Very durable material combined with excellent machining makes this pen not only functional but very attractive. The connecting joints are so precise I had difficulty in finding where the joint for replacing the ink cartridge was located. I actually emailed the Fenix Store for assistance in this regard but unfortunately received no response. The pocket clip is deep and allows the pen to be almost completely concealed while in the pocket. The clip is very sturdy and will accommodate being fitted over the top seam of a blue jean pocket with no difficulty.Extension and retraction of the pen tip is accomplished with an easy ~120 degree twist. A positive detent is felt when the tip is extended and holds the tip in position without any slippage. The required CE certification marking on the pen is quite large and could be reduced to improve overall attractiveness. The ink cartridge is necessarily small (2 9/16” in length) in order to accommodate the electrical components in the pen. If the cartridge is not used on a frequent basis it takes several circular stokes to get the ink flow started. In anticipation of a very short life on this cartridge I have already order a packet of refills .Overall this is a very nice product that turns two of my EDC items into a very compact single device.

Have you ever been in a dark restaurant and the bill comes and you can't read it? Well, I pulled this out at my last dark dinner, clicked the flashlight on and signed my name. Tablemates were very impressed. The build is great, sturdy but not too heavy, the pen uses the same replacement cartridge that I use in some of my finer pens. I'm hoping to never have to use the tactical end to break out of my car, but at least I can. Really like this pen/tool.

Things that I really like:- Three brightness levels- Always starts on low when turned on- Battery level indicator and USB recharging- A pen that actually writes nicely- Glass breaker- Strong body- Has a pocket clipImprovements:- When I clip the light inside of my shirt's pen pocket the light is pointed towards my body and can't be used as a light facing away from me while clipped into my shirt pocket.- The switch to turn the light on and off isn't recessed and it sticks out and is very easy to push. The light can easily be turned on or the brightness level changed unintentionally. Perhaps a recessed switchIt's a great light and I like it a lot. It's been in my pocket since I bought it. These are just a couple of suggestions for improving the next version.

The four stars is for the pen light itself. As many have stated there is play between the pen section and the main body. The clip is a hair too stiff IMO and the blue could have been blended better but overall is what I wanted in a tacticool penlight. This isn't my first Fenix light and expected a little more in build quality. The service gets 5 stars. My original order got accepted at Broken Arrow OK on 1/03/23 and as of now it's still showing there. I contacted Fenix about it on 1/14/23 and was sent a new order the next business day. The customer service agent was very knowledgeable, helpful and was very much appreciated.
I'm a truck driver and always carry a pen and light. I have been carrying a cheap pen/light combo. It was starting to show a pot of wear, and I was getting tired of swapping tiny watch batteries. The T6 is a big step up in quality of pen and light. If you carry a pen and often require a light, this is basically your best option for the price. I haven't used OLight's pen/light, but I can't imagine paying 2x as much when the T6 is this good.
I was pleasantly surprised that this open box pen had no cosmetic damage at all. And the box (clam shell) had been opened very carefully to extract only the pen.It opened and closed smoothly with some needed position holding friction. The Schmidt refill writes very smoothly with a pleasing medium black ink. The body has a nice amount of grip for writing and more grip in the reverse position for breaking glass or discouraging unwanted close up attention. The ceramic ball at the upper tip seems seems quite strong though I'm still looking for a car window to break. Maybe a trip to an auto salvage yard would provide it.Refills are available on Amazon with a link from Fenix. It does wiggle at the uppermost threaded joint but after using the pen it's not a problem. Also the pocket clip is a little too tight for clothing life but I'm sure it could be loosened a bit.The 3 mode LED light has quite useful settings: 1 lumen for low light reading, 20 lumen medium, and usefully bright 80 lumen high. I couldn't look at the LED on 1 lumen witch dims in a short distance (book page). As covered in the app info the body separates into the pen which can still be used while charging the built in battery via USB C (yea) connection. I'm definitely glad I bought it and I recommend it as a budget opportunity to get a full featured Tactical Pen.
The Fenix T6 is an overall fine penlight and good value. It's the length of a regular sized writing pen, so it fits nicely in jacket pocket, unlike other tactical pens which are too long to carry in small pockets. Nice 70 lumens output, just right for lighting up immediate area (pathway & front door). But would be much better if it was twice the brightness. Nice ink pen, but wish it came with extra refills. The ink cartridge is the medium size type, so it should write for a long time. The etched rotating barrel to extend the pen is great to prevent ink stains and holes in pocket. Refills are easily found online. The T6's weight and feel is comfortable. I have not tried the glass breaker, but it should work when needed. Random thoughts:• The pen is a typical Fenix beautiful piece of craftsmanship.• The pen writes cleanly.• I didn’t expect 80 lumens to be so bright (at least to light my closet).• If you clip it on the outside of your shirt, it lights the way for you.• I like the menu system is the same as with all Fenix lights (control brightness, lockout, read battery voltage, charging status).• The pen cartridge is labeled “SCHMIDT-MINE 635 M”. That’s supposed to mean 6.35cm. It is actually 70mm from tip to tip. There is a 62mm spring placed over the cartridge to make the pen smooth in opening and closing.• The pen comes with 3 spare O-rings.• I like how the halves can separate so you can shine and write in the same place. Or you can keep writing while the flashlight half ... MoreRandom thoughts:• The pen is a typical Fenix beautiful piece of craftsmanship.• The pen writes cleanly.• I didn’t expect 80 lumens to be so bright (at least to light my closet).• If you clip it on the outside of your shirt, it lights the way for you.• I like the menu system is the same as with all Fenix lights (control brightness, lockout, read battery voltage, charging status).• The pen cartridge is labeled “SCHMIDT-MINE 635 M”. Or you can keep writing while the flashlight half is charging.• The clip is the strongest I have ever seen. Hopefully it won’t rub my shirt raw.• The blue anodized aluminum is stunning; it does write black.• It is top heavy but that hasn’t affected my writing. It weighs 32.9g. As a reference, a Pilot Precise V5 RT weighs 10.7g. The T6 is solid. I understand how Fenix can issue a lifetime warranty.
The first thing I noticed is the light shines straight out the side, making the light useless for writing. The light is very bright. The construction is quality, like all Fenix lights. I decided to use the pen as a weighting instrument knowing the light doesn’t aid in writing. I found the base of the pen to be too broad causing me early writer’s fatigue in my fingers and hand. The pen could be more useful and practical if the light somehow was aimed downward to aid in litigating your writing surface, and easier on your fingers and hand with a thinner base. Overall, fine workmanship with impractical application.
I carried it the weekend I got it and between the light and the pen I used it about a dozen times. From playing tic tac toe with the kids at the restaurant while waiting for our meals to lighting the way to my truck in the morning. The size is great. Not too big like the others I have seen. It writes nice right out of the box. I can activate the light with one hand unlike the OLight i1R2 that I need two hands to twist. It does have a little play between the pen and the light, but I can't feel it move while I am writing normally so its basically a non-issue.
