I had a couple of false alarms as well. It is common with almost all smoke detectors , cheap or expensive.Happens due to humidity, temp change, dust or insect activity. Cleaned it with the duster attachment on my vacuum cleaner. Problem solved. If it happens again, $13 is the price of a couple of Lattes. I will buy some replacements.

I bought 3 of these smoke alarms about a year ago. They were working really well till I changed the batteries 2 months ago. Several days after that one of them was triggered and I thought it detected smoke. I pressed the reset button and it stopped for 10 seconds then started again. Then I thought it might have a dud battery so I changed the battery again. I always use good quality batteries like Eveready or Duracell. Same thing happened with the new battery. Only way to silence it was to remove the battery. I went out and bought another one. Then yesterday another one I bought a year ago did the same and had to take out the battery to silence it again. The 4th one I bought 2 months ago to replace the first failed one is going well so far. But I don't think I'll be buying these agains. That's 2 out of 4 so far that has failed after one year. Very poor if I have to keep buying these every year. I don't recommend them at all. Look for another model or a different brand. That's probably why they are so cheap

I regret not taking the ratings and reviews seriously. This smoke alarm began making false alarms a month after I installed it. I thought it was the battery but still kept beeping erroneously with new battery. The last straw was when it started beeping in the middle of the night waking everyone up.DO NOT BUY this product and BUNNINGS should remove it off the shelf.I did not keep the receipt and now I cannot return it back for a refund.

Terrible Smoke alarm, Only bought it a year ago with a good high quality 9volt battery then out of the blue it was going off. I thought smoke smoke smoke but nothing the alarm was going off for no reason at all.I unplugged the battery put a different 9volt battery in but it just kept going off. I would never recommend buying one of these....
I've always disliked wired alarms that flash constantly to let you know they're still working—and usually with an incredibly bright LED. What better way to discourage people from installing them in bedrooms! I didn't expect it from these battery powered ones. The pack says, 'An intermittent "chirp" accompanied by a red LED flash every 32 seconds indicates a low battery.' It says nothing about the red LED flashing ALL THE TIME. This should be indicated clearly on the packaging. And as others have mentioned, there's no hush button. Good luck getting an alarm off the ceiling and removing the battery without permanent hearing damage, as these things are LOUD. The pack claims it's 85 DB. We measured it at 107.8!!Look, it'll probably save your life when you need it, ... MoreI've always disliked wired alarms that flash constantly to let you know they're still working—and usually with an incredibly bright LED. I had two of these units installed recently and both of them randomly go off in the middle of the night, more than once a month for no reason. It's not a sensitivity issue because there's been times in which the kitchen unit had not triggered despite some cooking smoke. Batteries tested fine and healthy with 12 amps short circuit current and 9 volts open circuit. Never buying anything FirePro branded again.
Initially this product was appeared to be fine for the past 18 months or so. Once the battery needed to be replaced was where I struck issues. Once replaced, I have started getting false alarms. Now I have to decide whether I replace it and what brand to choose or do I reset it and try my luck?
Bought 2 early in the new year (2023). One has worked fine so far. The other has started alarming for no good reason. Removed and returned to the store. There's something defective in them and I'm not going persevere until I get another that works properly.
As per previous reviews, initial one suddenly started going off after being installed for a short period of time with no way to stop it except to disconnect the battery. Bought a replacement and it immediately went off as soon as battery was connected and could not be turned off, so not much good to anyone unless you enjoy listening to the smoke alarm sounding around the clock. Shame on me I suppose for buying the same brand that failed the first time but these are absolutely useless.
All of these fire alarms are useless. Bought to replace a so called 10 year lithium battery version. Both go off randomly every few days. Doesn’t seem to be any particular brand . Had the same issues with all of them. Woken up in the middle of the night by multiple false alarms.
