When looking for a new fridge freezer, I stayed with trusted and true. My old F&P fridge freezer has been going for 25 years, multiple house moves and still works a charm. But I needed something a bit bigger and a freezer on the bottom, not on the top as with the old one. This new fridge freezer is brilliant. First, so easy to find stuff, with a bright light to help, loads of storage and the crisper is amazing how long stuff stays good in it. On the outside it is very smart and fits in the space perfectly. It’s dead quiet and chills stuff down really fast. Great product, works perfectly and has a huge amount of space but from the day we received it, it has beeped constantly. We tried everything in the manual and all online forums. Rang F&P, waited for a service technician to come out, had to order new part and have been waiting now two weeks. It beeps all day and night at random times. Very, very annoying for a brand new product.

Fisher and Paykel does not fail to provide amazing quality products. I will never buy any other appliance brand. This fridge is a really good size for my family and the design is really sleek and has all the basic things you need in a fridge. Great price point. Highly recommend this fridge to anyone wanting to have a modern fridge that has a very straightforward feel to it.

Can’t fault the fridge, looks great, now that our kids are older they can reach this type of fridge and no more bending over for us adults or losing food at the back of the fridge. Super quiet can’t hear it running at all. A simple wipe over with a micro fibre cloth to take the kids fingerprint marks off it.
Fabulous fridge...stylish, sleek, well made.Like the black stainless steel too. Love the bottom mount freezer...good amount of storage and easy to access with sliding drawers. Ice cube section is functional and not flimsy as in some other fridges. All shelves in the fridge itself are easy to access, feel strong and are easy to keep clean. The main compartment of the fridge has an excellent amount of storage and the door shelves are more than adequate.... tall bottles fit nicely into the bottom shelf. The wine rack from my previous Fisher & Paykel would be a bonus!
Very nice fridge - good looking and appears to be efficient and working well BUT I didn't check as this has never happened before - who manufactures a fridge without a facility for keeping eggs?? We could use one of the door shelves but would have to just stack them in there! Very odd Fisher & Paykel!! :(
I did my research and comparisons with other makes and models and went for this one as it was replacing a 40 year old Fisher Paykel that gave up the ghost on new years day. Love the space inside both compartments and the quality of products used to make this fridge. Nothing feels cheap or flimsy. Fits perfectly in my kitchens alcove and the most important thing to me is that its super quiet. Very happy with this fridge.
Didn‘t think this purchase through - the salad/vegetable crispers are not designed well because you can’t just open one drawer to retrieve something, as both drawers are incorporated into the slide out frame. This means that the cold air is not retained on the other side. Same deal for the freezer, when you slide out the top drawer of the freezer compartment - all other drawers (MIDDLE AND BOTTOM DRAWER) follow. Badly designed fridge/freezer and a regrettable purchase.
The Fisher and Paykel 494L fridge freezer is really well made with good easy to remove shelves and veggie containers for cleaning etc. Lovely and quiet operation. The only small design criticism is that I can't see inside the top door containers and lids as I'm not that tall. Otherwise a great fridge. Very happy with my purchase.
Our old Fisher and Paykel gave up after 20 years and we quickly ordered a new one. It arrived on the next day and works like a charm. VERY quiet, good even cold distribution, good shelving and space arrangement. Big enough for our family, and I like the way the veggie boxes are sliding out. This avoids breaking the plastic drawers. Only downside is the strange sound when the doors are closing and that they seem to often stay just that little bit open, even though I adjusted the lean of the fridge.
