Fender Player II Stratocaster HSS Guitar | Transparent Mocha Burst

Like the brilliance sound and has a good set up.

Came with Issues, but I Love this Guitar!

Full disclosure: I bought this chambered mahogany guitar to turn it into an HH Super Strat. And let me tell you, mission accomplished! Once I got it home I took off the pickguard and dropped in a new one that I loaded with DiMarzio humbuckers. Paired with the mahogany body the sound is very much like a Les Paul Standard. But only 6.4 pounds! I love it!Some other pros:Did I mention that it's light? The color looks so much better in person. Its really a beautiful color. And the wood grain shows through nicely. The neck feels amazing on this guitar. I have a Pro ii Strat and this Player 2 plays better (and I do my own set-ups). The Pro ii neck feels more expensive, but the Player 2 neck plays better. It sustains incredibly well (chambered body).Cons:When I ... MoreFull disclosure: I bought this chambered mahogany guitar to turn it into an HH Super Strat. I strung it up with an extra string, stretched it, and it broke again! I'm pretty sure it was the saddle, but I replaced them aling with the nut (Graphtech parts) and no more string breaks. So that was a bummer for a brand new guitar, but I had planned to swap those out anyway.Another issue I found is because the body is chambered, several of the pickguard screws don't tighten (because it's chambered the body wood doesn't run deep enough for the screws to grab onto something in certain parts of the body. The screws just spin in the hollowed out section.Regardless, I wanted a light chambered mahogany HH Super Strat and couldn't be happier!!

excellent guitar finish is flawless

Great guitar!

We’ll set up, I’m very pleased that I went for the HSS and love the colour. Not the most technical review, but I am glad I stuck to my budget and got this version of the Fender range, it plays really nicely and has all the ‘voices’ I need for my song writing.

I Got Mine!!

Overall:This is a Strat with hss pickups. I chose Aquatone blue. Very nice. It is a Player 2 model. I have a Player 1 as well. The rolled fretboard edges become more noticeable as time goes by. A little Les Paul tone growls from the bridge humbucker. My biggest concern is string changing as they use classic style tuners. I am afraid the 1st and 2nd strings might pop out of the cylindrical slot, making string changes difficult. You've heard of 'back to the future'? Fender went ahead to the past. This is a great guitar and at the time Fender had a 10% discount that screamed my name. I am glad I bought it.

It's Jordan again with a comment about Sweetwater's little extra case candy!

my mother loved Bit-O-Honey I guess it is the small things that bring back the biggest memories . . . For each and everyone of us that lost those that we loved, may we have sweet memories. To all the spirits that had a human existence that now have returned to having a spiritual existence, keep rising higher & higher ~ ~ ~

Review of Fender Player II Stratocaster HSS Rosewood Fingerboard Birch Green

First time I have purchased from Anderton's and very impressed with the online order service. Next day delivery achieved. Good communication by email and helpful when contacted by telephone over a minor query. I have always wanted a Fender Strat and am now the proud owner of this beautiful specimen. Just getting used to it.

Sound:i think it sounds great and look forward to making music with itFeatures:it has a really cool single coil feature which i think sounds amazing but this guitar really needed to have locking tuners with it. with the regular tuners it comes with you are going to have highly unstable tuning due to the tremolo system i had to spend extra money to buy the tuners which i will install my self i also think it would have been nice to install buttons that work with strap lock systems i also had to buy those as well i do however under stand that i paid 1600.$ for this which i thought was a good value the case this comes with is amazing has its own lock and everything but it smells god awful has some kind of chemical smell that rubbed of on my guitar and now when i ... MoreSound:i think it sounds great and look forward to making music with itFeatures:it has a really cool single coil feature which i think sounds amazing but this guitar really needed to have locking tuners with it. with the regular tuners it comes with you are going to have highly unstable tuning due to the tremolo system i had to spend extra money to buy the tuners which i will install my self i also think it would have been nice to install buttons that work with strap lock systems i also had to buy those as well i do however under stand that i paid 1600.$ for this which i thought was a good value the case this comes with is amazing has its own lock and everything but it smells god awful has some kind of chemical smell that rubbed of on my guitar and now when i play i am smelling a spray paint type smell its horrible i am going to have to find some kind of scent to cover it up i will be scenting the case in hopes it gently rubs' off on the guitar and makes for a more pleasant smellEase of Use:this works great with my Marshall code 50 along with my wireless cable systemQuality:this is a solid product i think will last a lifetime its well built comfortable to hold it does not weigh to much and sounds greatValue:i think this is worth the price for most part however to be honest if i knew it would smell so bad i might have thought twice and just got another Gibson but i really wanted to try a fender out and i already have a gibson if i could solve the smell it would make it all the betterManufacturer Support:i have not dealt directly with fender but i may contact them due to the chemical smellThe Wow Factor:what is appealing is the great fender sound what is horrible is the smell of the case and the guitarOverall:first this guitar looks awesome i really like this guitarhowever it took a bit of time to setupnumber one when i received the guitar the springs were super loose making it impossible to tune this is my first ever fender guitar i have had other guitars that simular bridge setups for whammy i had to adjust the springs slowly until i got a stable tune i had to do this for my js100 Ibanez as well that one has a floating trem im not sure what to call the one my fender has but it is similar any ways once i got a stable tune i was finally able to intonate the guitar and of course i checked the neck relief which was fine no adjustment was needed for that also adjusted string height i realized doing this throws of intonation so i had to re intonate the guitar any ways when i finally got it setup it sounded awesome and i think this will be more stable tuning wise than my js100 especially when install the locking tuners the feel will take some getting used to it has a slightly thicker neck than my les Paul but is still comfortable i love the twang i get out of it when i play sweet home Alabama and hey joe. one negative thing that really bugs me though is the case and guitar stink to high hell of a spray paint type smell i mean it is stinking up my room fender should take a leaf from Gibson and scent there cases my Gibson had chocolate scent which rubbed off on the guitar and was heaven to smell compared to the fender toxic chemical smell the other thing is there was not much case candy they could have supplied a strap and maybe an inspection sheet and a manufacturer pic like Gibson does other than the toxic stink and lack of case candy the guitar plays fine sounds awesome but took some time to setup
