This amplifier was purchased because I needed a dependable practice amp. When it arrived I was surprised how small it was, but it looked great and was definitely a Fender. It has all the Fender look, lines and characteristics. So I hooked it up to my old Silvertone and that's when I got a real surprise! This compact amp puts out volume that is hard to believe! For a Solid State modern amp the sound and tone is quite dynamic. The compactness is especially great when you have limited space to play. It is tough, sturdy and has guts. Definitely an essential part of my practice and it's easy to transport anywhere.

The Frontman is well-made, and is a powerful small amplifier, perfect for the beginner, but more, it's ideal for the acoustic electric for small practice areas .... but, is even capable of handling public gigs in smaller venues. It is a great value at this price comparable to retail store.

Fairly Good Beginner's Amplifier. The Clean Channel Has A Decent Equalization Section. Typical Solid State Sound, Not Very Warm But Is Crisp And Good For Electric And Acoustic/Electric Guitars . The Gain And Over Drive Channel Is Just Plain Horrible! I Tried A Jenson P10 Speaker And The Sound Was Improved Greatly! Rated At 15watts But Being VERY LOUD! Using A Leader 100mg Oscilloscope & 2K Test Tone, I Achieved 36Watts Output. Scratching My Head I Opened It Up. Indeed, I Found A TDA2050 Amplifier Installed, I Believe Switching Out The Low End Speaker For Maybe A Celestin 25 Or Jenson Mod 8 The Amplifier Just Might Have Some Promise. In Closing, Out Of The Box, You Actually Can't Beat This Little Amplifier, At This Price Mark. For Practice, It Is An Excellent Choice, For Gigging, Leave It Home.

Overall:Have a randall rg200 went to use it last week Turned on overdrive .Popped the fuse.replaced fuse. After about 3 hours popped another fuse.Wife was in living room and said she saw a blue flash. Tripped the circuit breaker and shut down 2 refrigerators and a freezer and blew a few light bulbs Needed something until I can have it repaired so I bought the Fender 20 amp. ordered it Sunday and it arrived Tues. So far it has been great. Nice tone, simple operation. Very loud and overdrive is even louder.Quite powerful for a small box. I am very satisfied with it.have several guitars but my Yamaha box guitar sounds really nice plugged into it Not as good as my Randell 200 but wouldnt expect it too for the price ,I would highly recommend it and the way zZounds ... MoreOverall:Have a randall rg200 went to use it last week Turned on overdrive .Popped the fuse.replaced fuse. Only concern I have is I didnt receive my 2 year warranty in the box. would definately recommend this amp.
This amp is perfekt for practicing and small room gigs, I had a fender frontman 212 a few years ago but I sold it when I stopped giging. The sound is clear and easy to control. Agood buy.
I bought one of these and replace the speaker with a Celestion 8 inch 15 watt speaker and it made it into an amazing apm!! You would be amazed at how awesome this thing can sound
This little amp has great power and sound . Combined with my Gibson Songwriter, I get alot practice. Surely in a small venue, it will get the job done
Great small amp for practice with electric guitar and great for use with acoustic/electric guitar. That's what I bought it for to start with. Great tone and bass. Compact and light weight too. Love it !
I have the 15G and my only complaint is that I didn't get it with reverb. But I have a good reverb pedal to compensate for that. I have a lot of amps of different wattages, but late at night I can play this with the headphones, or if my wife is watching tv in another room I can play through the speaker without disturbing her. It is a great practice amp, which means it's not really meant to be very loud, if you want a louder version try a 25R. The tones and reverb sound Fender is famous for come through this little beauty. The clean channel is classic sounding and the dirty channel has plenty of drive for the size. No reason to complain about the sound from me,
Very small and compact pedal. My main reason for buying the amp was so that I can create tones on my Boss ME-25 pedal. The amp took the pedal well, granted that I was using the amplifier with the headphones on. The amp can go to either a clean or over driven setting, which is good if you have a pedal and don't want amp presets to interfere with your sound. It fits just about anywhere and won't disappoint if you're seeking a small practice amp.
