound. I’m a beginner and this has been perfect to getting involved within the guitar industry. When I recived this guitar I was stunned! I love the dark look of this guitar! The sound is just as good! Usually you need some kind of setup or trust rood adjusment especially since I?m in Arizona. Dispite the climate difference all the insturment needed was tuning. The guitar played like butter in my hands! Over all very satisfied!
Low expectations considering this is a very low end Fender and for the price even came with a hardshell case. Was pleasantly surprised. Fit and finish is excellent. Very easy to play, it feel great. Sounds surprisingly good. With a good strongly strummed chord, it projects well, no buzzing at all. Played softly it still sounds good. Neck is as straight as it should be, feels smooth and uniform along the fret board edges, no sharp frets. And all the wood looks really nice. Looks like a standard issue Fender case too, decent enough quality. Really hard to find fault with it.

Mike Friedman helped me out in that he let me try a "Yamaha" (I think) model which sounded great, but as I said, I always wanted Fender. He helped me as best he could, and although I couldn't get the exact model I wanted, a mahogany finish which Fender doesn't make in left handed models, he recommended, and I ordered the CD-60S LH.Right after ordering it, the Covid-19 struck and the shipment got delayed. Aesthetically, really really nice and didn't need much setting up. The case that came with it didn't have the Fender logo across the front but a little Fender plate by the handle. Not a big deal but it did differ from the picture. Made in Indonesia if anyone is wondering. My only criticism is that it would have been nice to get a spare string peg or something but it's a minor quibble for a name brand at this price point.
